I dont think so already someone showed windows phone 7 series on hd2 but again its 90% fake.... once we get any alpha build.... i know here on xda there are many people who would help us to pu that wm 7 on our devices if not atleast some components.

by leaving out HD2 for the upgrade and the millions of WinMo users, Win 7 will fail!!!

Technically they are not targeting exsisting winmo users, they are targeting all consumers, ppl that don't know smartphones...they just know phones that do cool things...ooo..i want that! those ppl...we all here are power users who will propbly have wp7s on our hd2 before it launches any devices..but most here might not even upgrade becuase of all the limitations of wp7s but it has pros too tho...better games..smart non-multitasking aka save states....so yeah, it's a toss up on who will and won't want wp7 on the hd2. I might want it...but for now i'm just gunna love watching all my xvid avi files on my hd2 and put my g1 on airplane mode and use wifirouter for twitter if i don't like the twitter experience on sense...i am rambling...i'll stop now

there is also another problem.wm7 will not support hd2 because of its removable memory card...!!!it most had a built in memory just like iphone.

If using winmo to boot android i feel abit lag and not like real android.

No, it's not possible yet. They still use WinMo to initialize some components.. more development is needed before it's possible.... but it is still real android. Windows Mobile is shut down completely and the linux kernel is booted to allow android to load.

It isn't slow for me. That's even on my 16 gig class 2. Try a faster sd card. Btw what build did you use

This is just a dream come true....
Android should have been native to the HD2 from the beginning! Depriving europe of a EVO 4G-like phone was a big mistake made by HTC and European providers.
Good thing that XDA has the best Dev's around!

I figured, but I did get excited for a second
Personally i prefer dual boot system.I like also wm and android and if htc wanted would give us officially this thing.China e-shops sell devices like diamond 2 clone with htc logo on it that runs wm and android with hardware a lot times lower than the hardware of hd2..I cant believe that htc has not the technology to give us a full working dual boot rom for hd2 ,but they are not going to do it....

It has nothing to do with technology or knowhow, it's all got to do with money and willing to see an opportunity and taking it!
HTC and the European providers missed out on this one.
Soo yeah, It was on the main page recently that a build of windows phone 7 would soon be released for HD2. I know I'm begging for a good flaming for this but is there anywhere I can find an update on the status of this project? I know its a locked down OS and blah blah blah but I use the HD2 as my business phone and would like it to have a more business appeal to it. Does amnyone have an idea on the status of this project?

Why would he spend money to buy a new HD7 when he could just wait for HD2 to potentially have WP7?

WM7 will come , but like chefs told its just a demo. i dont think its will for a daily use. Android is enough .

I think it comes down to if the team is willing to crack the OS so everything works. Last I heard, the thing thats holding back release and making the OS usable would be Windows Genuine Phone. It prevents non-genuine versions of windows phone to work properly. Without live tiles and access to apps, the usefulness of windows phones is non-existent.

of course it can, its just the fact that porting a complete OS is a massively complex task that us mere mortals can barely even comprehend.....
the devs need time and for others to be patient....
Well I'm gonna patiently wait. Android is helping bide the time, but I'm ready for some new microsoft goodies.

No shure but the Hero has lot of hardware limitations...so i think's this is a NO)) to bad, because it's a great phone... Sense 2.1 isn't to optimized for it to run properly...
PS: i'll keep you guys posted on how WebOS is when i get my tablet delivered

Well Why not buy a windows phone?...The htc HD2 can run windows and android to, u can use even MIUI on it
As for webOS, it's very fun to use and stable...don't know why hp stopped producing tablets and the Pre3 because the os is smooth and stable
For the moment i just installed preware on it, and will run a 720p video to see how it works

May most of u read about the HTC W8 from evleaks. I dont know if its true but lets say there will be a W8 with the same Hardware specs as the M8 would it then maybe be possible to port WP8 to the M8 and from that base to the M7?

a very experienced dev on hd2, sir Cotulla from DFT, was working on a custom bootloader for m7 (magldr) which makes multiple os boot possible, in particular he was trying to port win 8 RT (he wasn't much interested on WP)

overall talking about the windows phone and not about lumias.
wp8 devices(samsung and huawei) have been jailbroken which is called interlop unlock.
also lumia 520 has been interlop unlocked using j-tag. so it is highly possible that other lumias may follow soon.
I would love to have a lumia 9xx dualbooting wp8 and android..but i am actually a student and cant afford a new phone so my hope is in the wp8.1 port for my beloved m7 btw to the guy 2 posts above me...: nice typo
