Spotify Query - Nexus One General

I know that on the N1 Apps can only be run from the 512mb inbuilt memory, does Spotify allow you to store offline playlists on your memory card?

Yes it does. Spotify stores all its music on the SD card in an encrypted form.

What is format of SD Card? What is format of songs. I have a large amount of music on removable SD card and music app sees it all. Try exploring music and select a song on removable card to play. should open player, which might help.
I also have this issue and more..

I have the keyboard and the sd card is using the standard 32bit format. music is in the media folder copied from my hts desire, same as pictures and movies.
All of which work on the desire but are not visable through any of the default installed apps, I have also installed various free apps which again do not show the files.
I can play them seperatly via file explorer and they play properly but do not stay in the history.
Contacted Asus who suggested that I clear the apps cache via settinges/ applications etc.
Tried that several times including reboot before opening apps and no joy.
Also having the issues with google maps downloaded and cached maps. only work on internal memory.
Not rooted yet but depending on these issues will either root or return.
The media services will only recognize internal memory and /mnt/sdcard.
You have to move any music/videos/pictures manually into internal memory or sd card.
The Music app and gallery find the stuff on my Micro SD without a problem.

Offline Music to SD Card?

I believe I did this, with the Moment or whatever phone I had before the S3.
I now have an S4 (ATT).
I don't want to stream all the time and keep my music on the phone for when at the gym.
There used to be a guide on how to make the offline music in Google Play download to the SD Card and not internal, but I can't find it now for some reason.
Anyone know how to force the Google Music App to put offline music to the SD Card?

Format SD card as Internal but trying to get Google Play Music to save music to SD!

So when I bought a 128 gb sd card. And I format it as internal I can move the apps to SD. But when using Google Play Music saving offline saves to my actual internal not internal SD how do I fix it?
Moto X Pure edition
Android 6.0
I did the same at first, then reformatted sd as external storage and just used play music's native storage selection. I'm a heavy user and the 32gb internal storage is fine if I'm not storing my media there.
Google play music storage selection....

SD card question.

I've just added a 128gb SD card.
Does anyone know if apps like Spotify or play music automatically use the SD card when downloading music?

It depends on if you formatted as external storage (the default) or internal.
If it's external most apps won't do it automatically. Google Play apps (Music, Movies, Newstand), YouTube, most camera apps, podcast apps, etc., have an easy setting in them to specify using the external sdcard.

I can't see any setting in play music that allows me to use my 128gb card.
It's claiming I only have 2gb free?
Spotify I know for sure sets it automatically after a new install. As for Play Music, you have to set it manually. If you didn't format your card as internal, you should see the option to change storage.

Play music from SD

I've read a few threads here, but cannot find an answer.
Is there any way for Google Play on my S8 to play my music off my sd card? I have about 80gb stored on my sd card, and don't want to load it into the phone.
If not, is there any music player app that does? I've been reading so many blogs/threads with no joy! Thanks
Using Samsung Music for playing from SD card without issues.
as above or my personal favourite player is "PlayerPro" just make playlists from your SD card contents
Play music plays off the SD card on my device. I have it set to downloaded only.
