Screen off - Nexus One General

I would like to disable timeout to disable screen, as you can in Windows Mobile, is it possible?
The setting offers different delay but not "none".
thanks

[REQ]Auto device lock/unlock based on power button

Hey!
Is somewhere out there an application or some sort of WM modification that would make the default WM device lock power-button-sensitive? The current one (if you enable it in Advanced Config) turn itself automatically on when you put the device into standby (by power button, for example) but when you press the button again, you have to unlock the device. That wouldn't be a problem if the TouchFLO 3D clock updated, but when the device is locked, the TouchFLO 3D clock doesn't update itself.
So I would like to have a keylock that would automatically lock the device if the power button is pressed (or the device is in standby) and automatically unlock when the power button is pressed again (or there's incomming call). But the important thing is that it would keep the device locked when some appointment showed up or something like that.
I've been searching the net and all possible forums and sites but ran out empty - no such application od modification found. Can anyone help? Maybe the csdevctrl (v.4.01) may help but I don't know how to set it properly.

StylusLock is locking the device and keeps running programs updating the screen (so is not interfering with them). But probably this is not what you requested, because it is not controlled via the power button, but the stylus.
Thanks for reply, but that's not what I'm looking for.

How do you do this in Advanced Config? I can't see it anywhere!!!
mayb he meant diamond tweak. there is a option called autolock. when ur backlight goes off or u turn off the screen it will lock the device.
Advanced Config 3.3: Screen -> Auto device lock & timeout.
I dont have that option on my HD with advance config
my solution
I had same problem and auto device lock did not solve it. because I don't want the device is auto locked when the screen is on. It should only be locked when the screen is off and device is waken up by power button or any call/sms/alarm event.
- Battery Status plugin was able to do this great but it does not work stable with TouchFlo 3D.
- To lock the device automatically on wakeup ThrottleLock is a great application but while it locks the screen clock and today screen is not updated.
- I also tried VJDeviceLock but it did not work automatically on wakeup. But when you execute VJDeviceLock.exe it locks the screen manually using the device lock of Windows Mobile.
To solve these first I installed VJDeviceLock and then ThrottleLock. Then I copied VJDeviceLock.exe into ThrottleLock folder in the name of ThrottleLock.exe. Now every time I wake up the device screen is locked by Windows Mobile's devicelock instead of ThrottleLock's pattern based custom lock screen.

Can Autolock be disabled?

I want to use an application to control it, can it be disabled?
Im not aware of an application designed to do what you are asking. However, you can use power manager to change the profile to keep the phone awake all the time. It would still lock when in standby, AFAIK.
Kieth
Settings->sound & display->screen timeout->never
Turning off the screen timeout off wont disable autolock. And yes, there are "slider" programs that immitate the iphone unlocked, which gets annoying to use when i have to hit menu to get out of autolock, and do the slider.
Go to anycut create an activity for setup wizard when it says touch screen, touch and quickly remove the battery, when you restart it will be disabled but you also loose the home key function, along with the green function, but it works if you can live without those.
that worked great but i dont think i can live with out the home and call buttons, how do i get them back?
Just run the wizard again and follow it through till the end and reset your phone.

Missing button lock/not lock option

My TD2 doesn't have the option in settings menu to set the the device to do not lock buttons. Is it just mine or have HTC ommitted this setting
No you are right - I was annoyed when I couldn't find this option and checked the Control panel on my old Diamond. Ideally I'd like to be able to configure the same options as previous (so if anything need someone to port this control panel applet and function to the Diamond2).
I’m tired to press power button every time I want to make a call. I would prefer to wake it up by pressing a button as on older devices. so I miss this option to.
also interested in finding a solution ... maybe a .cab ...
Nothing yet? I need it for my HD2
try-it Smart lock
Have you tried the TD2 tools.
Wake up on ANY key.

Newbie question

Hi, is there a way or an app I can use to trigger the device lock manually? I don't mean the simple lock where the screen is disabled. I want the windows lock screen with the password. I set the device to lock after 1 hour of inactivity but I want a way to manually trigger it anytime.
You can use the lockscreen app here and set to lock on Suspend. Then pushing the power button will lock.
Alternatively, you can set the Call End key to activate the lock, so a long press on End will also lock the device. Go to Settings\Personal\Buttons and go the End Key tab and choose appropriate setting.
Thanks for the reply. I tried the End Key but it only works if you disable the auto-lock when inactive setting. And when it works, it only does a screen lock without the PIN entry. I would like to lock the screen with the pin entry

Vibration when screen tapping ?

Hello. I just tried a nokia 5800 and I LOVE the feeling you get when scrolling or writing or just navigating menus and pushing on-screen buttons. It's just like a real button.
Is there anything similar for the touch hd? Some application adding a little vibration when touching virtual buttons ?
I can remember I had something like this (but not as hard as the 5800 one...much longer and softer, not a CLICK) when writing with the on screen keyboard....I can not find that option anymore in the menu, where is it?
Oh, and just to repeat it, I would like to have also in the menu navigation some vibration (ideal is the closest to the 5800 one, which i like very much, you really get the feeling of a button).
Hi there,
yes, the Touch HD supports Haptic Feedback, you can enable this through Touch Options (Go to Start > Settings > System > Touch Options). this will set your device to vibrate when tapping tabs, links, or other on screen items supported for applications.
You can also set Haptic feedback for buttons via Start > Settings > Personal > Buttons. Select the Virtual Buttons tab at the top and then select the Vibrate the device checkbox.
Hope this helps.
My hardware buttons (green phone, home, arrow back, red phone) do vibrate when i touch them. That's ok.
I was looking for a vibration when I use the keyboard when writing, but also whenever i navigate menus.
I checked the option you wrote about....it is ticked, but nothing works.
Is there a problem with the SPB shell I am using? Does it work only with default?
Anyway also in normal start menu from windows mobile the phone doesn't vibrate....so I don't think is a problem of SPB shell at all.
I add:
opera for instance DOES vibrate when i open links....that's an example.
But i cannot get the phone to vibrate when I use the virtual keyboard, nor when I am navigating through windows mobile menus, or the Today screen or anything else.
ok i found a little application called TouchResponse....in the description there was written i could choose how many ms the vibration should last...but i cannot find anything to do that.
The result is what i wanted, though...now whenever i touch the screen, i get a little vibration feedback. Is not as wonderful as the one on the nokia 5800 though.
