Also check if you do not have more than one relationships (between the pda and multiple pc's) defined. It can be that sync is done via one partnership and not with the other one. I once found this as a problem and very confusing.

only by opening activesync on the phone (start - active sync) and clicking sync, but thats not automatic is it?
I guess the problem lies in the active sync app on eth phone. The one on the pc polls continually for changes on teh PC and sends them to the phone, the one on the phone doesn't.

First sync with outlook question

Last time I tried to sync with outlook (months ago) when I chose to set up the new device it erased all my contacts and appointments in my calendar. How can I get my device connected again but this time having all my info from the calendar go into outlook? I backed up all my contacts on the sim card so I wont have to worry about them again.
activesync have settings to set which device is master if there are conflicts
Is that on the phone side or computer side? I remember this being the issue last time, when I look at it now on the phone the options button is greyed out and IIRC I dont get that option until after I have already sync'd (and presumably lost all the info). And this is with Schaps 4.40 and Vista.

I should be on the Activesync on your PC. When you synchronize for the first time, you have to define the settings you want. Sorry, I've never done it with Vista.

Removing Outlook from Email tab

I'm wondering if it's possible to remove outlook from the email tab of TF3D.
I never use it, I use GMail for my email, so it just takes up space, and irritates me that it doesn't remember gmail as default after soft reset.
Any ideas?
Do you mean that you've set it up, and now want to remove it...? if that's the case, you can remove it when connected to your PC using the WM Device Centre...
Honestly can't remember where, but it's there....
i think he means the fact that there are 2 emails to chose from in the tf3d email tab. top one is the outlook one and the 2nd is the gmail one
he is not using the outlook..
anyway i have the exact same issue..restarting tf3d or phone resets to the default (outlook). so you have to manually select gmail afterwards
it takes one click but it can be annoying when you'r in a hurry
You can solve it by deselecting to synchronize your email with outlook in activesync.
After you have done that just remove the oulook email account and it will not come back anymore.

I had the same issue. Deselecting the syncronization removed the icon from the eMail page, all other settings I left unchanged.
Well, my problem is exactly the opposite. My outlook icon disappeared and I found no way to put it back there, even removing and recreating the outlook account...
@[email protected]
weird but it worked...
Cheers guys, worked like a charm.
I still dont see how i can delete it on the X1..i dont even have outlook intalled on my PC.
So i cant deselect synchronizing with outlook because i dont even have it..so how do i get rid of it?

PhotoDial settings always lost after re-sync

I sometimes get an ActiveSync error that the source is for some reason mixed up and I have to re-synchronize all folders and everything will be deleted before re-sync.
THEREFOR my PhotoDial entries are lost. EVEN if my contacts in OUTLOOK on my PC are still marked with the "PhotoDial" category.
Is there a way to preserve those entries or do I always have top put them in manually all over again?
Are you synchronising to two PCs?
This is the reason I REMOVED the contacts tab from TF3D. I had to choose between syncing and fancy dialing. I chose to sync
Using TF3D and syncing with vista I have had no problems, are you syncing with outlook or some other pim application?
I use only ONE sync PC and run VISTA.
It seems that sometimes while changing items in PC-Outlook 2007 and a connected ActivSync, the error happens.
ok the full message is:
There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on our device. Please perform a manual synch.

but the short cut, photo dial tab is empty...

still having it...
is there any new knowledge?

Syncronisation problem after Hard Reset

I have used the device for about a week now.
I have two computers that I syncronise my device to - laptop and work komputer.
I also use app caled PPCPimBackup to back up call logs and also contacts and calendar.
Now I installed a new ROM on my device, then restrored all contacts and calendar enrties etc. with thw PPCP tool.
Next time I connected my laptop and X1 the Active sync "syncronised" the contacts and calendar and the outcome was that it copied all the contacts that were in laptop to device and vice-versa so I have now double entries from everithing in both devices.
It seems that the ActiveSync doesn't check the entry name or contents but some unique idntificatsion that it autoatically generates for every entry on the first sync attempt.
What should I do next time I Hard Reset my device so that the sync. still recognises the last syncronised setings?

I don't think it can still recognize your last synch after a new hard reset. What you can do is to change the sync settings on your PC. Hope this somewhat helps.

The only thing I came up to is to delete all contacts and calendar inputs from one device (computer).

Import Calendar from Topaz to Outlook

Hi. I had to get a new computer and I want to import my calendar appointments from the Topaz to Outlook on my new computer. When I sync them, it only moves appointments from Outlook to my phone, but not vice-versa. Am I missing something obviously? Please help. Thanks!
Is there really no solution?
the sync. makes changes on your PPC just because the info on your PC is newer than you mobile. If you wanna change your pc's info, you'd better change it's date to an earlier time.
Yes its possible!
On your phone run ActiveSync program, without being connected to the PC.
Click the option Menu->Options
scroll down and find the Windows PC settings section.
click on Calendar so that its highlighted.
then there is a Settings button on the bottom right of screen click this and adjust the drop down so that it says All.
I believe that you didn't set so its only sync'ing the last 2 weeks (which is the default)
Hope that this works!
Unfortunetly while that synced my new appointments, it erased all my recurring, old appointments on my phone.
