text message location - HD2 General

Hi there.
Could someone tell me, where the text messages are located on the Leo?
I want to write an application where i can extract the messages and view it in plain text on my PC. I've googled a lot, found some programs that backup messages or sync it with outlook, but no one does that what i want. So i decided to write it by myself. I hope that someone can help me find the text messages on the Leo.

They're stored in a database mate.
I don't know what programming language you're using but this helped me...
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/mobile/PocketPCandSmartphone.aspx
Also, you'll usually get more luck asking things like this in the dev section...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=523
Hope this helps

Thanks for the fast answer, now i can give it a try.
Sorry, but i'm just not long enough in this forum to know all the sections.

You're welcome mate, and I wasn't moaning about you posting in the wrong section. I just think you'll get a better audience for that kind of question in a dev forum.
Good luck with your app

sms send notification

Hi,
I've tried to answer this question with the help of several sites, but nobody seems to be able to help me (or am I looking at the wrong place?)
When I send an SMS-message, I get a notification when the actual message has been sent. I would like to stop this service, but I can't find the option. I've checked the registry, but I'm not really good at that stuff...
Please help me out...
You are like a king..... try to use search & open your -OPTICAL- eyes

Some VB.Net Pointers

Hello to the developers,
I've just started to write some today screens for my own enjoyment but am stuck on how to launch lets say the phone application or perhaps the SMS folder, i have some notification graphics which say for example i have some unread SMS's i want to click on the SMS notification and load up SMS folder.
I hope i have made sence.
Look forward to a response.
David
Anyone?
I've tried google but i guess i'm not typing the right stuff in.
Ooce last chance anyone any pointers?
not sure if it's still the case but not long agoe
today items was one of the things you could not program
in .net you had to use pure win32 and or microMFC
not sure about the older and more evil vb flavours
if you do a search in the development and hacking forum
for something like
today item
you are sure to get tons of stuff about it
Thanx for your reply but its not a real today plugin but more of a complete shell i guess, the problem i have is i want to be able to open up default containers when i click on my buttons, i.e.
If i select my missed calls button i want to go to phone log missed calls.
If i select my unread SMS button then it opens up the SMS container
etc..
I cant find any documentation on how to open up the standard containers.
Please if someone knows then help a poor learning developer know the answer!!

there ought to be a "shell" command in. Net CF, to basically launch outside apps. You will find most of the apps like ie, SMS etc in windows folder or in program files folder
Thanx ill check out the Shell Thing

Ive tried using the Shell command but i keep getting errors
i want to open up default containers
Phon app, contacts, emails, sms etc...
Any help please please please
Examples if you have some
Kind regards
David

Messages protected by password

Hello everybody!
First of all congratulations for an excelent work! Keep it up!
I have a suggestion to make regarding an aplication for HTC Touch Diamond. It would be very useful for me (and for many others I'm sure) to protect my sent and received messages (sms, mms and email) by a password. I have a very curious wife-to-be and I really don't want her to find the messages I send and receive from other women ... hehehe It would be great if you could make an aplication like this .... I'll be more then willing to pay for it!
Can someone help me with an aplication for voice commands? I can't find one anywhere.
Thanks!
stop sending texts to people you shouldnt.

It does exist already. Try EZ secret sms.

thanks ... i'm gonna look for it!
I tried EZ secret sms but it's not that great! It's very hard to work with because you must specify the contacts you want the messages to be protected and the graphics are quite bad and slow. Besides, it only works for sms, without email and mms
I was thinking at something that just adds a password to messaging. It's much easier like this!
Anyone with a suggestion ???
This should work: [Link]
You could've searched you know
EDIT: Sorry. Since I'm retarded, I didn't see that is QVGA only right now. Keep an eye on this thread. The Dev will probably make it VGA soon.
Thanks ... I'll be monitoring this thread ... I hope someone will make it work eventualy
You can lock your phone, so no one could enter it.. throttlelock is an android like lock security program..

I think it's also possible to make it a startup program, so even after a reset, ur phone should be locked..

email/sms mark as read function

I'm wondering if anybody knows if there's any way to get a "mark all as read" option from the TF3D screen on my mail and sms tabs. I have downloaded the "safe inbox extender" cab, which is better than before, but it would really be ideal if you could add an option in the OUTER tf3d tab so one doesn't actually have to go into the accounts page at all.
install this cab
View attachment SafeInboxExtender.CAB
i know you were trying to help, but next time read the person's post please.

sorry I didn't read the rest of your post. but the answer to your post is NO
I'm wondering why this isn't available myself. The inbox extender is great, don't get me wrong but being able to mark all read from the TF3D would be amazing!
Bump!
Why isn't this available? Also, why can't you reply, reply to all, forward etc... from the email tab (like you can in SMS tab)?

Is there any way to make the email preview count as marking it 'read'?

The title pretty much explains it, is there a registry change that can allow mail flicked through in the preview in the HTC email app to be marked as read instead of clicking on to them to go to the full message?
Sorry if this has been answered but I couldn't find anything when searching, thanks for your help.
+1 please!
Having to open it up in WM is annoying and pointless, why can it not be like SMS's??
Anyone ever find an answer to this? Got a TMoUS version yesterday, and it's really my only gripe with the device.
+1 from me as well. That would be an excellent feature.
Yes please!
count me as another!
Would like to know this too its quiet annoying having to open the email.
and also... either make it look like sms, either make the fonts smaller (or the "page" wider)
There's a Cab on here which gives you option (within the email client) to "Mark all messages as read", which is handy.
And huzzah! I think this is it...
