i got my jade in Singapore but i live in Europe my rom version is 1.40.723.2 dated 27.10.08.
1. I would like to know is to upgrade EU rom or ASIA rom .
2. If it is wise to upgrade the rom and if its relay essential to do it.
can the phone lock for some reason if i upgrade the rom.

Same thing as me, the phone is from Singapore starhub, I flash it to the lastest Asia rom on the day I got it.
1) Of course you can flash it to EU rom if you prefer, it doesn't really matter.
2) New rom always came out with some bug fixed but sometimes it can be worst than the old rom so try yourself and choose which one you prefer.
3) No, the phone won't get lock just flashing the rom.

Hi , I need help to understand why I cant upgrade my diamond 2 to WM 6.5
Here is my current version ( I got my phone in Hong Kong )

I tried to download a rom update from here :

but I got a message that there is no upgrade available for my serial number.
Than I took a number (ht968l100038) from stock , from here :

I downloaded an update , it started to run but then I got a message :
Error 294 - invalid vendor ID
So my question is :
1. Why there is no update available from official HTC site ?
2. How in any case I can upgrade it ? what's wrong with my vendor ID ?

If you read previous posts about that message, someone said it was because the 6.5 upgrade is not for your region. Hong kong in europe?
You have to wait for the upgrade to be available for hong kong/asia.
Hong Kong belongs to asia.actually I live in another country,but got my phone in h.kong.
but version of my rom is an english one,is there some workaround to install it anyway?

htc has now actually realesed the official update
when i tried to upgrade mine from the htcpedia one it bricked my phone, i mananaged to recover it and install stock 6.1 onto it so hopefully now that im going from a stock 6.1 rom rather than a custom 6.5 it should work lol

I have the same problem as you, and as I can see you have same original ROM, I tried also from another region with same problem ERROR [294].
You may also have S/N HT98LL as I, now I know it's from hongkong (I'm and bought my phone in Paraguay )
Is there anyway to install european ROM? breake the zone from my phone to install official ROM from somewhere else?

Hi,
This has managed to brick mine as well - how did you recover?
It only goes to the touch diamon 2 loading screen and then freezes.

Mine S/N is "ht97xl......." .
Some one have an idea what to do ?
When HTC will release an update for this vendor ?
Figured it out:
They have only released European versions of the upgrade which does not work with those of us that have asian ones. The HTC huys don't have a release date for the Asian English Winmo 6.5 ROM release.
Not impressed really.

Hello, i tryed to update my TD2 from wm 6.1 to 6.5 from official htc site -- http://www.htc.com/de/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=728&news_id=310 -- , but when i put my serial number of my phone, it says that for my region is not available wm 6.5 update , i bought my phone from O2 Germany ..
what's the problem ?

so lets wait .... I don't want to break my phone with unofficial ROMs and loose my warranty. Cant they that their ROM will be perfect,but anyway ...

Branded TD2's got other serials, so you can only dl ROMs released by your vendor. Also you won't be able to flash the ROM if phone is not unlocked (you need hardspl 1.83).

I've bought my phone unbranded and unlocked, it is not a phone from my provider. The serial i've put in to the field for download ist valid, otherwise i wouldn't get so far to the select the rom file and the the region.
I wrote to the HTC support and they answered: "Wir moechten Sie bitten, den Download zu einem spaeteren Zeitpunkt noch einmal zu versuchen. "
But maybe its better to leave a running system at it is. I've read the thread "Issues with the official 6.5 build" and it does not fills me with confidence in 6.5. Maybe i should try a cooked rom. Will see.
The official HTC Rom is ok, but I really can recommend udK's Leo R6 (German version) or Dutty's Holy Grail R1 (a bit faster but WWE). Both are better than stock ROM.
Today I have flashed my TD2 with your recommended udK Leo R6 and I'm surprised, I have much more space left after the installation. Original, as I bought my device, there were only 180 mb free data space, with this cooked rom I have far over 200 mb left after flashing. Until now, after some hours of playing around i like it, it feels faster. And I'm very happy, that my first attempt of hardspl and rom flashing was successful.

Have you tried contacting their support.
My ROM is "Eastern Europe" (Bought in UK!) and they told me to go to

Sure enough, a valid ROM was available for download Apparently they won't to hosting all the ROM's to the HTC site!

Probably because you don't have a stock HTC phone, but an operator customized one. You'll have to install HardSPL before you can flash any ROM on your HD2 (HTC official, or cooked)
Hi just got the Htc Leo week ago. First i want to upgrade my rom to the oficial one. Im running 1.43 wwe and i want load 1.66 wwe but there's two yhings witch stoping me:
1. On htc website i try tu download the 1.66 rom but when i put my serial number it said that: Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
2. On sunnysoft page i dowload 1.66 rom but they write that:
LIMITATION
PN: 99HJZ022-00
(compare with the number on the label
under battery of your device)
and my number dont match 99HJY070-0
Is that mean that i cant upgrade my rom?
If i upgrade will i brick my leo
I'm not sure is that becouse my htc is branded to o2

I belive o2 branded HD2 do not have an official update as of yet. You can how ever HSPL the device and flash the rom. It will not have any ill effect if you follow the instructions.

My one is NOT branded and I can't download 1.66 based on serial as well. But being on factory rom has also advantages -> I can (and will) go back to the shop, put it on the table and say "thank you, I've had enough".
Did you try to download the official 1.66 ROM from here and install it on the device?
