Wifi Drive - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Anybody can help me find Application with which I can use my TP2 with 8gb Card as Wifi Flash Drive like some iphone guys do

I'm using an app called "Wifi Remote Access."
You can read about it and/or download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=586654
I mostly use this app to transfer new .cab's to my phone without having to pull the storage card or connect the USB cable, but it should work for your purposes as well.

XDA mini s as a USB Pen Drive?

Hello.
Just got my XDA Mini S today and am in the process of upgrading the ROM and doing some other custimizations to it before I start using it. One thing that I do not yet have is a miniSD card. I am leaning towards getting a 2GB card, but as I recently got an iPod Nano I know that I will not be using the XDA as my main music source. I do however make frequent use of USB PenDrives and would get the 2GB card if the XDA can be used as one. So my question is as follows: if I plug in the XDA into any computer will it show up as an portable drive or does it require the instilation of the software everytime? I only have one computer (and no miniSD card ) so I have no means of testing this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help!

USB Pen Drive
Hi - if I understand you correctly - you are correct in assuming you would need to install ActivSync on all machines you require the device to connect too and establish a paternership with each PC. Not ideal.
However if you were able to do this this device shows as a "mobile device" under "My Computer" and you can use explorer to do all the normal file transfer options - cut, copy paste etc.
You could look at utilising the Bluetooth or Infrared ports to transfer files to the SD card - however the receiving PC would need to be capable of accepting files in this way - indeed a bluetooth partnership would need to be established with each PC also - so maybe no improvement over ActivSync.
I hope this helps - indeed someone out there may now of an easy after market program that could do it.
Hi,
I use softick's CardExport II (version 2.11) to switch between ActiveSync mode and USB PenDrive mode.
Version 2.12 is available, but that doesn't work for me; it doesn't recognise the PenDrive with it. Version 2.11 however is working like a charme for me.

Transfer files from Mac OS X to HTC Elf/Touch/P3450 using USB (and not BT)

Hi Guys, Is anyone aware of a free program to transfer large files (say MP3 files) from my Macbook to WM6 phone (HTC Touch/Elf/P3450).
I have been successfully using SyncMate to connect to my HTC Touch and hence the USB connection works fine, so I believe that there should be a simple way to transfer files quickly to the storage card on my HTC. (I dont want to use Bluetooth as I need to transfer lots n lots of songs to my device..)
Thanks in advance for your expert views!
Cheers
SD Card reader is my suggestion.
So without buying a SD Card Reader Hardware, there is no other solution? Coz Macbook doesnt come with a (Micro) SD Card Reader..I was thinking that since SyncMate was able to connect to HTC via USB, there might be some other software or just some settings in Mac (or *nix) that need to be changed..
Just had a brain wave Since I already have boot camp installed on my Macbook, I just copied all the songs that I wanted to transfer onto my Windows Desktop from within Macbook. Next, just restarted my Mac in Windows and using ActiveSync and USB Cable, transferred the songs onto the storage device on my HTC!
I'm using Missing Sync on my Mac (around 35$). You can mount the SD card of the mobile phone on the desktop as a USB drive.
Hey, since we are on this topic.
I was thinking about getting a Macbook Pro, but don't want to give up my Touch Elfin P3452.
Will Mac OS X communicate with WM6 or ?
Yes it wud work , BUT u need to have EITHER Boot Camp installed on your Macbook (Boot Camp - used for booting into Windows) OR as suggested above, use Missing Sync..(I was unable to get Missing Sync trial edition working on my Macbook though..)
Alternatively other complicated approach could be to use some OS level commands..I had seen a blog somewhere which mentioned about using Unix Level commands to achieve the same..
Actually if you don't need to transfer big files (>5MB or so is quite tough), sync, or use huge speed you can use Bluetooth to transfer files and tether. As said before SyncMate for Mac is a nice free solution for syncing certain things. Missing Sync and PocketMac are full-fledged syncers you need to pay for.
Alternatively you can use Windows in BootCamp, VMWare or Parallels, but I really hate doing that because it's a bulky thing.

Transferring Music Wirelessly?

Is there any program to send music to my HD2 wirelessly? Or can it only be done via usb cable? Didn't find any answers searching.
you can use "WIFI Remote Access 1.0" to transfer files from your pc to your phone if you're connected to the same wifi network. very easy to use...

EDIT: New Version is 1.7 which is the one in the link above... happy transfering

USB or Bluetooth connection to computer

I read on one of the many A7 posts that there is a USB "A" cable that allows connection to the USB port of a computer, and enables file transfers. Is this correct?
Also, I was able to pair up with my laptop via Bluetooth. Is there an app required (on either or both devices) to then enable this connection to see the A7's sdcard and transfer data back and forth?
Either solution would make the A7 a much more acceptable tablet to me. The "adb over wifi" is not nearly as flexible, and the eLocity solution to (1) remove the sdcard, (2) plug it into your laptop, (3) transfer files, (4) remove from your laptop, and (5) plug it back into the A7, is almost laughable...
UPDATE: I tried QuickSSHD, but I found the instructions confusing and/or incomplete. My A7 was able to "pair but not connect", and coudn't find a solution to this.

Now that I have an A7, this is the coolest app I've found for Android.
At Fry's, I couldn't even find USB 'A' male to 'A' male cables that weren't 3.0 (which apparently aren't backwards compatible). This is sweet.
I also have the viewsonic gtablet and have been using this app for sometime now. It is the way to go, no cables.
dropbox
hi I havent got my a7 yet its on its way but I use a free app called dropbox to share stuff with my phone, netbook ,ipod touch and my son in tn it works great.
I use the free dropbox app. I also use it with Titanium Backup. Works well.
another method is using swiftp to make your a7 into a ftp server. Then you can transfer files using an ftp client on a pc or on another android device.

dropbox is a great service but websharing is a different beast entirely. both have their place and both are awesome.

Websharing didn't work well for me. Some files it would refuse to upload to the tablet for no reason. I did upload three photos, seemingly successful, but on the tablet all three showed with 0 size, and won't display.

[Q] how do I use phone files on tab?

I asked this once and got an answer that I should "duh" remove the micro sd from the phone and insert it in the tab. If I don't like that i must be stupid or lazy.
I use a lot of spreadsheets in my work. I have been using them on my relatively small 3.7" phone until I got this tablet. Since there is a USB port on the a500, I figured that i could use the cable and use the file on the phone through the USB cable. But the tab doesn't see the sd card when used as a disk drive. The my touch slide 4g has a 32gig card in it.
The tab can see large USB drives except not the phone.
They are both WiFi enabled and have Bluetooth ability. Bluetooth is slow and not so easy as a USB connection. I have not been able to establish a WiFi FTP relationship. I could open the files on either device with a cloud storage, but this is complicated and can be slow and insecure when I am out and about using public WiFi. It can gobble up data if I use my data connection and tethering for both the tab and the phone to keep going back and forth to the cloud for read only and minor changes.
All I want to do is to be able to use my phone as a disk drive as I can do on a computer, or as i can do with an external drive or memory card.
When i have access to a desktop or laptop, I simply plug in the phone and open the file on the phone and then save it right back there when I'm done.
This seems so simple a task. Why is it not right up there with easy things to do? After all, isn't this one of the reasons there is a standard USB port built in when no one else has one?
Sorry to ramble on, but this is one thing I would really like to do.

You CAN use your phones disk drive mode, you just need to mount the drive on your tablet. Use DriveMount from the Market, should do what you need.
