Very often I have to write an SMS with one hand, but it is impossible with Qtek 2020.
I would like to find a software where you can write an SMS with the standard mode (like on normal GSM) with standard numbers 1-9 with letters on them.
I use D9 to find the contact and I think it is very usefull.
When you find a contact and you tap the SMS button near the number it should be very appriciated to have a standard GSM input letter mode (like T9) instead of default SMS client of WM.
Do someone know if a software like this exists?
Thanks for the answer,
Urosh
GO to www.yorch.net and look under "software".
I' don't find any software I described before.
Please let me know which one do you think do what I said.
Thanks,
Urosh
I apologise, I thought it was on yorches site, here is the link for you, it is a superb piece of software and it is FREE. Anybody else wants a brilliant sms program make sure you get it too.

I just found a bug in this program when running on xda2, if you push "select" button when entering phone number it gives an error, but ig you spend a little time inserting all your often used numbers you can use the drop down becuase it remebers the last 20 numbers that you have used, its worth a little time to set it up becuase it saves a lot of time in the long run.
Actually it's not working at all with my mda ii It says: message sent successfully, but later on-message not delivered Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Is there a special format in which I have to put the number of receipient?
i think, only way is spb fullscreen keyboard or typeango ..
It's working fine on my XDA-II with T-Mobile ROM 1.60. The only thing is that if I am trying to send to local mobile number I have to enter the number with '+', country code etc. while I could use 'short' number with ordinary mobile phone.

Ok, that seemed to do the trick. Tnx a lot, it's working now flawlessly. But, I still have another question -how do you input "+" directly from the SMSwriter. "+" is on the same key as the "0" and whatever I do I keep getting "0". Of coarse, I could call up the keyboard but for that would again need a stlyus
Its a serious shortcoming, its a pity somebody couldnt patch on the ability to select searchwhich would bring up the contacts list, any offers from you programmers please???
unfortunately, found no way around it, I used to enter '+' with soft keyboard using a pen. The only temporary solution which comes to my mind is the list of numbers used to send SMS already (there should be some 25 numbers kept).

For me is impossible to use this software only with my fingers.
It has too small dialogue boxes (to find the contact).
For me the best solution would be to have a D9 program that integrates a SMS client which has the same keypad which is at the start of the program (with big buttons) to write to message (when the contact has just been selected).

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone else might be having a similar problem with 'caller [or texter] ID'.
Most networks, as I understand it, use the international dialing code when sending out texts and calls, meaning this is usually the incoming number when you recieve a text or call.
I've obviously got people programmed into my contacts who text me but when they do, I don't get their name, I get their number - with the dialling code eg. +447750500500. When I tap to go into the threaded mode, I'll get all previous contact with this person but with them identified only as the number. However if I head to the People tab, then again to see the messages I've sent/recieved with that person, I get the same messages only under the banner of their name and not the number.
I believe calls work fine with the code programmed in on their contact profile.
Anyone know why this is being caused?
I have the same problem. Both calls and text messages.
I don't think it matters if the international code is there or not.
Really frustrating not knowing who calls.
I've had this problem first time the device was initialized (right after opening the box). It might be caused by the fact I didn't have any SIM in it at that time, I'm not sure.
After a hard reset with a SIM inserted, everything started working as it's supposed to.
Hmm, I've changed the SIM, but I can't remember if it worked wih the first SIM card.
But a hard reset deletes everything, right?
There are a few things you have to be sure of:
Do not have double contacts, if you have a number (with and without operator/country prefix) twice in your list it will not show any name.
I don't know if this applies if you have a contact on your phone memory and on your sim card. I am sure it does have this problem if you have two contacts with the same number on the memory phone.
For some reason this is logic: On an incoming call, the phones checks it's phonebook and retrieves two numbers and then it does not know what to display, is it contact one, or two?
I hope this helps you out. I did not experience any problems (yet).

Try this....
1. Edit one "test number" in your contacts and remove international codes.
Just put that "test" tel number. without int. codes... And make sure that number is not stored nder another contact. (No duplicates.)
2. Then dial from that number and see if that tel# is identified. If you have just "0xx-123456" then go to #3.
3. Go to registry and change of the Caller ID match rule. (Minus one digit.)
Example: Caller ID rule:8 (Change from 8 to 7 or 6 to 5 .. trailing digits for Call ID match. )
* HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:7
4. Restart and test again...
5. If its OK, than test with SMS.
6. If its OK again , put back your international codes and test again.
7. If not go to no.3
Hope this helps.

Hi guys!! i had this problem too but i have fix the problem. what i do:
!) i store all my contacts in my sim card and delete the contacts in the phone.
2)do a hard reset
3)upon doing the hard reset, the phone will prompt you on importing sim contacts and finding your service provider. select both and and press ok
4)now try to call from your house to your phone to do a check.
5)my problem was solved after this
hope it helps!

What was happening to me before the reset was a bit different - the phone wasn't able to match anything at all - even a number called from the phonebook and stored in "recent calls" in EXACTLY the same way it's in contact, didn't match to the contact when redialed.
I think that something required for Caller ID to work gets done when the phone is first initialized, and that this step requires full access to the phone module (which the phone doesn't have without a SIM inserted and a proper PIN entered).
hi,
i encountered also that worry,
i set the HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:9
my mobile phone number to test was stored as "06xxyyzzww"
and when i phone my diamond2 from that number
the caller id is recognized
(with showing as +336wwxxyyzz)
i tested from my home phone stored in contacts as 04wwxxyyzz
i rang my topaz its was identfied as my home,
(with showing as +334wwxxyyzz)
i am in france, + is for 00 ,our phone numbers are 10 digits long
(mobiles and "home") ,
to be joined from abroad, you have to dial +33+phone number WITHOUT the first digit "0")
so the "9" value i put in the registry
if it could help you

Hi,
just stumbled over the same problem.
The old phone (HTC P330) resolved numbers from my used format 01234-56789.
Since my contacts are a mess, I have 01234-12345, +49-123456-456, +49 (0123)-456 and so on, it would be a great pain in my ass to switch every contact to +49123-456 (which the new phone resolved).
I compared the Registry-Entry from the P3300 with the TD2 and voila: TD2 was 12, P3300 had the value 8.
I changed the TD2 to value 8, reboot and now I'm happy again, the phone is getting used to my contact list

Heiko
Hi,
I'm experiencing the exactly same problem, that incomming calls or messages isn't shown by name, but only by number.
I'm all new to Windows mobile, but I tried downloading a regeditor, and experimented with different values in the CallIdMatch string. However, no succes.
I live in Denmark, where numbers look like +4512345678, where +45 is the international code. Can someone please tell me, what should be the correct value? The original values was 8.
I have further found that some contacts are recognized. What the difference is between the groups, are however unclear!
Caller ID problem, my solution
I had the same problem. But after a hard reset it seems to work just fine now. Remember to backup your downloaded programs etc before doing this.

Hi,
"8" should be the good figure for you, as in France
we have phone numbers +33987654321
and "9" is the good value for me, in:
HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:
Edit: i remove previous "edit"
in fact all my contacts had been erased" so it was normal to have no caller ID?
ps: is your carrier sendind all the figures when you're receiving calls, i mean +4512345678
so perhaps you're encountering a bug .
you should try to backup your device, with a soft like spritebackup(special price for htc owners on their webpage) and experiment an hardreset
and restore

Hi ,
did you ever try to change the following:
RegistryEdit and Decreasing the CallIDMatch from 12 to 7 solved my Issue
See below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone" name="CallIDMatch"
Greetings from Slovenia
Hello,
that is my first post so please do not be very critical to my english level and PPC skills .
now this is an old thread but for BULGARIA the correct registry value is "9". Here the mobil numbers are as follows "08xx 123456" (9 digits without the ZERO at the very beginning). that is why the usefull number is that (default for my TD2 was 8). Now after this fix the phone can correctly identify which number i want to dial when i am inserting it by digits, instead of selecting the exact person. i do not know am i explaining correctly but i will try to put some more detail on that. When i want to dial some particular number (for example "08xx 123456") the phone select me the correct contact no matter how i put this contact in memory. with "+3598xx 123456" or only with "08xx 123456". before that intervention the phone identifies me the correct contact only if i type the digits, exactly the same way that i have added it to the memory. So i think that this registry key does not have a universal resolution. the resolution depends on how many digits is using tha particular mobile operator.
i hope that will be helpful for someone who is happy to own an HTC and is happy with it ... like Me
Hello All,
I realized that there are missing entries at the call history for a spesific contact.
I talked to a friend 4 times (I initiated the call 2 times and he initiated the call 2 times.).
When I tap the contact card icon in the phone application, it takes me to the contact. When I tap Call History icon there I only see 2 calls which were initiated by me.
I want this because when I receive a lot of calls from a spesific contact, I simply delete the history for that contact. Otherwise when I look at the call history I see only that contact. If I talk to my girl friend 10 times a day, there will be 100 entries in the call history by the end of 10 days.
I was able to do that by tapping Call History > Contact > Delete All Calls with my HD and Diamond.
Anyone experiencing this? Is this a bug?
I am using the stock ROM (RUU_Leo_HTC_TUR_1.61.468.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship)
Best Regards.
Yes, I have noticed it yesterday. It didn't register a few calls. I have tried to find out the reason why. I have noticed that, while it happened, another program was running in the background, but I do not know if that is exactly the reason.

I wonder if its because it only shows the most recent time? Like I have that problem in the main Call History list.
Example:
Your friend calls at 2:30pm.
Your friend calls again at 3:00pm.
You call him at 3:30pm.
You call him again at 4:00pm
It'll only show his 3.00pm and your 4:00pm entry, because it is the latest time.
For me it is roughly the same. If I call someone twice, and in-between those two times no other calls were sent or recieved, I don't get two entries for the two times. The old one gets replaced by the new one.
I think the default WinMo doesn't do this (at least it didn't on the Xperia).

Yes you are. Can you please post your rom versions?
I am downloading 1.66 Asian ROM from HTC at the moment. I hope this will be fixed with the new rom.
Is there anybody experiencing this issue with WWE 1.48 Shipped ROM?
Many thanks...
I am using the 1.61 TUR/WWE ROM, and also downloading the 1.66 ROM at the moment.
But I doubt it will change in the new version. I got the feeling it was designed that way in HTC Sense, and probably needs a hack / tweak for it to show every incoming / outgoing call as its own entry.
I am now using the new ROM (RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship) and nothing changed about the call history issue...
Hi,
I posted this on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49978192
as I was utterly ignored (probably my fault) I am reposting here, hopefuly is both the right place and it gets the right visibility.
--->
I am sure if this relates to this post, but as I unlocked the phone using this method I hope someone else can help.
I follow the steps listed here to unlock the phone and I am using it with NET10 in USA. My SPH-L720 has a NET10 card in it and I am connected to their network (No LTE, but the internet is still fast enough). I also changed the method listed here to change the phone number listed on settings ##MLS# and enter the number on both fields.
At this point everything works on the phone except for a really annoying detail.
Every call I get (and these are local US calls, not international) has a + (plus sign) at the front.
this is triggering two problems
1- the number shown on the caller id of the incoming call does not always match a number on my phone book. This is a problem as I don't know who is calling.
2- if I dial back, to call the number who called me, the call does not go through.
Now, if I go to the address book I can call any saved number.
The SIMM card i put on this S4 came from a Galaxy S2, which was working perfectly (not having these issues) - (I had to cut it to make it a micro)
At this point the only solution I have found is to use a program called Prefixer (apk) which will change the first character of every outgoing call to a +1. This of course will force me to edit every number on my phonebook and add the + (as otherwise prefixer will be changing any "first" character into a +1). I do have a lot of numbers
I wonder if someone can come up with a solution which does not involve something like this.
I hope the issue is understood, it has taken me three days to explain it to the NET10 team, and all they always asked was if I needed to make an international call (retards) :/
Thanks for all the help.
This is my work around so far, but I wish I could find a native solution to the problem
1- I exported all my contacts from google and fixed all the number in my address book only to include area code and number (no other symbols or spaces, etc) as in 305765342
2 downloaded: Prefixer from 253°Below (sorry I am new, can't post links)
I programmed two incoming and two outgoing rules using regular expressions to remove the + and +1 in front of numbers
The only annoying thing is that that app vibrates and provides a notification everytime one of the rules is triggered.
I wonder if anyone has a better idea on how to fix this.
Thanks
hi Android Community,
i am just about to reorganize my phonebook, i have used different methods of saving numbers to my phonebook e.g. for germany 004996122222 for person xyz, 0049 stands for country code 961 stands for area code and 22222 stands for the landline, usually Android displays incoming calls like this area code "space" and landline number, it also displays the city where the area code belongs too e.g. waidhaus which is near my hometown.
i still have misc problems the way android formats these numbers. still no problems calling contacts, but one issue was when i type the phone number manually android only suggests me the phone number of one specific person i have in my phonebook either i type in this persons phone number or another persons phone number (manually!!) this is way of wrong.
it displays me this persons name either it is this persons number or any other. i have had this bug years ago with my first htc desire still preserving; it started when beginning saving phone numbers the lol way e.g. 004996122222 where it was not necessary to save it this way unless you are in holidays abroad
due to different formatting of phone numbers from persons around the globe because of the int code &the different way of handling of the leading zero according the country you call to i still have issues, i know there is a way you can edit phone nr in google contacts (gmail) so that it can be updated with next sync. but that did not helped me, still issues from what i have written above
is there a app available that removes this bug of only displaying this one persons contact either i type in his number or anyone else, i think it is because of googles data collection rage and/or my sold htc desirewhich may have had a bug in htc sense and the availability of updates for this device (now i have sgs3 and cm whatever version i dont know and have no issues atm)
or maybe it was because of my mistake setting the phone number the proper way, i think there is no wrong in setting the phone number the way +1NewYorkCityAreaCodeBureauofPersonXYZ but i did probably made a mistake in doing this way making it difficult to reorganize my phonebook.
the problem with this has nothing to do with outgoing calls as there are no problems when typing 004996122222 it always works well (destination germany either i am in germany or abroad), but when a incoming call comes from a saved contact i suggest that it would properly display the orign of the call (only as it is with landline numbers either it is within a country or abroad but no mobile numbers as there are limitations to this),
i wonder if anybody can tell me if there is a builtin library in Android that handles this task i would appreciate your answers to this topic even if i could have written a book on this topic,
wishing you can be indulgent too on my write rage even if it could be explained a smarter way, if you have questions feel free to ask.
