I've got a new Nexus.
I have a 1A Loader for it.
With Hero it works great. About 1 hr it was from 15% to 100%
With Nexus it takes about 4 hrs.
Is that normal?

Is it just me, or does this bad boy take all day to charge? The transformer only outputs like 1.2amps. I've only gone from 45% to 77% in like 4 or 5 hours. It's sooo slow
Mine takes a really long time too, though I haven't measured it yet. I just plug it in at night when I go to sleep and it's done in the morning. The battery lasts me all day.
Is there a reason you need to charge it while you're awake? This thing lasts 5-8 hours easily; surely you aren't on it that much!

From experiment, it looks like taking one hour to charge 10%. So total time for full charge is about 10 hours. I used the nexus 7 charger and it took about 16 hours!
No problems charging here, I just charge overnight

Mine also charges very slowly. Discharges when on charge if you're using it (depending on what you're doing of course).
Any one know how much time n7 will take to charge 100%.
- Using power adapter
- Using system USB port.
Review stated it takes 3.30 hrs for ac charging.
Thanks
Muralidharan.

Yeah 4 hours here too. At least.
about 2-3 hours here
dont mind though as ive been out using heavy for whole days and still got back home at midnight with 65% left luv the nexus battery
Id love to hear how some claim to have fully charged their Nexus in 2 to 3 hours, it takes me 4 hours minimum to fully charge it from around 6%, i haven't let it drop beyond that yet.
I'm not 100% sure on the time but about 1-2 hours, but then again the lowest I've ever had it is 13%. I tend to keep it plugged in if I'm going to be doing something battery intensive like play games or a lot of web browsing, and tend to turn it off over night and pick up notifications on my phone as it doesn't give off as much light from the back light as my N7.
I love the battery life on the N7 as it could probably go for at least a day and a half on battery if I left it on all the time and used flight mode over night, but I don't want to kill the battery and have to mess around inside it to change the battery.

well, dont know f it makes a difference but im on the 32gb and only got it a week ago.... but yeah 2-3 hrs and im charged, might change over a few cycles.
It depends on what ac adapter you use, and how much current it puts out. I originally used my incredible s charger and out took forever
With the Asus OEM one it takes around 3 hours from around 0-5%

This here. It is horses for courses.
As for the debate on charging times. 3-4 hours is the norm for most of us. Given different tolerances in both the charger and battery some migh be on the lower end of the scale and some higher.
Just remember to use the OEM Asus adapter as it puts out 2amp at 5v. (Or a 2a equivalent) .
Most phone chargers and USB ports on comps/Xbox etc only output 500ma (.5 amp). You can use them but it will take a good ten hours to charge with them.

So far been lucky with my nexus but one thing that disappoints me is the slow charging .
On a fully drained bat it takes 5 hours to charge with stock charger.
Is this normal for the nexus ? When I opened it out the box I let the bat fully drain before charging, and its taken this long to charge every time.

Is not recommended to drain your battery completely to zero. Google also recommends to charge your battery fully when you first boot up your device. Many don't read the instructions that came with their box. Also if you do a bit of research you would have notice that your concerns have been asked and answered on other threads on here. And my last advice, plug you nexus 10 before bedtime that way is nice and full when you wake up. Problem solved.

I had mine off and charged overnight, woke up to 40% battery life.

5 to 6 hours is normal for a full charge from the A/C charger on a Nexus 10.

Yeah I just realized I was using a 5A charger and not the 10A one that came with.

Mine has got the same problem... I plug it in and it doesn't even load it's just stuck at 0%... + light bleed + slow gaming - Google/Samsung did not do a good job... Its seems like its just a prototype, a beta version....
Been going on and 2 amps and nexus 9 with same cable and brick charges faster and its battery is bigger than nexus 7s 2012 nexus 7 takes 8 hours to charge help
I purchased this tablet brand new maybe 6 months ago and haven't used it that much at all.
Tablet is maybe charged like 10 times total.
I noticed that Screen on time is drastically used from 9 hours when I purchased it (9 hours on wifi) to now only 6 hours (cca like 70 % of use with wifi).
So I thought that the stock charger is reducing the battery capacity because it is quick charger and charging battery with high current which I don't need.
Is it possible quick charger is the issue and making battery in worse condition?
Now I put it to charge over USB 2.0 port which is I think giving only 500 mA.
I never got 10 h of screen on time like on declaration of the tablet.
What is your SOT for this model?

My record is 11 hours using Netflix and Amazon video with 100% Wi-Fi in 48 hours of use. If it's 6 days, about 9 and a half hours. Downloading series and watching the chapters offline, it gives me 12 and a half hours with manual brightness of 70% on average. I am on android 9 and I have no intention of going up to A10 or A11 if it ever arrives. Very happy with my Tab S 5e!
Li's don't like sitting at a full charge especially in high heat. A 50% charge is much better for long idle times. Limiting the top charge to 80% and the max discharge to 20%, preferable 40% will greatly increase the life of the cell.
The capacity lose is most likely permanent.
If any swelling is noticeable replace immediately... fire hazard.
Then something is wrong with my tablet.
My total SOT is around 6 h watching youtube videos.
Is it better to do slow(normal) charge for the health of battery?
