Hi guys,
I have rooted my htc hero, on MoDaCo was wifi tether that asked for su permission but I uninstall that. I installed wifi tether from its official site on google code. now new wifi tether doesn't ask for su and it doesn't work. How can I solve this problem.
go to settings > applications > manage applications > superuser permissions hit "clear data", then try again.
thanks, but it doesn't work, I cleared cache and data of superuser permission program,
restart my phone, and (re)install binaries/configs of wifi tether after clearing data of su, but don't works.
Try to enable Debug USB (under Settings/Applications/Development), it should works
It was checked , but no result. I unchecked it and try, checked it and try again doesn't work. after checking and unchecking I cleared data and cache of su. another way?
Solved! I install wifi-tether latest version (experimental) and now it ask for su. I had problem with 1.6

I tried 2 seperate roms. Experience and AOSP magic rom and both seems to break Wifi Tethering for me. When I start the app, it says unable to start try again. I've try to reinstall no luck either.

If you are using Epic Experience, the compatible version of Wireless tether is put on your SD card..
Use a file manager and find the folder called "Epic Experience" its in there. Do not install it from the market.
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
pre 8 and 9 work i believe (i use 9 but i think others include 8 which works on Epic).
i've heard that after flashing a new ROM you may have to go into settings > applications > manage applications > wireless tether and clear data. might want to try that
I figured out the problem. After applying the new rom, the Super User permission got erased. The quick fix for me was to re-root with super user to reset everything then it worked again.
Same goes with a lot of other programs that needed SU permission.
I just recently updated from CM6 to CM7 RC2. I flashed the ROM, then the gb gapps (03-07-2011 version), then darktremor's a2sd. I wiped data and dalvik. All of my apps on my external partition appeared upon reboot. When I open the Market, it works fine. However, when I goto the My Apps section, several apps automatically begin downloading automatically, but they never make any progress. When I cancel the download, and restart it the market crashes. If I try to download a new app, the market crashes. All other apps work fine.
My settings are set to save apps internally (so they will goto the ext partition). I've tried the following things, to no avail.
Deleting the smdl2tmp1.asec file
Reflashing gb gapps
fixing file permissions with rom manager
fixing file permissions with a2sd via terminal
clearing market, downloader, other-seemingly market related caches
Is there any other fixes for market force closes? If you need a logcat, let me know.
Bump.
Market still not downloading...I may try making a Nandroid, then flashing straight CM7 & gapps, without dta2sd....
UPDATE: I fixed it. I uninstalled the market updates, which didn't appear to have any effect, other than fixing my problem. I don't know how it updated, unless flashing gapps did it.

You can install xpose framework, and install wanam > under security hacks > (enable) disable secure storage
if not work, go setting > application > s health > clear data
it can fix =)

Thank you for your fast and accurate reply... and that solve my problem instantly
Yeah!! you are welcome
many feature at wanam, you can play around with it =)
Dear Friends,
please look here.:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.xshealth
This Module works fine with Note 4 and you must not change the secure Settings with build.prop
XSecureStorage module bypass the secure storage checks on SHealth and Private mode services, this will let you load the SHealth App with no hangs and activate Private mode on Rooted Samsung devices running Xposed framework.
Why we do that? because somehow if you are using Xposed framework on GalaxyS5 (and the newest Samsung flagships), Secure storage will fails to process and save data, which leads to a Sensor service hangs.

Install and activate the attached apk in Xposed Installer and S-Health works fine.

i had same problem clear data didnt work and wanam was causing the phone to freeze and lag really badly so i unrooted it and tried to do factory reset but it wouldnt reset when i pressed erase everything nothing happened so i reset through recovery and it wouldnt restart after that it was stuck on samsung logo in the end i had to download and reflash stock rom anybody know why thats happened as i like the wanam features but dont want that heart in the mouth moment again if i try to root it agin...
Don't worry the steps is easy
1. new phone (after factory store or flash rom by odin)
2. root it
3. install xposed and wanam
4. enable it under wanam > security hacks > "disable secure storage"
5. clear data under setting > application manager > shealth
6. reboot, shealth will be work!
good luck

s health working properly
So I'm having this issue where my SM-G950F looses ALL known Networks when Wifi gets toggled.
I installed the update which came on the 21.04 but since I'm rooted I can't recieve OTA Updates anymore
Wlan driver is: Wlan v1.0 Release 1
Is there any fix for this?
Exactly the same issue with root here
I'm also rooted and having the same issue
Still happening .... does noone have a clue how to fix this ?
I've got the very same issue. It's very annoying. Hope someone finds a fix soon.
I'm also on a rooted Samsung S8+.
I think I have the same problem, but only when the WiFi-network has a password. It will remember the networks without password but as soon as I reboot or toggle Wifi it will have forgotten the network and password.
I also noticed the information disappears from the wpa_supplicant.conf-file.
I tried to solve it by:
- Deleting cache and data of google backup transport
- Deleting the DHCP-folder in /data/mics/
- Deleting the network-info in wpa_supplicant.conf
- Setting ro.secure.storage=false to false in BuildProp
- Deleting the ss_data-folder in /efs/
Nothing worked.
I have a Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F), Android 7.0 rooted with Magisk. To make room for Open GApps I had to remove some system-apps.
- Any of you installed Open GApps as well?
- I also noticed I had to enter a bluetooth passkey today. Although I previously connected my phone to my car. Could it be bluetooth is also affected?

I've also rooted with Magisk but I haven't removed any apps/installed GApps.
I've noticed the same with Bluetooth, my Zenwatch3 will ask me to confirm the passkey on my phone before pairing.
Did you by any chance enable 'unified hosts adblock' in Magisk? It was the cause of my problems. Disabled that and it worked.

Hmm interesting...
I've enabled "systemless host" in magisk but I'm using AdAway app rather than the "Unified Hosts Adblock" module.
I'll mess about with these and see if it resolves.
Same issue here on 955f, rooted with magisk, dhcp folder and file changed, systemless host off and still no wifi in memory. Has someone performed wipe to see if the issue has been resolved this way? Thanks
So I've updated my phone and I've got root through Magisk. I've enabled systemless hosts and installed AdAway, but, when i tap the "Enable Ad-Blocking" button, I get the "Not enough space" error.
I've already given it superuser rights with Magisk on the popup, so now I only see the toast popup when I try to enable it, but it just won't work.
What am I missing? What else can I try?
Have you tried to reboot after enabling sysless hosts?
Not sure, do you have latest version, cleared cache & storage, then reboot?

Enable systemless and reboot.
I've enabled systemless hosts and rebooted, then reinstalled AdAway and it didn't work. I do have the newest version, I've cleared everything with no luck... Something else is at play here, I think...
There's an option in AdAway for systemless hosts but if I tap on that, it tells me to do it in Magisk, which it is...
Is it possible my phone passed the root check and gives apps SU but root access really isn't there?
I actually got it working! Kinda shocked...
Magisk and Magisk Manager both had updates, do I did that and rebooted. Then I removed the systemless hosts module and rebooted, installed the hideprops config and reinstalled systemless hosts, rebooted again, and it worked. Woohoo!
No need to install AdGuard. GO to Settings > Wi-fi & Network > Private DNS.
Choose: Private DNS provider hostname.
Write : dns.adguard.com.
Save.
Done.

Note. If you do this and you join any network that has a dns already. You device will not work.
Had this as my office. We run a dns and it would never connect to the internet doing this way. Have no choice but to run adguard
