HD2 keeps losing all data... help? - HD2 General

Hello all...
I'm wondering if anyone can help me? (Yes, I know, I sound like a NooB)
Since HSPL'ing my HD2 and installing custom ROMs my mobile keeps crashing and won't start again. I take my battery out and put it back in but the phone won't boot properly. It freezes on the initial purple swirl at the beginning. The only way I can get the phone to boot is to do a hard reset.
I've tried a few stable ROMS but I'm having the same issue with all of them.
I'm using the UK Tmobile HD2.
Any ideas would be appreciated as I'm going out of my mind.

different roms are different lengths, and flashing doesn't wipe the memory before flashing the new rom so stuff can be left over from the previous rom causing instability.
go have a read of the mtty thread in rom development.

Thanks samsamuel...
Looking at it now. It's been so frustrating... I have been tempted to throw it out the window on several occasions.

Hardware error??? HELP

Hello,
my friend's /he dodn't speak english/ Leo have problem. The notifications of WM automatically pops up. It start slowly and as time goes on it pops up more frequently and faster. It is impossible to work on it. He tried to flash custom ROM again, but any change.
He tried to remove the screen protector but no luck.
He wearing his Leo in his pocket , but there are any physical changes on the Leo
ANY IDEA?
try going back to the stock (provider) rom.using custom roms can leave old files after flashing which can cause problems.
if that doesn't help try using mtty to format the phone and then flash a new rom.
okey, i tell him, but i can't believe to this because i use the same rom. this problem started after 2 weeks of using the rom.
but thank you very much and i will translate this to him.
hope it will help
okey. he tried to reflash the shipped rom but no luck. tried few hard reset and no luck. today he gonna try myty.

HTC Sense problems

Hi, I've been having some issues with HTC Sense on the Leo i bought a couple of weeks ago, Although this was fine at first this is now crashing every-time i try and use the quick link tabs. Occasionally this fails to restart altogether and displays; cannot re-start HTC Sense, click here to continue. The only way to re-start Sense at this point is a soft reset. The handset is suffering from regular freezing issues and black screen problems.
I was using the Axlor 6.1 ROM with the radio Radio 2.07.50.27_2. I tried a hard re-set but the problem persisted. I've flashing the Artemis 4.0 ROM and flashing to a different radio 2.08.50.08 however the problem persists with the new ROMS and radio I've tried. I've flashed back to Axlor at the moment. I've done some searches without any definitive answer. Anyone any ideas why this might be happening?
If you have flashed several different roms and are getting instability go have a read of the mtty thread
Will have a look at the MTTY, thanks for the advice.
Edit, handset has completely packed in, it boots to the home screen and then freezes. A bit worrying.

[Q] HD2 Freezing, Rebooting constantly.... HELP

Hey fellas, I have been a long follower of the Android Developer threads and lately I have been experiancing a lot of problems.
The problems go as follows.
1. Sometimes upon starting windows, the device will freeze and reboot itself and then get stuck on the splash screen with the numbers at the bottom. ... (Battery Pull)
2. Sometimes when running say a certain app or answering a phone call the device would freeze then make a buzzing sound for 5-10sec and then reboot and again get stuck similar to #1.
3. Sometimes upon running android which runs fine the phone would freeze and reboot again.
Now At frist I had the OEM rom, then mooved to the Chunky Tab rom, then to MIRIs rom... after that I experianced the shut down issues, then did the Task 29... didnt seem to fix anything... then OEM ROM and back to MIRIs ROM an again nothing.
Now I did a lot of reading on the issues and the only thing that people report is a bad CPU>.. my battery life is also terrible...
NEED HELP or ADVICE on the situation... should I get rid of the HSPL and send it in to Tmobile?
I would try this first.....remove every single cab, app or mod you you've done to the phone, hard reset, remove/delete your data file/folder and ultimately...remove Hspl go back to stock and try
Keep us posted pls
If M_T_M's steps don't work you could try flashing a ROM like UnOff and maybe switch radios (after deleting the App Data folder) and just see how it works before having to go back to stock..

[Q] ROMs work great, except...?

Hey all, been poking around the forums and trying out various WM and Android ROMS and they all seem to work beautifully, kudos to the devs.
I seem to be running into a bit of a problem though.
My phone is an MP6900 (Vogue 100) from Bell. And while the roms work great, the second my phone goes into standby mode (when not attached to my comp) the phone resets.
I have tried four different roms, two android and two WM and the problem persists.
Also hard resets, battery removal etc etc to no avail.
I also tried to roll back the radio as that got updated when I went to my stock rom previously.
And to boot I can't seem to flash back to the stock ROM anymore, while I was able to even just yesterday. I get Error 262, for whatever reason.
I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and could point me in the right direction.
And I did a search on the forum (pre-registration) but couldn't find anything, sorry if this has been brought up before.
Again, great work on all of the ROMs! I had no idea phones had come this far. (Sad to say but true lol)

Sounds like a dying battery to me.
It worked fine in the original Windows though so that's why I am a bit baffled.
what happens if you put your device in bootloader and try to flash to stock? Error 262 is a connection error. basically happens whenever some event interrupts the flashing process (a dead battery will cause this). If you haven't yet, try to flash to stock via the method in this post (bootloader and then flash)
Tried that, didn't work. Just gets to 31% and pops 262 no matter how I try to do it.
The odd thing is though that I can flash any other ROM just fine.
Would reformatting the SD card work?
Figured it out. I used the 0.41 ROM to unlock the phone which was causing the issues. I reflashed with the 2.3.1 and everything works fine.

0.41 was reportedly having tons of issues, you should have started from there
Glad you got it working.

[Q] hd2 hangs when gets warm - might it be caused by rom update and how to fix it?

Hello All,
I have an HTC HD2 (TMOUS) that hangs once it gets warm. I got it a couple of days ago. The first thing I tried to do was to update the rom (there was an old stock rom) to the latest version from t-mobile. But when I tried to do that the update process failed at 8% with "error[262] update error". I tried to flash it again, but got the same result.
I tried both the approaches: to flash via usb and via SD card, but the results were the same. Flashing via SD card gave me "RSA fail" error. I have found some related info, but that is not the case since I could flash the radio later. Also I've noticed that after a couple of iterations the phone were vibrating 7 times during the rom update process. Some guys are telling that it could be a motherboard issue (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797179 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826119).
Today I tried to update rom again and got it successfull. But the phone has hanged on botting. Taking into account that the phone has been turned off for the whole night I decided to try to put it into a cool place. I put it to the balcony for 5 minutes and the turned it on again. It has loaded successfully and I was able to test wifi and to make a couple of calls. But after some time when it has got warm it hanged.
I have found that some guys had the same problem but couldn't fix it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701349).
It seems to me now that this is a hardware issue (maybe with the internal flash memory module).
Was anybody able to fix the isssue?
Could this problem be caused by my attempts to flash?
Thanks in advance.
Guys,
I'm kindly asking to share your thoughs on any of the questions. It is very important for me since I don't know whether it is my fault or the phone was already damaged.
The rom I tried to flash was a stock rom and the flashing process hasn't been interrupted.
Thank you!
had this issue and indeed it was the motherboard so i had to send it back to htc.
good luck.

Before you go trying to replace the mother board or any hardware such as that. I suggest you run a task 29 on your HD2 and reflash the stock ROM. A task 29 totally wipes the current ROM on the HD2 so if it is a problem from you trying so many timez to flash the ROM this will clear that up. Here is a link to the task 29 thread so you can learn more and decide if you want to do it or not.
Thank you for your replies!

Yes, that's a useful tool, but I'm afraid that I might damage the existing rom and will not be able to flash it agian. Also it requires to flash HSPL before which also potentially might brick the device ( I mean the flashing process).

So it was a factory defect, wasn't it?
If I did something wrong during the stock rom flashing process, could be the reason of the problem?
Thank you.
After reading forums it seems to me that the issue appears mostly for T-Mobile US version..
If it is a hardware problem, does anybody know what part of hardware is damaged?
Thanks!
