IF you mean free then I dont know but theres a link to 22$ unlocking service, not too much.

thats the cheapest so far ... unless you ask your carrier for the sim unlock code. I know in US your carrier has to give it to you after 3 months of service don't know about UK regulations.

Only here they are alllowed to charge you for it, 20 pounds for orange unlock code but thats not even posssible as the phone is only a month old in the UK I think

aah that sucks ... sorry .. That was a suggestion for op as he didn't want to pay the 50 (wait it out another 2 months ).

UK phone providers Orange - will ask for the full value of the contract to unlock it - ie if you have 12 months left at £30 then £360 for the code + unlock fee £20 quidish.
Not sure about T-Mo - but i believe at the end of the contract they will give it for free, but dont say your going to another network, as they'll charge you for the privilidge.
Been there done that... htccode.com appear to be the cheapest at present at £15.
Reviews of service appear to be very positive!

Found this Forum whilst looking for quick way to unlock HTC Touch HD - follwed this recommendation and it's unlocked From sending Paypal payment to getting code took about 5 mins - made contact via MSN and they are really good - if anyone is going to do this, saves asking them the same question as I did - when you enter the unlock code it'll say it's accepted but will then say it's locked again - enter the code once more - that'll do it

The problem is i cannot unlock it i have tried (unlock-HTC.com0 and (htccode.com) both of them gave me the same code for my phone and it didnt work i have attempted it 7 times now and my phone has a long time out in order to try again please is anything i am doing wrong or do i have install something before inserting a sim locked card i am in the process with htccode to see if they can do anything for me or is it a case that the unlocking code isnt available i prepared to pay a donation or what ever it is to get it unlocked thanks.

What's funny, I bought my HD at Bouygues Telecom in Paris. They claimed it's locked to them. Once I came to the hotel and inserted my SIM card - it worked with no problems. They lied! Actually, I think the same thing was at Fnac. They had two versions of the phone - locked to one of French providers for EUR 589 and unlocked for EUR 699. I guess it was the same phone. I bought my one for 549, flashed to WWE and it works like a charm!

The ONLY public or disclosed way at the moment is by code..There are several posts in this forum regarding "unlock via IMEI", also there are many people advertising on $bay.
Working codes will cost around £15 - £20 (they are £10 wholesale so don't buy a code from $bay that costs £4-99).. Codes are getting turned around in less than a couple of hours now.

i was wondering if olipro is working on a sim unlock or all in one unlock like what he did in the past with other htc phones.

not sure for olipro ... seems very busy.

I'm not sure what is this cable, but I think that it will not help you to unsimlock your phone.

So I get a refund from http://www.htcsimunlock.com since there not able to give me the unlock code too...

thanks for the link, i sent mi IMEI and paid by paypal yesterday night, i received the code this morning for 11,95$ as orange asked me like 80 $.
my HTC HD2 was locked by orange FRA, and now it's unlocked with the code they sent to me.
chose the HTC HD2 T8585, wait for the code, then enter another simcard from new provider, enter the pin code of the simcard then it asks to enter the unlock code, and use the one unlockallcellular.com sent to you.
it works 100%, no problem.

HTC HD2 and HTC HD2 T8585 are not exactly the same mobile phone (HTC HD2 is may be the new one that is sold only in US actually)

they dont do t-mobile (uk)

I've got my (2nd) Hd2 locked by t-mo uk , Unlocked.. by phoning t-mo uk and asking them to remove simlock.. cost 15quid, and a 10minute conversation to the carribean explaining to them that no I didn't want a puk code.
When I say unlocked.. I'm waiting for a letter to be sent out with the code on it.. (edit: It arrived 10days later and worked fine.)
I'm using my t-mo sim in my Htc branded Hd2 and have given my t-mo branded Hd2 to my dad to use on his o2 sim.

It was very fast, I receive my unlock code in 1 week day (paid monday 4PM, code received tuesday 8PM), Paris time.

I've make some research over the internet, so i found one program but cannot test it until tonight. I'm so curious if it's working! If someone is interested search for MXKEY HTC UNLOKER UPDATE V1.2 and please give a feedback if it's working or not!

You need a hardware dongle to use that software so unless you have one then no it does not work.

NO ONE CAN UNLOCK T-Mobile HTC HD2

hello,
I just received my new htc hd2 from amazon. the first thing I did after that, was ordering a remote unlock code. the first website that provides unlocking codes had refunded me because they could not find my code in their database.
I did not believe them.
So, I went to another website and also they could not unlock my hd2 and also had refunded me.
Now, How possibly can I unlock it????????

Can any one who has t-mobile nomber help me by calling them and giving them my imei to request an unlock code. I called them and they said that I have to be a current customer at t-mobile to provide me with it.

try this it worked for me , I found a 50% off promotion for an unlocking site - the originally-named cellunlock.net. Was happy enough paying $20USD for the code, given I was emailed it three hours after I submitted the order.

If you got a T-Mobile "US" version, put "T-Mobile US" in the title. The European T-Mobile phones are already unlocked or codes are available for ones that are locked. If you don't know what version of HD2 you have, check the ROM size. If it shows "1024" for ROM size, you have the T-Mobile US version. 512 of ROM and you have T-Mobile European version. All HD2's come stock with 512MB ROM and 448MB RAM. The US version is the black sheep in the family as it has more ROM and RAM out of the box.

Unlocking

This is probably a stupid question but is there an issue with unlocking a Desire HD from Vodafone UK? I was looking for code websites and one for instance said they couldn't supply codes for Desire HDs and Desire Zs etc...
If this is possible are there any recommendations for the UK?

Just ring vodaphone and tell em you wanna use a foreign sim when you go abroad they should give you unlock code

Mine is. Just tried an o2 SIM, worked perfectly.

chrisa86, please don't think I assume ur dumb but are you certain that it's locked? Because I've been on vodafone for quite some time now and mine always came lock free and happy I read smwr there's even some EU laws now against sim-locking phones that expensive ( correct me if im wrong ).
If after all that's the case, I suggest mancuk29's solution. Call, be nice and charming and they'll give u the unlock code.

I think you have to S-OFF your Desire HD, this will allow you to read/write ALL flash

Maybe a fool question but let's assume that we have got a locked DHD (whether Vodafone or something else) and we could not get unlock code from carrier.
In this case, If we root + S-off + recovery + flash a new rom does this transaction make it unlocked?

Sorry, can't elaborate as I don't know how it works. All I can say is SIM unlock usually (always that I know of) has to be done using a code from a site or eBay. It's not part of the ROM.

Ha... I don't currently have the phone (should come tomorrow) but seller has now found out it isn't actually SIM locked... problem solved.
I did however use a code website to unlock my old G2 Hero so my girlfriend can get away from her old Samsung Jet...

Not in OZ. Mine was definately carrier locked to VHA. I went through the 'online' process and it was free. If I had of rang them on the phone to do it it would have cost me $75.
That's easy money for a company that sells phones to people with no idea, and as they believe, no option - whats online mean ??

Yeah done all that (new to Android) but still dont have r/w in the system folder. I can live with it though cause my phone is never off. It's summer, I will work on it when I am out of the pool.

t-mobile UK sent me an unlock code for my DHD in the first week FOC i just asked for one ....

HD2 Netlock/Simlock (german device, O2 contract)

Hello, I got my HTC HD2 from O2 and I use NexusHD2 Android O2.
Now I switched to GalaxyS3 and want to sell the HD2 on ebay.
So do you know if there is any Netlock/Simlock on german O2 HD2 phones? Is there any database in the internet where I can check it?
I don't have non-o2 simcards to proove it myself.

You can ask o2 for an unlock code, or buy one from the many online unlocking websites / eBay sellers.
Note that if you are no longer an o2 customer they may refuse to give you the code.

Full unlock code on IMEI is best bet if you not O2 customer.
I use these guys > PDAmagician.com as never let me down & they are fast & helpful.
You may need to go to windows 6.5 to unlock but try on current android as many have reported it works !

Most phones that come direct from a carriers are locked, except one or two countries where locking is illegal (Denmark or Norway come to mind)
Don't you have any friends/relatives with a non o2 sim you can borrow for two minutes to check?

I just chatted with an O2-worker and he told me that my device is "free for all nets".
So I seem to be lucky.
