I was wondering can i use the wifi to connect to my mobile data connection?
I basically want to turn the phone into a router and connect from my laptop to the phone and use the mobile data connection to use the internet.

When I plug my phone to my laptop the WiFi turns off and I lost my conection to the internet. So how can I setup a Internet conection using my laptop like modem?
do you mean that you want to surf by the laptop modem right?

Are you trying to use the phone as a modem for your laptop, or trying to use your laptop internet connection as an internet portal for your phone?
use my laptop internet connection as an internet portal for my phone to update softwere and data.
I have a at&t 8525 Unlocked-SuperCID,
I already configured the GPRS-Internet-MMS,
I can connect to the internet via SMART (operator).
I can connect to free WiFi (hot zones), but i cannot browse the internet
is there a configuration before using WiFi for internet access.
please help...

I have just bought mobile internet but was wounding, when I’m at home does my mobile automatically use my wireless or should I manually turn off my mobile internet?

If you are connected to your Wi-Fi connection your data plan for your phone will not be used. And vice-versa, if you are not connected to Wi-Fi your data plan will be used.

My problem is that my Lenovo A3000-H does not allow devices to access 2g internet neither through WiFi hotspot or USB modem. 2g internet works on its own, I can connect to WiFi hotspot and ping the Tab, however there is no internet no matter witch device I am using. Interesting thing is that if I connect A3000-H to the internet via WiFi and then connect it to my laptop via USB and use it as modem, my laptop has internet, but as soon as I disconnect WiFi on the Pad, 2g kicks in, but internet connection on my laptop dies.
Any help will be much appreciated.
I'm using a little DLNA box (with no internet access) to connect to my audio system.
My rooted phone connects to the little DLNA box via WiFi. However in doing so, all internet access is routed to the WiFi connection and therefore I end up with no Internet access.
My phone does have a working 3G/4G/LTE connection through a SIM card, though. IKs it possible to stay connected to the WiFi purely for DLNA purposes and use internet through the mobile data connection?
