Ive got the S100 and have two questions.
1. Is there any way making the camera saving all picstures in the same folder? Right now its generating anew folder every day.
2. When I receive a MMS it doesnt connect with the contact list, wich means I dont get the name of the sender, just his/hers number. When receiving a SMS it will state who sent it with name taken from the Contact list.
All help appreciated!

there must be some registry tweak! I saw one in this forum, done it, but have no results...
After day-by-day using the camera, I have realise, that it is very comfartable. I mean the different folders every day - pics doesn't mixing.
relax, man, and enjoy!!!
You could install the latest version of the camera software, that allows you to customise how it names the files and whether it puts them in a new folder. While you're there you could try the latest version of the MMS software too, to see if that helps.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Magician/Extended_Roms/MDACompact_NL_1.13.125/
Camera_Wizard_Magician_T-Mobile_WWE_RC28_Customize.CAB
CAB-Acrosoft-MMS-2.5.0.28-ENU-MagicianAKU2.6-13May06.CAB
And after you have installed the new version on camera (that don't create any folder, but save directly in /My Documents/My Picture by default) use this reg trick to save the picture where you want:
From a post that I've found in this forum:
"Get you're favorite registry editor (i use phmRegEdit) and go to the following key: HKLM\SOFTARE\HTC\Camera\AppDefSettings\Image
You should find an empty value called "SaveFolder". You can change this to whatever you like (even invalid paths but it must be able to get created by the camera app). So if you set it to "\My Pictures" the pics you take will be stored in
(Storage Card)\My Documents\My Pictures\(some dated dir)\(somepicname).(some extension)
as far as i could see the SaveTo DWORD represents the storage location (0 = \My Documents, 1 = Storage card)
What i'd like to have is a tweak that does not create those nasty long dir names... just store the pics in "\My Documents".
Regards,
Fossalta
[Edit] You can do the same trick for the /Video key [/Edit] "
Bye bye
yes-yes-yes, that's what I'm talking about... But it is not working with default camera!

Well, cant see any difference actually...
Well, the original cab file for the MMS prog would be great as well, since the new one didnt work - at all
There's apparently not much you can do regarding picture quality but the latest camera software patch will fix up the snow problem on your pictures. You will still see snow on the viewer but the pictures will be snow-free
I have installed the rc28 camera and it gives total sh*t to today screen... I can't describe it... some kind of traces of launched apps remains and there is no wallpaper... I've perform the Hard Reset.
Camera app is working, but there is no difference. exept landscape mode onle, mms video mode (don't notice it in default app), and absent day-folders when saving.
ADVICE: DON'T install it!!!!
I don't know about the RC23 or RC28. I installed the patch by ampda (which is newer than RC23)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33305&highlight=
And the camera is great, you can take shots in landscape or potrait mode plus the snow problem is fixed as well.
What CAb did you install? There are some few that all regards the camera..
And does anyone know what the original version of the MMS prog is named, and where I can find it?
/n
There are individual patches but there is one cab that incorporates the patches and update the camera version. File is called
ampda_CameraV2.7b21026_RAM.CAB
copy the CAB file to your \windows folder then run it on your handheld. Then make a backup copy the file \windows\camera.exe
The CAB will create a file called camera27b21026.exe or something similar in the \windows so rename that file to camera.exe
And there you have it.
For the MMS, will be something like this file on your EXT ROM
ftp://xda:[email protected]Mar05.CAB
THANX!!
If you install the RC28 camera file you just have to reset your today wallpaper and it will be fine, I think the same happened when I tried 23 too.
Hi all. I've been trying to find any posts on how to change the TD2's default photo filenames to date & time. It's so much better than the default 'IMAGE0001' and so on which says nothing about the picture other than how many photographs you've taken on your ROM before this one. Date & time is also helpful if for some reason the filedate gets broken by copying or making backups. It used to be configurable in the Diamond 1 camera settings. I want it back!
There are some posts about camera filenames but none that I could find were about the HTC ROM camera app. I've tried to find anything useful in the registry, but all i could find there was a way to change the prefix 'IMAGE' to another fixed prefix. It's not listed as an option in the Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3.
Can anybody give me some directions?
I've found two more possible suspects in the registry:
HKLM/software/HTC/camera/captparam/ enabledatefolder = 0
Not sure if this is what I want. I suppose this creates a date folder for every day that you take a picture, but the images themselves are still in the IMAGE0001 filename convention.
Then there's:
HKLM/software/HTC/camera/general/ filenametype = 0
BINGO! Or so I thought. Changed it to 1, nothing happened. Next images still in IMAGE0001 format, even after a softreset.
This key is different on my TD1 and TD2:
HKLM/software/HTC/camera/general/ EnableNewPromptStr4InnerStorage = 0
I have no idea what it does, but on the TD1 (with date filename option) it's set to 1. Changing it doesn't change filename OR the greyed out camera settings/advanced/prefix option. Changed it back to 0.
Tips are still very welcome. Thanks.
*bump*
I am also interested in this. Has anyone make any progress here?
I found the same problem in TP2. When I change filenametype to 1 then soft reset. Prefix setting still grey...
The reason this frustrates me is because I was able to tweak the registry to save my photos to a specific folder on my storage card on a previous device, but no matter what I set the registry to on my TD2, it only saves to My Docs or DCIM on storage card and I have tweaked everything possible for save locations.
Therefore when I copy the new pics from DCIM to my folder, I always have to rename them through windows. WTF?
I've moved on to the HD2, which has the same problem. It seems to have something to do with the storage location: put it on internal storage and you can change the filename prefix, put it on memorycard and you can't.
Here's a fix that works on the HD2, maybe it does the trick for the Diamond2

yes worked on my Diamond 2... thanks!

Great find thanks. I had changed the DCIM to "0" but never went back ito settings to see that it opened up the prefix.
No problem, just help me find out how to tell 'Albums' that the default directory for finding my photographs is no longer the DCIM folder but the My Documents/My Pictures folder. If we get that fixed I'll be 100% satisfied.
Oh and by the way, the HD2 is a killer machine

Do you mean so that it displays in the Manila tab?
If so, just go to the photo tab, select Albums and navigate to the new Album, then in menu set as favorite.
If not, please clarify.

I am suddenly seeing duplicates thumbnails in my album of only some videos and images. I have deleted album cache folder but no help. Any ideas how to fix??
Same with me - I've just bought this HTC and have the same problem - when I view the photos they are doubled! Has anyone got solution for that? it's really annoying. thx for any help.
Hi did you changed the HTC sense language?
eg : ROM WWE and Sense in German or any other language?
well, I just installed Polish when first switched on... Does it matter?
Yes, it does.
It's a bug, when you select a sense language different from the ROM, all the pics of your album are doubled!
Why? I don't known!
Have a good day
Nice bug there HTC
Any solution for it? Possible that it's just a regtweak...
Hello:
Well, the "double picture" problem happens when you change the Manila language. I change from English (0409) to Brazilian Portuguese (0416) and the problem began. I solve it changing 3 registry entries:
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/VideoSaveFolder_xxxx
HKLM/Software/Camera/Image/GpsSaveFolder_xxxx
HKLM/Software/Camera/Image/SaveFolder_xxxx
Change xxxx to your language code, soft reset, and voilá!
Happy New Year!
Hm, that didnt do the trick for me. OR... I have entered the wrong code
Must check again. You ment to only change the name, right? Not the values? I did change mine to \Storage Card\DCIM\100IMG, maybe that screw things up a bit. What are the original values for all three, can someone post those please.
[Edit]
Interesting. I installed 4tunes' album cache cab and did the registrychanges (set to 041D == swedish, same language as manilla is set to)... and now i see double pics even in the widget, not just in HTC album but also in the widget
Someone needs to find a fix for this. Or... I suppose this will be fixed once custom roms are out and there's a reliable HSPL from cmonex
[Edit 2]
Changed to 1053 which is the language code I changed to (MUI) and got rid of the doubles in the widget, but there are still doublets in the Album.
haha, when I first time attempt to edit these value, after a reboot, somehow I see triple ,
then I edited it again, I soft-rested it, I see my pics 4 times in album, wow that was cool.
now, its back to normal, thanks.
Solved
1. Move to the Album-widget.
2. Click "Albums".
3. Navigate to the album on your storagecard and the folder where your pictures are stored.
4. Click "Menu", click "Set album as favourite".
Real Solution.
We have the solution.
1. Delete the "HKLM \ Software \ HTC \ HTCAlbum" under the "VideoSaveFolder_0409" String.
2. Create a new String "VideoSaveFolder_xxxx" as a value add to "My Pictures".
3. Soft-reset.
Hi, I'm having the same problem. My language is Czech and actually this is my first WM phone, so I don't know my way around. Also I have absolutely no idea where to find the language codes for czech. Can someone please write the instructions for the solution like for a complete idiot? Like where to find the folders and files, what to do etc... Sorry for bothering someone with something like this.
Hi, just do what smuppy advised:
1. Move to the Album-widget.
2. Click "Albums".
3. Navigate to the album on your storagecard and the folder where your pictures are stored.
4. Click "Menu", click "Set album as favourite".
Everything works for me. Now, of course - you have to put all your pictures in this folder !

Hi!
I have the same problem and its very annoying. The solution above not works for me. I have hungarian language on device and i dont know what the correct language code. The HKLM\MUI\Syslang is 1033 and the HKCU\MUI\CurLang is 1038.
I dont understand why set HD2 ALL pictures on device as Camera pictures (in album menu both have the same number)? And in fullscreen (only fullscreen view, the portrait preview and the picture flow work correct) show only the true camera pictures duplicated.
Possibly anybody wrote to htc support already?
OK!
My problem is fixed. I tried every solution in this thread and others but nothing works. At the end take a ROM upgrade from v1.47xxxx to v1.66xxxx WWE east-europe with hungarian language extend and now everything is ok.
Another solution...
I was seeing double when I moved the "My Pictures" folder from my device memory to storage card. So my simple solution was to create an empty "My Pictures" folder and put it back to the device memory. Why it worked? It's because the registry HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Image\SaveFolder_xxxx is pointing to this folder. Without the presence of this folder, it does the weird thing by doubling of the images. The solution worked for me. Another possible solution is to edit this registry key to point to the folder that stores the camera shots... but I have not tried that since I am OK with my current solution for now.

I have a problem with HTC Album, everytime I press the ALBUM command to change the album witch I want to see, the system starts to list foldres and then the white screen with ERROR REPORT appears, and I can't change the album.
Somebody here have a issue like this? (Sorry everyone my english sucks)
I search for a CAB or a registry correction to HTC Album, but I didn't find it.

Have you tried hard reset?
I tried hard reset twice.
The last one I deleted all folders with photos from my sd card before perform Hard reset, and then I tried to use HTC album. The issue continues.
Solution
The HTC Album finally works!
The solution? I removed IGO8 folder from my SD card.
But, I couldn't understand why a GPS software crash the HTC album.
I like IGO very much, but it's really incompatible with HD2.
iGO has nothing to do with it.
If IGO8 hasn't influence with it, why after I removed IGO folder from SD card de htc album returned to work?
You just said a simple phrase but didn't explain a thing. Try to be a little bit useful.
I have the same behavior since I've installed Igo 8.3.4 . When I open Htc Album it starts to look for every image file I have in my storage card and when it gets to the Igo8 folder, the album just closes whitout any warning. I'm using Dutty Leo HolyGrail R0 rom, but I don't think that it's a rom problem, since it started right after I installed Igo 8.3.4
Maybe if there's a way to order Htc album not to look into Igo8 folder this problem would be solved... Is there any way to do such thing?
Edit: As a matter of fact I've checked and the problem is not with HTC Album, it is with WM album... So if there's any way to make the windows album skip or just not read the Igo8 folder, I assume it would solve my problem.
HTC Album is horrible. It will auto-search all possible images and videos in the device. Use other image/video manager tools.
hum... all right but suppose I do like the album the way it is, so still I need to find a way to tell windows album searcher to ignore Igo8 folder... Any help with that?
Go into registry and make the htc album ignore the iGO folder and the problem is solved.
64. Disable Unwanted Folders From Showing in HTC Album
Don't you find it annoying that HTC Album Shows lots of images you don't need to see when you select Albums like GPS poi icons? Now you can tell HTC Album to ignore certain folders.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignored and add a NEW STRING VALUE
Eg if there is iGO8 in the root of the Storage Card you would create a NEW STRING VALUE with Value name iGO8 and Value Data \Storage Card\iGO8
This will include all subfolders inside the iGO8 folder. Save and reset.

Yes, I noted that / is there. I meant how can I insert \. You see, is the same slash, but backwards. I'm just asking because I don't know if the registry "sees" a difference between:
\Storage Card\iGO8
and
/Storage Card/iGO8
Got it? I mean: If i type like the last example I gave to you, the registry will "understand" it right? Or will it only work if I type with the \, like in the first example?
On the second page of the symbols is the \.
When you press the symbol button there's a 1/2 on the left. Press it.

It's not the registry that uses these values. Think of the registry as a database - nothing more.
Anyway, I did mean \, not /. It's on page 2 of the numbers and symbols keyboard ("12#", "1/2").

Hello Guys,
I turn to you for further help.
"My" Jackos Custom kitchen 0415 is almost ready. The ROMs are performing well, but I have some strange bugs for which I can't find any solution. One of them is:
When I go to HTC Album it works fine, but when I press "Albums", the left Softkey, it shows a list of all possible pictures locations, and for some reason it disappears after 4-5 secs. If I manage to choose another album within this few seconds, it still works. But if I do nothing the list closes (together with whole HTC Album application). There is no error message. Just disappearing.
It works fine in WWE but the bug exists in PLK. I checked everything I could find. I thought it's a messed up .MUI file, but I took original Album MUI, changed its' name to 0415 and used, and there's still the same bug
I carefully checked the registry as well, but there are basically no differences between the WWE and PLK registry for the media packages.
The versions are:
Album_3_2_20171632_00
Media_Tool_kit_1_2_20161229_00
WM6.5.3 build 21690
I didn't changed anything in the packages. Just added 0415 files/regs.
UPD:
Problem solved - it was a fault of the files on my microSD card.
probably missing Facebook SDK/SocialNetwork SDK
Thanks ultrashot!
The WWE version of the same ROM works fine, and only PLK doesn't. I don't think Jackos could forget about such things. But perhaps I should add/change some files inside these packages because I don't remember 0409 folders inside them. I will check it and report back.
Update//
Jackos included:
Facebook_Engine_1_1_20153522_00
Inside there is only one module FacebookSDK.dll, provxml with a certificate and of course app.reg, but I couldn't find anything related to language in it. So I didn't touch this package at all. It's cooked in as is.
Social_Networks_Engine_1_1_20182024 from Rhod S2 ROM with 00923 fix from HTC. Inside I could find OnlineAlbumSDK.dll, but no Social Networks SDK.
Originally there wasn't a 0409 folder in it, but because I could find string resources inside HTCAccountManager.exe and Uploader.exe I added a 0415 folder with appropriate .mui files for these two. Do you think they could mess something up?
Social Networks SDK
Click to collapse
typo, of course I meant Social Networks Engine
Check HTCAlbum.exe dependencies using DependencyInspector (and not any other tool because this tool will provide better output). For example, in my roms I have customized SocialNetworksEngine & Album so it has to have one more dll in packages around.
MUI usually can't mess up anything serious.
Then, check album's xmls. Probably they have no entries for plk.
How simple can a bug be!!
The problem is caused by... my Samsung 16 GB microSD card! I just never take it out. And I tested the Album many times, even right after a HR, but the card was in.
Today I tested the card in different phone and in the mean time I made another HR and tested the Album again but... without the card and of course everything works. The "Albums" menu does not disappear!
Now I feel ashamed...
I quickly tested another SD Card (a 2GB nokia) and it works. So right now I'm gonna clear up the 16GB, format it, and put the files back in. We'll see what happens.
UPD:
It seems like something was wrong with the images on the microSD. As soon as I moved all folders with pictures (DCIM, My Pictures, My Wallpapers, Images etc.) the Album worked again. So I don't exactly know what was wrong, but problem solved anyway.
Thanks for your help ultrashot, and sorry for bothering with this stupid problem.
DRM & MediaToolkit
Perhaps you miss your DRM packages (Middleware & Discretix) and MediaToolkit package.

Edit: I see it´s solved. Ok
