Some advise needed from ROM builders - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development

I like to start building my own ROMs, but I don't know nothing about it and I don't know wgere to start.
Can some pros in Rom building give me some lights, links to start reading or files that I need to get started?
Thanks for all the help.

There are so many threads dedicated to this kind of topic pal, no need to start new ones, read read and search and then read and search more.

I have read and searched alot in this forum, but I didn't found nothing like "Rom building for Dummies".
All that I found is not easy to start or not complete.

yes, there's rom cooking for dummies

Thanks for the link.

Custom ROM Screenshots + Install help

Got it solved, thank you guys
Dude, Uh, Back up one page and read the threads that begin with [ROM]... Not trying to be a smart ass. But seriously homie..
Just read the stickys and how-to guides and this should answer a lot if your questions. In the threads about specific roms is where you'll find screenshots. But a lot of the benefits of specific roms have nothing to do with cosmetics, so you won't get a good idea about each rom without trying them and comparing.
Fyi posting questions that have been asked and answered without searching to find your answer first is likely to get you the middle finger from some members and make people not want to help you, so just keep that in mind. Enjoy your rooted eris when it happens.

Are you tried to read many tutorials which are posted in Chef Central? Or you prefer to have a piece of cake?
I'm suggesting you start with rollup thread by + Que PPC, it includes all information about this.
Good luck.
i was reading one and i was like wtf... i think i can do it but i am lost but ill check that out
You could check out my OsKitchen TUT Theres a link in my Sig, for any Q's, post in my thread
Yes... you should ask everyhting related in to the tutorial threads not start a new one... learn good
thread closed is redundant and unnecesary

Rom Noob.

I'm thinking about getting a new ROM as the one I have is stock and is utterly poop. Can you choose one and not ever need to change it again and it will stay the same speed for ever? I have a few questions that I hope you could all answer.
How do I install once downloaded a ROM
If I was to install a ROM and it did not work do I just do a hard reset to get it back to standard?
Once I have a new ROM can I still use apps that I have if I install them again?
Should I back up files I have atm and how?
wow
Have you read even a single postin this section of the forum?
all of thoseare answered at least 10,000 times already. If you look up there is even a thread with comparisons of ROMs now, how about starting that and then working from there.
No need for the WOW comment, I'm a bit impatient at times I will have a read about but would still like my questions answered.

thats one thing you dont want to be mate, impatient when it comes to flashing roms, for eperienced flashers its a 5 minute job, but for newcommers its easy to **** up.
I would suggest spending some time reading up about it before jumping straight in at the deep end.
Check the link in my sig and also the ones posted by shum97.
Good luck.

Here you go. Thank you very much for looking.

Most of the threads about rooting, backups, flashing roms and the like are in the development forum.
If you're having any issues or want to browse through, go to that forum and scroll through the first few pages of threads.
The first couple "sticky" threads have a lot of useful info in them.
thank you.

To contribute something back to the community, i've written a step-by-step guide for installing Android.
It includes picture illustrations and I hope to add to it troubleshooting answers and such.
It's still an on-going project but I hope it will help people to put Android onto their HD2.

Please post any comments or anything people would like added to it or any commonly answered questions that can help guide people. I hope this guide alongside the various forum guides we have, it will make it much easier for new starters
