Sorry about starting a new thread but i couldn't find anything re my question i'm about to ask...
I own the HTC HD2 and have put the 1.66 rom on my phone, great everything is working great, however after alot of arguing with Vodafone they have now accepted to replace my phone with a new one..
Now here's the issue i need to find the original Software for my phone:
ROM: 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWE
ROM Date: 10/26/09
I've been onto HTC website and can't find it there so any help please would be great, if at all possible could you provide a link rather than having to look for it?
If i was to do a master reset would that put it back to the original?
I'm panicking as Vodafone have said my new phone will be here in 2 days... And if i don't put they phone back to the original then they won't replace it, i only put the 1.66 as i thought i wasn't going to get this sorted... Patience is a wonderfull thing and so is Heinsite...
this can be good starting point:

Help a Noob
Hi,
I recently aquired a Qtek 2020i, and this is my first time in the PDA world, but it hangs all the time. So I'm hopping you guys can help me to update the ROM to something more stable.
I've been around the forum and found out how to backup my ROM to a SD card, so that is what i'm going to do first... to be safe.
Now I've downloaded this ROM version. And, by the read me file included in the rar file, it will be very simple to run the update... Actually I thought it would be very much harder
The question is:
Must I thake any special security steps other than the original ROM backup? Or can I just go for the update?
Thanks for any help you can get me
Done
Update successfull
I'm gone evaluate this ROM... Hope it's better than original
I'm searching for the original german ROM for Polaris. In the ROM Section there is only O2 Version of it.
I am searching for it too...
i dumped mine. but i did not yet reflash it. i can upload it if you want to test it. but at your own risk.
ID: POLA100
ROM: 1.25.407.1 GER (12/17/07)
RADIO: 1.58.21.23
PROTO: 25.65.30.04H
SPL: 1.25.0000
CPLD: 2
Ok, pls upload, this is my last try.
http://rapidshare.com/files/102226089/RUU_signed.7z
it is the dumped OS, maybe its ok for all.
@ daze81
And, have you tried the image? Does it work?
had to search the tools for updating the rom with your version (after i tried the wm6.1 version
i let you know next days ...
thanks
cu camel
thanks would like to know if it works
Well, if the SPL isnt included, you basically can't brick your device (I might be mistaken about that though ). Youll always be able to fall back to the bootloader (multi color screen) and then just reflash a working ROM.
ok, there is no SPL included. i just dumped the original OS and rebuilded it. nothing else.
I guess I gonna give it a quick shot before I flash the next bepe... unless somebody else is first and confirms your working backup before I get the chance to do so.
Did anybody try?
Hi to all!
Did anybody try the original german Polaris dump (http://rapidshare.com/files/102226089/RUU_signed.7z)?
Or does anybody have a working original german ROM?
I don't want to flash another ROM before I don't have a working "backup" for warranty issues.

the user hyson told me that this rom seems to work. i did not test it for myself yet.
you'll need hard-spl and a custom ruu to flash it. then you can go back to original spl.

Thanks for the information! Let's trust Hyson
@ Schaggo: sorry for full quote, but I have to say thanks for both information....
I got fed up with those cooked ROMs. I'm downloading and flashing the dazes dump (thanks bro!) right now. I'll report how dead my orbit is afterwards...
<edit hmm... yeah, it's looking good. Its booting, definitively German and everything seems in order... />
The ROM looks good ... seems to indeed be the orig. German ROM.
But what Radio ROM did Daze81's Polaris have ?
Since I may have to return my Polaris to HTC for repair, I want to make sure it's the way it was before I used some cooked ROMs. (And I can't remember what Radio ROM it had ).
Cheers,
Andreas
It has no Radio included. And if you want to go for warranty, you can reflash Radio 1.58.21.23 which was the original Radio.
You'll find it in the original German orbit 2 ROM thread which is linked in my signature. I provided the Radio as well in the other thread...
Schaggo,
thanks for the info and the link !
Cheers,
Andreas
dumped german rom
excuse me, how do i flash the xxxxx.7z file?? must I unzip it in any way??
thank you for answering
www.7zip.org is the tool of your choice. use the file inside this archive with Custom_RUU for example.

I am quite new to this website and have been trying to read as much as i can about the forum. I recently purchased the HTC HD2 from Vodafone UK at the beggining of the month, i have had the phone for two weeks and love it!
After reading about the release of the new 1.48 ROM i went onto the HTC UK wesbite and tried to download the released ROM onto my computer, however after entering my phone serial number and clicking submit it says:
'Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device'
Can anybody help me with this my current ROM is: 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWE
I don't quite understand why it does not let me download the new ROM.
Thankyou.
Please delete this thread i have found the problem. Sorry for the thread, did not do my research fully before creating it!
Hi
Sorry if this is a newb question and I've missed something obvious.
I'd like to upgrade an O2 branded hd2 to the generic latest ROM using the goldcard method described here. I understand this invalidates the warranty.
Is there any way of restoring the phone to its original state to circumvent this?
Thanks.
I would like to know this as well as im thinking of sending back my HD2 to o2 but cant as ive upgraded to 1.48.
Or is it worth sending back as it is now and then play dumb if they contact me to tell me its not got the original stock rom?
im with T-Mobile and upgrade it on ROM: 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE - Radio: 2.05.51.05_2 last weeks and never had any prob yet and sim card works fine
Dump your ROM before upgrading. For how to do that search on the forum.
I'm also with O2, & they told me that as long as the ROM is an official one from the HTC website this won't invalidate your warranty
Not sure what the policy is with T-Mobile though
I did find a O2 rom on here somewhere, cant remember where, I havent used it yet, but im uploading it to rapidshare now and will provide a link. So if anything does go wrong you can just flash back to the O2 rom to be on the safe side.
I have returned a phone to O2 before that was HSPLed and they never said anything, but they sent out a new phone and picked up the old one at the same time.
O2 Rom...

Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum and to HTC in general, so there are a few newbie questions on the way.
I got a Touch HD in China yesterday. Since it came with a Chinese ROM, I asked the guys to change it with an English one, thinking that I would have no trouble getting the new EU update from the HTC webpage by myself. I read a bit about it on these forums, but the more I read the more confused I get - I have absolutely no idea what SPL, USPL, HSPL, CID and all those things mean and what one is supposed to do with them.
When I switch the phone on, the bottom right part of the loading screen says this:
R 1.14.25.24
G 52.64.25.34H
D 1.59.Dutty
When I go into Settings>System>Device Information>Version, I have the following:
ROM version: Duttys HD XT V3.8 WWE
ROM date: 21/06/09
Radio version: 1.14.25.24
Protocol version: 52.64.25.34H
Now, as I said above, I want to install the stock EU ROM from the official HTC website - what is the simplest way to do this? I'm really sorry for asking something which has probably been asked a gazillion times by now, but when it comes to phones - I've no idea what to do. Do I just go ahead and download the update and install it, or it's not as easy as that? What if I download the ROM and go ask the guy at the shop to install it for me?
P.S I somehow managed to get to a three-color screen and it said SPL-156.OliNex, if that's any help.
P.P.S With the serial number I have I can only download the new ROM from the Taiwanese website. Will I still be able to install a European ROM on a phone manufactured for Taiwan?
