Dedicated subforum for xperia?

As this little subsection is growing really fast (and will be worst in coming weeks when much more people can get them new device ) why don't open a dedicated subforum as any other HTC device? Ok, xperia isn't officially from HTC but it's indeed an HTC

It's definetly HTC's, since it seems that SE doesnt know anything about it
Yes! Yes! Yes!
I'm totally in accord with you......!
Actually, sony ericssons supports seem to know very much about it. Ive been calling them with questions every now and then and they have never hesitated even the slightest.
it's not a matter of sonyericsson knowledge of device, it's a matter of modifying xperia and keep order on xda-forum

Yeah, with incredible speed they give wrong information.
@ Guap,
I second your idea. We need to split this in subforums.
Everyone who agrees raise your hand and say: YEAH!
(with raised hand) YEAH!
Someone PM a mod or admin and we'll see what they think.
Yes indeedy please

Did you ask them when it was coming out?
Didn't SE support also say the phone undoubtedly had the 1700mhz band?

Right, but mods can relay requests to admins if they feel they're valid... I think of them as the liaison between the members and admin(s), so they're not bothered by "I NEEDZ TEH OMNIA FORUMMM".
By the way, is there more than 1 admin? Flar's the only one I've ever seen/spoken with.

Any swedes hanging around?

Processor Type?

What kind of processor does the htc touch hd have?
Is it ARM/XSCALE?
if you had done a search under google, you would have found what you are looking for.
The cpu core is an ARM1136EJ-S
thanks
Thank you!

@adrsar
Why are you senior mebers in this Forum alsways so rude.
Every question is answered with look here look there ...
Why can´t you just answer and help the forum users ?
I read and write in many german and other world wide forums,
but here I alsways feel uncomfortable with the "sound"
a Forum is here to ask and discuss - searching is ok but I think answering is always also ok

My view is that, if you're lazy to help, you always have the option of ignoring the post and move on. It is not always easy, at least for some less experienced one, to get what appear to be an obvious answer. Further, one must recognise that this forum is very very very hugh in terms of number of posts to be read, and who in the world has the time to read all of them?
On the other hand, there are also people who DO enjoy helping out others, even if it is questions asked again and again. So, let these people do the answering.
What is important is for those seeking help to be nice and polite. As long as they do that, they do deserve a nice and polite response.
It is not productive IMO to pollute the thread by another "Go google yourself" type of post.
Just my 2 cents.

Point taken - appologies and slap wrist.
It does get a little annoying though when members ask the same question time and time again and its obvious that they have not done a search. In the last few weeks there have been numerous new posts asking about "why does my LED not light up beside the speaker" as an example. If members tried searching first, there would be less duplicate threads. A number of questions can be answered by reading the manual also.
I read the forum everyday, and its just getting like TV - full of repeats.
I will keep quiet from now on and appologies if i sounded harsh.

I agree that it is damn anoying when people just post without even a slight search, but the forum is developed as such that you simply don't answer or reply to the thread and it will slide down the list until it is never seen again.
I love this forum but it does seem there are an awful lot of self improtant people here. We are meant to be a community to help each other. Saying that my 2yr daughter could have probably found out what processor the HDs got but its still no reason to be rude, so if you don't like the thread/post simply ignore it?
I tried searching google for the processor type, but could only find Qualcomm® MSM 7201A™ 528 MHz. for me this doesnt say what type it is!
I always search this forum for anserws before I ask.
some software only say it is for ARM/XSCALE processor, and I dont know what that means? how can I see that Qualcomm have a ARM1136EJ-S core?
Maybe I dont know much about processor, but this I dont think it is comman knowlage.?
But hey, now I know so I am happy!!
The majority of WM6 software is written for the ARM/Xscale and will work fine. However be careful of the apps that under/overclock your processor - such as Pocket Hack Master as even though the software is written for ARM Processors, the Qualcomm device is not supported. Many software developers offier free trial versions - I strongly recommend you give them a go before you part with your money.

X10 gets GSM/UMTC certification for 2.1 - update very, very soon

Now here's something for the X10 critics to put in their pipe and smoke -

This means 2.1 is finished and ready for distribution
This is the third thread I have seen on this in the last 12 hours...
Sorry mate, I have a terrible hangover at the moment so my ignorance has the better of me
MODS, please close the thread or merge it if you like. I would have posted in the news thread but the bloody thing is closed.
P.S Don't be such a sad sack of ****. Saying thankyou and then linking to the thread is a much nicer way of putting it

It doesn't matter if you didn't know.
The thought of you posting this to bring our hopes up is what counts.
Thanks, Zm4.

[KERNEL][4.6.2011] Thunderbolt Kernel By Ziggy

For those familiar with Ziggy's work, he finally compiled a kernel for the Thunderbolt. It is a beta kernel so there will be bugs, so test it out. For reporting bugs please comment on his website. I am in no way affiliated with Ziggy, just wanted to spread the news.
Will try to update as much as possible.
[Removed Link] Mod Edit
Loved his kernel on my Evo. Thanks for the heads up.
TB refuses to wake up had to do a battery pull

Fantastic. Ran a number of Ziggy's kernels on my Inc and was quite pleased. Can't wait till these get refined.
2 new beta kernels up on Ziggy's website today. ziggy471.com
been testing these for a while now. AWESOME is the only way to describe them lol

What are you some kinda angry nerd? You tend to get better explanations about PHONE questions on a PHONE message board. How each effects a PHONE vs Linux....
Take a step back and stop being an angry phone nerd.
To cut it short,
BFS is generally faster, but has its hickups when multitasking.
CFS can be a little lower in quad scores (which mean nothing in my opinion) but do better on multitasking.
I prefer CFS, its smoother to me.. Try em both, it depends on what you prefer and what your phone can handle

Nobody in the forums hate anything more than answering silly questions...always search before posting...especially development forums. If you have a simple questions, post in the general thread or simple google search and you will find your answers...not being harsh...just stating facts.

What was I thinking... BFS vs CFS is so common. I was actually going to ask my mom about it.
Nikolai2.1 - thank you very much. See how easy that was? Instead you guys decide to insult and argue, taking up MORE comment space.
This thread is becoming funny. Guys, even if you want people to search, please be polite. No point being too challenging. Many people ask simple questions because they want to hear answers in laymen terms. Please be kind - you were a noob once too.

Actually I disagree. A well researched article will give you or anyone else much more info than 10 people expressing what their opinion is on the topic.
Also he did not only google it for you but he posted the link for you as well. I also did not see him sling any names at you.
Maybe a Thank You should be in order.
It might also be noteworthy to address that this belongs in the General Section not Development.
Good Luck

Atrix Running Gingerbread (Video)

Looks like AT&T and Motorola have got an internal build running out there. The video is interesting, things sure do look snappy.
Also it mentions Gingerbread might be coming between June and July...one can only hope!!
My only complaint is the new dialer, a tad ugly in my opinion.
(Seems that since I just lurk, I can't post links!)
It would be great if someone could post the link! The article is on DroidMatters.com and is currently their featured article.
Sooo where's the video?

Kenneth Pennington posted a link to that in the dev section. Then it gets used on droid matters. So of course it then funnels down to the General Forums and it also is on the Official Support Forums as well. Loose lips sink ships.
You've got the correct video, I tried looking around for it but I guess I missed the link in the dev section.
Sorry that I couldn't post the link! (post # restrictions)
