Hi there,
I'm trying to get HTC Peep to rotate so I can type in a similar fashion to text messages. I tried adding it to BSB Tweaks rotation thing but it added the start menu, not Peep. And I can't work out how to get Gyrator 2 to do what I want...
Any help?
I'm afraid Peep is one of the things that won't currently rotate. Using PLToggle (in my sig) forces rotation when you do a long-hold on the call button and you can instantly see which apps work and which don't.
You'll probably have to wait for a newer version of manila before you can do this mate.
Ive been trying to do the same thing - and yes, BSB keeps thinking I want the start menu rotated (which is cool too, but not correct).
Gave up for now!

If you guys didn't see this http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=2225 the gsensor has now been enabled in a lot of applications without the third party apps (this is HTC's gsen from the TP2 with a mod to the registry). You need to install the attached apps (which come from JMZTaylor of PPCGeeks): http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=58596
You'll get gsen love in email, contacts, IE, calendar, etc and all you do is change the registry values in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList to add or remove apps from the gsen list.
Herg is adding a few apps to this list so this will likely be updated shortly.

I installed it. Work great ! Except when HTCvolume changed and multiples apps open like others (changescreen, gsen, ...)
Hi, what does it do exactly. does it scroll or just rotate the page?

just causes the screen to rotate
This is cool, thanks.
BUT could you tell me what "Jmz gsensor setup.cab (4.8 KB)" does?
I installed herg62123's cab and it rotates all the simple apps I need, and leaves TF3D alone. Then I installed Jmz gsensor setup.cab and the only change was that TF3D tries to rotate, which I don't want.
seems to have a problem with the HTC Calculator ... it will rotate and go back to the TF3D screen ....
If you install Herg's app that is all you need as it incorporates the cab in the first posting with a few additional applications that herg added (so it rotates in more apps). I have it working on the calculator and it works as expected- it causes rotation. For me it does not force me back to TF3D
I find that S2P will not rotate with this installed.
Anyone has the same issue with me?
This is fantastic, thanks!
I was using Gsen but the tiny white pixel in the top middle really annoyed me. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was there when Gsen was active.
This also does not seem to rotate Manilla when the device is locked, as Gsen occasionally did.
Also much quicker to rotate.
I have tried Gyrator2, Gsen and this one, and this is easily the best one to use on the THD.
I can rotate almost everything with the new sdk; however i have problems with spb wallet: it rotates only if i keep it opened for half an hour in background (seems the sdk takes the whole life to recognize this module is running).
Btw:
- class for .net apps is #NETCF_AGL_BASE_
- wildcard (*) is allowed as window class name
apparently, for me, it doesn't work at all .....
i tried turning on the camera, once i turn it sideways, it will minimise the camera and go back to TF3D.... ditto for calculator, and any screen that it rotates .... it will minimise the current screen and push me back to TF3D home page ...
anybody else having this problem?
hello i need some help i install the Jmz Diamond2 G-Sensor.cab and Jmz gsensor setup.cab. nothing happen when try to sent sms it still didn't rotate actually nothing rotate. i reread the form i think im missing this part "HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList". I new at this so i don't know what it mean or how to do it. If that not the problem then anyone know why it didn't rotate after the 2 cab file i install. Thx for Help
Hi, I am the new owner of a touch hd and wanted to know what my best option was for landscape texting and if their was any auto-rotate landscape texting available? even if their is no auto-rotate, can anyone direct me to my best option for landscape texting? thanks
Derrick
Hi !! 24 hours HD owner and I adore it. Actually I found a cool application called Gyrator2 , it switches to landscape and rotate screen depending on how you hold the device ( like iphone ). Check it : http://gyrator.brins0.net/?page=downloads
you can try the new GSen from the Touch Pro 2: http://www.fuzemobility.com/gsen-now-enabled-in-more-apps/
you can add individual applications to the list as well but it works on most applications without any need to add more: http://www.mobilitydigest.com/gain-more-control-of-the-gsen-apps-tp2-edition/
I've used this on a Touch HD and it works
I have tried gsen.
At the moment im am using Dutty's 2.1 Extreme ROM and far as i know manilla should work in lanscape too.
Rotating Manilla seems to be disabled in gsen and i read that i need to add some registry keys in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\.
I dont really understand how that keys need to look like to make it work. Does anyone else had success?
Edit:
Just found out how it works.
You could also try ChangeScreen...
You could also try ChangeScreen which is my personal favourite as I find it easier to configure than Gyrator:

I know this has came up before but i am not sure if this is solved.
I download the gyrator and everything is fine. However whenever I lock the phone I can rotate the TF3D screen. Once it is in landscape mode, half of the screen is mess up. Is there any instruction to disable rotation when the phone is locked?
thanks for advice in advance.
Same here , I couldnt find out HOW
I'm not sure even where to begin (please use search as this has been solved like 5 times over; not that it was really a problem to begin with, just an issue). But to save you time this once (SEARCH) here's a couple options.
If you want to keep using Gyrator: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448141 (that itself has two different solutions, one applied to probably what you have done and have auto-rotate everything and then exclude certain things and the other is rotate only things which you want rotated (probably better, definitally safer and less buggy)).
Furthermore you can change from Gyrator to Gsen or ChangeScreen(probably better as it's dumbed down and made really simple but still very effective) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488&highlight=rotate
Lastly (not really, I just don't feel like typing more) you can change your ROM to Dutty's as it runs on the new manila v3 which allows for landscape rotation (Dutty's is not the only ROM that has it, so once again, you have choices here as well).

Hope it helps
thanks for the info

You need to set Gyrator so it doesn't rotate in the lock screen, manilla should already be disabled but when the phone is locked manilla is not the foremost app anymore. To do this add a new event above Rotate, Edit the event and call it something like Disable (Lock), set the Application to Dialog, set orentation to portrait, set Actions to Rotate screen. Click apply then Click and hold the new event and set it as Orientation and click apply again. This will also stop your email from auto rotating in message view, but if you go to landscape in the list view you can still work in landscape for email and SMS.

I already did so, thank you. But I really wanted to get manilla working in landscape mode with the standard ROM. I saw it working fine with other cooked ROMs but not with mine. The only way to solve this is to flash with a newer ROM ? Or there is a cab to solve this issue ?
New rom
Hi there, I believe your problem stems from the fact that your version of manila does not support landscape viewing. Having tried a few things with varying success, I flashed to Duttys 2.1 rom and am glad to have done so. It's a far superior experience with hugely improved notifications, faster response times, more storage space free on the HD itself and it also rotates manila without glitching the backgrounds.
I recommend you try it
Actually the dealer told me that I would lose the warranty if I flash the device with non official ROM. Also my ROM is not found on the internet ( 1.14.488.3 WWE )
no current stock rom runs on manila v3 and therefore no stock rom supports landscape. In order to avoid voiding warranty, you can flash the rom using USPL (keeps original SPL) and then before sanding your phone in for w/e reason you simply flash back to original rom (by either backing yours up or chances are it's already posted in the wiki ROM section as they have most of them). If you were to send in the phone with a none stock rom, they may or may not refuse to fix it because technically you have voided the warranty (but if you flash it back to original rom using USPL, then they have no idea)
I have searched heaven and hell to find a way to get the D2 running in landscape view, that is for it to switch to landscape view when you rotate the screen. So far I have found apps that allows everything but manilla and its tabs (including home page) run in landscape.
Is there a way to do this?

You can make use of the Topaz drivers itself to do auto-rotation. You do not need to install additional application running in background.
There're some registry editings to be done. Nevertheless, you can use this application to help you enter those into the whitelist. You need to soft-reset after inputting all the applications you'd like to auto rotate.

I tried that, along with changescreen. I still can't bet the tabs screens to rotate. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Landscape manila for d2 is more annoying then useful, if you tilt the phone past the tilt point either way (portrait or landscape) it will rotate and take at least half a second to change screen, and it enerally takes more to come back to portrait. This makes it difficult to immediately read stuff or accept calls as the screens changing layout and the buttons end up in different places.
Landscape would only be useful on phones like the pro2 and it's previous variants when you need landscape while the keyboards out. Other than that just make your mail programs etc landscape capable.
There are other threads with reg keys and apps to use, just follow those and see if they give you success.
Cheers,
Scott
Graphics from the manila tabs aka TD2 homescreen are not designed for lanfscape view, therefor its like Scott (post #4) sayd, more annoying than usefull.
Thanks a lot guys. I think I see your point. Funny thing is that it was my recently installed S2U app that drove it home. It was annoying as hell when it kept switching to views.
Isn't the HD2 screen supposed to change to landscape, when you turn it sideways?
I have not been able to get it to do that once. It always remains portrait.
I have tried turning it in both directions. I also did the "calibrate G-Sensor" thing in Settings, and it appeared to calibrate correctly.
Newest stock T-Mo rom, phone just received yesterday.
Suggestions?
Search would have been your friend on this question.
Tmous HD2 doesn't go to landscape on the home screen as shipped. The picture and music tabs should. There is a cab to enable it for all tabs (including home) or you can use BSB tweaks. I prefer BSB tweaks.

Just tried it with music. Didn't work.
First, turn off the landscape option in BsB, then try the cab I have attached here
Thanks Sir Phunkee.
Just today, I finally got the landscape option to work in the Music and Recent Documents tab. And using BSB, I was able to add the option to a couple apps.
How does your cab work? Does it automatically add the landscape option to all apps?

It's more to add rotation to all the sense tabs...but I think it does add it to a few apps too (file explorer, for example)...but I can't remember for sure.
