this version should support LEO better?
Number 1 rule (and arguably the most important rule) on XDA is to do a search before posting. There are plenty of roms out there with 6.5.3. I mean, you are more than half way...you are IN the right thread....its just a click away. I don't mean to be rude, but you should have read the rules.

I searched this forum and also installed many ROM s including 21892,23540,24601 and etc.. some of them are 6.5.5 or 6.5.X, but i dd not find which one is belong to 6.5.3 series.
If You had read the forum instead of asking first, you'd know that 23xxx builds are WM6.5.3, 21xxx builds are WM6.5 and 28xxx builds are WM6.5.5!!!

Man, in WM6.5.x the whole windows system menus, settings, contacts and so on are much bigger and more fingerfriendly to press than with 6.5.
In addition, the start menu went from the top to the bottom and the buttons are bigger.
How much more fingerfriendlyness did you expect?

We have seen several WM 6.5 ROM's for different devices start showing up, including one for the iPAQ 6xx why nothing for the iPAQ 9xx's? Is anyone working on anything? Can you port over the WM6.5 6xx ROM to the 9xx?
I think that this device does not have much support and It will take a long time to see a ROM for it, like you mentioned there are several WM6.5 ROM's showing up and also a lot of cooked ROM's but nothing for this device and it's a shame
well technically I believe any rom can be ported over to other device but I don't have a 9xx so can't help you. You will have to wait till someone with 9xx and have the skill to port it
Why no WM5 - WM6 too for hp iPAQ h6300 series?
i have a ipaq hx2790. Previous versions 6.0 and 6.1 can be found here ... but unfortunately 6.5 is nowhere :-(((((((
Anybody know more please PM me !

Actually, a couple of them.
Guess you shouldn't attempt flashing your phone if you can't use a simple 'Search' function on a forum though!
Hey dude, guess it was my lack of luck I did search for a whole lot of keywords combinations
though I wouldn't have guessed it's actually labeled as 91xC and not 9xx or whatever... anyhow much appreciated the constructive reply I got before your spam!
Cheers all!

Well - you found the thread to post in... so that must mean you found the forum as well.
I just saw a TG01 running winmo 6.5.3 at CES and it looked impressive. Small changes and nice onscreen push buttons at the bottom of each page for easy pressing.
I wonder if the HD2 will get it??

There's nothing in the OP about wanting an official version of 6.5.3. It just says 6.5.3. So, he's right. Searching will find it. If you do want an official version, you'll have to wait until it's released. You may still not get it then anyway. It will be down to your provider.

I hope not. If HTC are going to put any effort into a new version of WM then I hope it will be WM7 rather than 6.5.3

Disagree, my question about where the thread starter mentioned that he has a provider locked phone is relevant in the light of at least one irrelevant answer.
But thank you for your pointless comment.
Back OT - My bold prediction is that HTC won't bother with 6.5.3 but will issue more and more patches for current issues and then present something more advanced at a later stage, probably in the middle of the year.
I have absolutely no factual (or even fictional) basis for the above assertion but it seems entirely reasonable. I feel it in my gut.
Shoot me down if you wish but at least I'm OT.
Same as above, I don't think HTC is going to bother with 6.5.3 (or rather, I'd like them to pay to make actual proper drivers instead of OS updates); in any case, when/if an official release of Windows 6.5.3 is out you'll prolly be able to find it in the ROM section, xda being, you know, xda.
As for personal experience, 6.5.3 transformed my device into a trainwreck (a shiny trainwreck with huge buttons) with all relevant cooked roms as of 5 days ago, making me swiftly retreat to a cooked 6.5.0. Of course, it depends of what you do with it (if you want a device you can rely on and consider stable or not). Your mileage may vary.
I think there is too much focus on TMOUS roms in here, its impossible for other users to find and install roms that are non TMOUS - A brief period there was a TMOUS Development forum in the main hall of HTC Leo: HD2.. Would have been genius if that forum had been kept, but for some reason the moderators merged it back with this forum.. Could it be possible to make an EU/Rest of the world Development forum instead and make the small group of those dev's move to that ? Im pretty tired of installing TMOUS roms, without really knowing if they are for my device or not..

Yes, they do.. But you dont get the ram lockup and you dont get the same battery efficiency as if you use an EU rom on your EU device.. EU devices are designed for Radio 2.0X.51.XX where TMOUS are for 2.0X.50.XX.. That makes a huge difference for EU users, not for TMOUS users.. And i am a EU user, so that why i started this thread..
Thats news to me (about the battery life, dont know what you mean by RAM lockup)
Even if there was still the seperate forum, it wouldnt stop developers from cooking roms on the 2.10 base. the only thing that would change wud be that tmous compatable roms would appear here and in the other forum. As mentioned, the tmous roms still work with our EU HD2's...

The TMOUS devices have 576mb ram locked up, the EU only have 488mb..
oh, you made it sound as if tmous roms on eu handsets have some sort of ram issue.
There is a separate T-Mobile US HD2 section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=631
Most people don't seem to mind using the TMOUS roms. Battery is about the same and working with the 2.10 base makes it easier for everyone, in my opinion. Some of the roms have different options you just have to look around, oh and as a heads up there still is a tmous forum.

IOnhide and Pkoper,
Just been to the top of the screen from the link given above, typed in HD2 in the "Jump to Device" box and I get both the HD2 and TMOUS fora come up.
That search box was put there to make navigation even easier than before. Tried the other way, also from the top of the page, using the "Devices by OS or Manufacturer" tab, selected all, got this page...http://forum.xda-developers.com/filter.php?cat=HTC scrolled down and there it is...TMOBILE USA HTC HD2 Fora.
I am at a loss, therefore, as to how either of you could have failed to find the forum, especially given Ionhides sweeping comments earlier. I really don't know how you could have missed it.
If you are having problems with searching or the search facilities on here then please feel free to pm me.

What's currently the most bug-free & stable windows phone 7 or mango rom out there?
i would say YukiXDA rom is...i have been using it without any prob
YukiXDA V5 is the best...
Yuki V5, Xbmod 1.11, HD20 1.14(need only replace soft radio to 5.51 - part00.bin). are the best.
All "Green" mangos presently very crappy.

+1 for YukiXDA V5.................. and in waiting for stable mango!
YukiXDA is only NODO update at the moment... will wait for Mango release
In terms of Mango beta 1 - i can only speak for myself but it is very stable for me - and quite fast - yes it has a few bugs (mentioned in other topics)
but wont prevent me from daily usage! (i switched from android to wp7 this week and im enjoying very long battery life on my device with only the standard battery)
which beta mango are u using then?
I use the beta from elfinazz with marketplace working
I totally agree!

i'm familiar with android builds for the HD2, but my friend wants windows 7 on his HD2, so i myself found this thread useful. XDA is a huge place to browse around, so this gave me some good places to look first.
he also did specify which ones were the most stable and bug free, which is more factual than which one is 'best'

Yeah your right there is nothing wrong with their existence but only if they haven't been created before. These "best" rom threads are simply ridiculous, there is no "best" rom, its all subjective and just leads to a million useless replies that have been discussed before in a million other topics.
Its much more productive to go and try some roms and then leave feedback, Then people can read and make their own minds up.
