Anyone interested in TAThome? - Nexus One General

Here you can join the early access for almost any android phone and give feed back.
This is TAThome for android: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOGmnnGpoqg
And here is the website: http://www.tat.se/
Thank you for your time
P.S i DO NOT work at TAT or have any relations with TAT all right go to TAT engineers and designers.

It looks amazing but I remember a similar demonstration for a 3D TAT interface on the N95 way back when, and nothing ever came of it. Is this getting a definite release?

Seems really interesting...
I would like to try it

I'm not 100% sure about this but i think it will be released because there is a sign up for getting early access, So the only thing to do right now is sign up and hope for the best
P.S i will give feed back and share videos here if i ever get the early access

Yeah, well I've signed up. Let's hope something comes of this

Signed up, too.
I think this is not part of the "Nexus One Development"

Lol, I hadn't even noticed that we were in that section. I assumed it was themes and apps! Probably should be

No, other than the weather widget (which actually does a good job looking natural and making good use of space) I think that it's pretty much a bust. Unnecessary gestures and poor layout/viewing angles, this feely like a "me too" attempt at (ab)use of opengl.

Moved to general......

No thanks.
Looks cool but its just too much eye candy to me.

How do I sign up for early access? I don't see a link on their site.
Thanks

press 'take the tour', you'll see the email notify thingy on the next page
you didn't look around there too awful hard, didja ?

if only there was a way for people to use their software's because I'm sure if they release it to the public there will be a lot of people willing to make GUI's even better then that.

Nice find .
Well, it's ok for an Android device. I don't like the looks though, no keyboard, no d-pad.... but if I had the extra cash, I wouldn't mind playing with it for a couple of months.
Maybe you should post the pics in the OP?
fail to register at se-nse.net, anyone can share at this topic?
Yea, please post the pics, I'm not about to make an account so that i can see the pics on the other forum.
im sure the typing you put into that post whining about it, you could have registered and been looking at them, imo... but.. i'm sure someone will have them up at some point

Oh, c'mon! Killerskincanoe remember that time you beat me to posting the link on the X2 thread? You did it again! I came to post less than 10 mins after the Engadget article, but still you did it before me!
I promise you that when the first mention of the X4 comes out I'll be impossibly vigilant! I will not sleep until I beat you to it! 24/7 without sleep if I need to! Only refreshing Engadget and peeing in a bottle near the PC from now on for me...

this device is rumored to be release on January next year, which is similar to X2
when i see there is a complete UI on X2, and on the other side X3 is still just a fundamental system at dev kit level, i feel a little bit upset...
ok, my bad, may be i expect too much...
the camera still sucks.. how can X2,X3 camera never surpass my old k850.... why wouldnt it got XENON flash

Ha! You can have all those inferior sites. I'm lurking in Engadget although my thumb is sore from the refreshing already...
the 3D pic were in the first thread already. I so like the phone. But it's true, they have to put an UI. I like HTC Sense, so if there is no proper UI I rather hav Hero200.
How is it with Android phones? Could I, f.e., flash a HTC Rom (android) on a SE Android device?

If that is true, then it looks incredibly cheap and tacky!
Winmo7 with HTC sense over the top to make it look half decent again lol
looks like microsoft are trying to make the today screen look like a bog standard phone so as not to scare away people who have never used windows mobile previously.
if that home screen isnt customisable then ill eat my hat.

Ok this is very weird!
Over at one of the biggest gadget site's engagdet.com people are very positive about this! I come to XDA, then I see this. Why are you so negative??
IMO, this at least shows they are going a NEW way with WM7. I am really really excited about this.. just 2,5 hours left!

Nice. The lack of a gazilion tiny task-specific buttons indicates that WM 7 is gonna have a real touch-based interface. I like that.
very nice interface
I want that for my HD2
IMHO - that looks really nice - now I just hope that it will be made available for the HD2...

far too many rumours and photoshopped stuff going around these days. easy to get excited and think that a lot of stuff is coming, only to find out it was a fake or was removed from the final released version.
As long as it's configurable (i.e.: I can get rid of it!), the interface doesn't bother me.

I'm just bored of rumour this, rumour that. I'd rather see it working than a print on a wall.
Loved the UI! Exactly what I was expecting! Its the User Experience that matters rather than the User Interface! And MS has done that this time!
Around half and hr to go now! Lets wait and watch!
Hold your horses... Maybe it's the WM6.6... ?
Damn people ...
Take it easy guys till Microsoft shows this thing, .... I think the preview looks good. lets hope there is more to it than that tho!

TAT 3D interface working on a desire

Hi Everyone
The Engadget show, demo'd some great UI's from TAT using 3D on a desire!
Take a look:
Engadget Show around 59min http://podcasts.aolcdn.com/engadget/videos/show/engadget_show_013_hd.mp4
or direct on youtube:
3D Map UI: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InBOO8jrnM0
could be a real possibility! Hope its gets leaked!
2D/3D List:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I5reODnVdc
The clip from Engadget is much better, the host even jokes about the apk file
OH MY LIFE!
Been waiting on news from TAT for months. Glad to see it working on the Desire. Doubt itll leak though, theyve been testing for a year or so and no one has dropped anything. Dont wven know if any testers had posted anything about it.
Sent from my HTC Desire
The demo showcases what is possible with the desires hardware and possible routes for future smartphone UI's
It can offer us so much more. Just need more devs on board!
Well, if we can generated a lot of interest, we might see some movement from TAT!

Just shows that HTC arent the only ones to make a great overlay system on Android. Theyve taken the benchmark and gone an extra mile with their work.
I absolutely love everything ive seen from TAT, its just visually stunning and looks easy to use. Heard they arent going to release it publically via the market etc, but that was a while ago and its come a long way since then.
Sent from my HTC Desire
wow thats awesome.
hope its not true that they wont release it publicly
thats pretty immense.
not a fan of sense, and android being ugly, this pretty much has me gobsmacked.
would happily kill people to get this.
I'm sure someone would be able to "acquire" this, seeing as the people here have repeatedly performed the impossible, and done nothing short of miracles
I look forward to this, even more than gingerbread or the new sense
only problem now, this will now haunt my dreams till it's on my desire

Over a year of testing on old devices and now up to date ones, not a single apk has been leaked. Theyve done the best job at keeping it hush than any other devs and im impressed by it. Annoyed, but impressed
Sent from my HTC Desire
They have apparently released a few TAT home beta "previews"
"Why wasn't I part of the UX Preview?
We were completely overwhelmed by the number of people who signed up. To keep things under control and take care of feedback in a good way, we could send the preview out to only a few of the 60,000 who offered to participate."
http://tat.se/home/
Surely someone would of leaked it, but heh.
EDIT: It seems like the UI is a "for sale" basis to vendors who want a custom UI. So no marketplace apk, maybe a flashable zip, but chances are, it's going to be like sense. A major annoyance
Found a Fuse concept phone bearing the TAT3D which has been designed by thealloy.com, who, judging by their website, have worked with several large UK companies to bring "interesting" styles to the home...

Without actually using the app, how can one dismiss the concept so quickly? I guess the tilt with have accelerateometer setting allowing you to adjust sensitivity. If you need a simple contact list, open the stock contact widget!

If you would have read on the right side , $5.00. I think it looks pretty cool & worth supporting. Can you create that & if so how many hours will you have to put in to make sure it works on all platforms ( excluding GD Apple) ? I've noticed you have a tendency to jump to conclusions although I agree with 90% of your posts.
Cheers my friend & have a pint on me,
Bob
Edit: I forgot to mention, take a look thru that site if you feel so inclined. I only look thru the tech category as that's where my interests are, I think you'll find it interesting. Nice to know there are still creative minds out there.
$5 per donation, yes. But they claim they need $50k to get the project released, and I call shenanigans on that.
Could I make something similar? Sure. I'm a professional developer by trade, have been for 25 years, and assuming I had the time available, I doubt it'd take me much more than a couple of months to write. A homescreen launcher that though, whilst a complex app, is not going to cost $50k to develop unless your programmers are massively overpaid, or they're way overstaffed; not really something Kickstarter actually meant for.
Look at all the other homescreen apps out there; some very mature and excellent products. Not seen ANY of them trying their luck on Kickstarter before, and with good reason, too.
I wish these guys' success, and I'll happily pay even up to $10-£15 for their app assuming it's as good as it looks on the video, but not until it's on the market. I'm not paying a single cent for vapourware, which is all it is right now.
theres a thread going in themes and apps, most likely where this shoulda been posted. Search is your friend.

$50k for a kickstarter? First instinct is yes... it is too high. But look at Instagram.
ONE
BILLION
DOLLARS
For an app. Not a company, an app.
Throw all common sense to the wind now. But at least, $50k will buy the devs a lot of pizza and beer while they toy with this idea.
I hope this comes out, looks so good.

Living With The eLocity A7+

I started a blog that gives an in-deth look at the A7+ so that developers and consumers alike can check it out without actually buying the device. I've noticed that there are very few reviews or videos on the A7+, so those will be coming to the blog.
I don't mean for this to be an advertisement for my blog (it's really only temporary), it's just that I really couldn't find any info on the device, and am hoping to prevent that for future buyers. Also, if a developer sees this and says "hey! I'd like to develop for that device" then that would be awesome .
(because I can't post links yet, add the .com to the end)

Thanks, man. Really useful. Looks like 1saleaday put it up for sale again for $90 and I'm thinking about getting it. I think it will come up in the future so this is a great resource. Very detailed information.
Could you do some videos? I am wondering about the pinch to zoom. I heard it was horrible when it came out but then they released a firmware to make it better. Have their been releases after that to improve pinch to zoom?
I also heard you mention bugs/shortcomings in another thread. Could you talk about those as well on your page?

That was the A7, NOT the A7+. This is exactly why I started the blog- so many people confuse the two
The A7 had "1 + 1" input, which is NOT true multitouch.
The A7+ has 4 points multi-touch.

Are you referring to the ROMs? Because ALL the custom ROMs by Dexter have some pretty major bugs (depending on how you look at them). Videos and posts will be written about the ROMs after I finish checking out the stock firmware.
