Flash games - HD2 General

Is there any way to play flash games on the HD2? Doesn´t Opera 10 support flash? It would be so great to be able to play any flash game in the browser!

You could try running them in the Skyfire browser.

It doesn´t work. I´ve installed Adobes Flash Player for mobile devices, tried IE, Opera 9, Opera 10 beta 3 and now Skyfire.
Lets say I´d like to play the extremely addictive game desktop tower defense (google it) on my HTC HD2. Is this possible in any way atm?

this one works for me in IE.. but no way to control it.. maybe with a bluetooth keyboard? I don't know the game..

maybe you should deinstall the flashplayer you installed.. The HD2 has the latest flash lite player pre-installed..

i looked ino this a couple of weeks ago with no joy. besti did was find a couple of tower defence games written 4 win mo.

Can't play any flash videos

Hi,
I've just installed the latest WM6 rom on my 8525 and also installed Flash player 7 along with the java addons. I've tried viewing videos from youtube and mtv from both internet explorer and opera mini 4 beta 3 but any video i click it always says flash player not installed and click here to go to adobe etc.... Can someone help me configure it so I can play flash videos? thanks
cmon, somebody has to have an answer for this. I can't load any videos on standard pages for myspace, mtv, youtube, etc. it says javascript is either turned off or you dont have the right player. I downloaded flashplayer 7. Running mini opera 4 beta 3 and pocket IE as well as picsel browser.
Mobile browsers not designed for video
Neither of the browsers you are trying are capable of displaying flash based videos. The Opera Mini will probably never support them because it is a Java based browser for use on most any phone. There is a Windows Mobile Opera that is in beta, last I heard, that claims to support flash based videos, however the only thing I could get it to do was crash my 8525, forcing me to soft reset, at which time I then uninstalled it completely. As you will see in the instructions at one of the links below, there is one more file you can download that will play the videos, which seems to be accomplished through the link from internet explorer triggering the thirdparty app to open and strat trying to play the video.
You could try the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326225, however I have not tried them and can not confirm for you if they work.
The way I currently play these type files is using a program called AvotMV. AvotMV has a internet browser type feel to it, and when you play the videos it will automatically play them "full" screen (in portrait mode). If you want to try AvotMV, you can download it for free from the developers here here http://www.avotmedia.com/
the tcpmp and flashbundle works beautifuly. especially on a highspd connection. the newest version givesthe choice dowloading or streaming it. You will have to unistall flash7 as it will clash with flashbundle plugin. I posted awhile back if some could figure out how to get them to work together or at least independently on different browsers because the tmpcp flash plugin will only play videos not other flash content.
That explains it...
I have the official flash 2.1 from adobe for WM5/6 which allows me to use one of the spinning cube flash controllers. Would be nice if someone could figure it out because this does not look like it will work for me until a fix is made.

Leo does not launch embeded flash

i read that HD2 has a flash player but if you look at this site
www.expedia.com
the portion of flash (to the right) will not be seen
The HD2 comes with a standalone Flash Lite player, for playing SWF files.
Opera does not support Flash (I think the Opera 10 beta may do, but the default installed version 9.7 does not), but IE does.
It's not the phone that plays Flash files. It's the software.
You can also get get Skyfire, a free alternate browser. However, Opera gives a really better browsing experience, so the best choice would be to keep Opera for standard browsing, and use Skyfire for flash.
the Flash Lite player does not play my .swf files??
is this the reason why my kids could not use my HD2 to play on facebook/farmville ?

Flash Player

Just got a htc Touch 2.
Installed opera mobile v10b2, works great. Having problem getting a flash player for it. Can't play video or flash games.
Tried adobe site. v7 doesnt work on our wm6.5
It installs but still dont play video on iplayer etc
Any advice...?
You should try skyfire. It works pretty well on my mega. There are a lot of videos on youtube about it. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the reply htctouch2PT
I tried Skyfire... and my response was.. "eewww"
Compared to Opera10, its really a mess. It reminds me of Yahoo homepage from back in the days.
Anyone else got any suggestions on where I can get flash player fro opera mobile10?
...or if Adobe are going to release a new version of flash player for ppc

You need Opera 9.5 / 9.7 and this: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770. I've personaly installed it on my Mega and works flawlessly with YouTube.

It used to be possible to play them in Internet Explorer, but I've a feeling the BBC may have changed the format recently. I don't think they'll play in Opera Mobile 10, either, even though that does have some flash support. Your best bet is probably to use Skyfire.
They work in IE just fine for me, even the watch live streams for bbc2 ,3 etc work the only videos that dont work for me on the BBC site are the Live bbc 1 stream and iPlayer which show green and garbled stuff
Opera has never worked on the bbc videos for me at least, always moans about no javascript enabled or wrong version of flash
just tried to use IE and when I click a video IE crashes and closes. very anoying.....
Try, http://get.skyfire.com/.
thanks, i have used skyfire and it works ok but seems v slow compared to opera. I was trying to see if its possible just to have one browser that does everything! I guess not. It's very annoying and the only thing that really niggles me about the HD2. You'd think browsing would be the thing they'd really want to sort but no..... we still have to use 2 or 3 browsers depending on what we want to do. A bit of a joke really......
I hope some clever bod here can somehow get flash 10 to work on the HD2 seeing as it now seems that Adobe aren't!! I wonder if I could sue adobe? You spend £300+ on a handset as they say the HD2 will be the first WM device to support flash10 then a few weeks after I splash out they announce that they are no longer doing so!!! ggggrrrrrr

Good luck!!! untill WP7 and then the adobe flash release for it your going to struggle. Did i say struggle?! i meant suffer.
But at least it's better than what the iPhone has, which is no flash at all. There is a reason for it but i'm on the beer tonight and i can;t remeber the exact details but it has something to do with most sites running flash 10.1 and WM can't thanks to MS missing out a couple of API's in WM 6.5 that were planned to be there.
With IE mobile you can play flash. Only if it is on youtube.
Surf with IE mobile to www.pocketnow.com or wmpoweruser.com and click on one of the vids (linked to youtube). And volia it plays in HTC player.
I have not had any issues with flash sites in skyfire, what sites in particular where you having trouble with? the youtube app is best too browser youtube with but i havent found any site that dont work which require flash when viewed in skyfire :S
Hi,
I've just installed uZard web browser and it's played everything I've thrown at it - it even plays flash games, not just videos.
Cheers,
Inclement

Oh dear, looks as though the spin doctors at Adobe have got to you. Have seen flash 10.1 running on the hd2 and it looks great (have a look around the devs section on adobe website for video). Adobe binned it because there was no point in spending any more time, effort and money in releasing it for "a dead os", and came up with that excuse which, rightly so, points the finger at M$.
