Hi
A friend of mine has given me an Orange SPV M600 as he's upgraded.
He's had the handset unlocked by Orange, so my O2 sim card works fine in it.
Just wondering how I can debrand the firmware and just have the unbranded factory firmware on it?
And could anyone help me to set it up for use with O2 pay and go GPRS and MMS settings?

Hiya,
Debrand meaning you do not want to see the Orange startup screen right? Then you will need to change your ROM to one of the stock ROMs. Please refer to upgrading ROMs section of forum for low down on that. Loads of better ROMs to try from too.

Hi guys i had a xda from day one and got on really well with it.
so when i found a great deal on a spv m1000 (xda2 but orange branded) i jumped at it) but i do have a new newbie questions.
1/ Where can i download a mms composer? (also is there one for xda1? as my wife has that phone now)
2/ Is there any rom kitchens for the xda2? or special edition roms.
3/ i am still with o2 should i flash the new o2 rom to my orange spv m1000?
p.s i have unlocked it if that makes any diffrence

1) MMS on the XDA 1 has to be done through EZwap - This may already be on the phone if you have upgraded the ROM from a kitchen.
2) There are still a few functioning ROM kitchens where you can cook just what you need into a ROM check here http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
3) I would stay away from the O2 ROM - you will only want to remove it when you realise it is a waste of space. I would move totally to Orange if I was you.

also i thought roms from that kitchen were for xda1 not xda2? do you flash in the same way?

The ROMS in that kitchen are definately for XDA, NOT the XDA II. I know of no kitchens or special ROMs for the 2 - some folks flash a ROM from another provider, but that's about as far as it goes.

OK . . . I'll jump in, even though I have not had the need to do such a thing.
I would say that you certainly could do it. The only problem might be a country ID error. If so, there are many threads in this forum to help you past that one.

i've got a HTC Magician, branded as as O2 XDA Mini and put on it the latest ROM, I got here.
I thougt it was unbranded, but unfortunately, it is a T-Mobile ROM. Now I have an O2 device with T-Mobile Software, which i use with an E-Plus sim.
Since there is no E-Plus ROM for the magician, can I put back the O2 software?
Unfortunately, i did not back up the original ROM before upgrading
Where could I get it? On the O2 sites I only find ROMs for the O2 Mini S Device.

Please help me.... I bought a mini s recently, which is loaded with the latest cingular English rom. I would like to change it to the O2 uk rom, I have tried various way such as downloaded the O2 uk roms in the FTP site and update it to the device. However, error messages poped up every time and ask me to get a newer version of update tool.
The reason for changing to O2 uk rom is that I want the bulid-in O2 softwares such as O2 active, O2 plus.
Please kindly advise me how to change the rom. Thanks in advance.
Use Lokiwiz to perform a CID (carrier identification) unlock. This should remove all your error problems when performing the rom update.

I got an old Orange SPV M1000. But it's locked on Orange NL SIM cards, while I have an Telfort NL SIM.
It's currently running the default WM 2003 OS.
I have two question:
Is there a way to unlock it? (i.e. by flashing)
I've seen that WM5 en WM6 can run on it. On this forums. Is there a speed difference between 4.2, 5 and 6? (128MB ram + 2GB SD)
If I download one of the roms on this forum, is there just something like a setup or is there a special way to flash it?

sim locks and roms are not really related read here how you sim unlock it
and should you wish to flash it with a new rom
putting on a new rom dont unlock it
and putting on a rom in general dont lock it
How do i upgrade my SPV M600 from ORANGE UK to a normal unbranded HTC VERSION or the latest windows?
I'm sorry but i'm a complete numpty when it comes to these things hence i ask. Its a SPV M600, currently unlocked and i'm using my O2 sim in it but however i am unable to access the internet or other network related features.
Any input appreciated lads
