Since my phone has been working well with the 1.48 ROM, is there anything I'm missing when compared to the new 1.66 ROM? No issues with SMS...don't want to go through the process of reinstalling apps if nothing is gained.

I've asked this a couple of times but nobudy seems to have the answer. and in light of reading about the problems that people have xperienced with 1.66, I've decided to stick with 1.48
The only other fix that I'm aware of is that the lock screen/emails not opening from Sense issue that was introduced in 1.48 has been resolved. Other than that, the screen seems a little less responsive (although I'm used to it now) and the Task Manager has been moved to the Start Menu.

What problems with 1.66? I've only just installed it so couldn't say I've tested it thoroughly but I haven't come across any/heard of any...
you also finally get Facebook events synchronization in contacts. before it was just birthdays.

Even in 1.48 ROM i am getting profile pics of my facebook friends in contact list.

me too ! and i can open email from just a tap on sense? i havent had a problem with the sticking sms since the sms update so i think i will stick with the 148 for a bit longer...

I have used several iterations of PocketCM, 0.23 being the last one before going to 0.24. I uninstalled 0.23 properly and put 0.24 on. For some reason it's really flaky when it comes to showing the message threads. It will display correctly that there are text messages for a certain person, but when I click on that person, it will either say "No Messages", or it will only show some of the messages, usually just the most recent one. If I go back and forth enough times, it will show all the messages, then if I go back and forth again, only part of the messages (usually the most recent ones) will be there. Same goes for messages that I sent, they show up right after they have been sent, but when I come back right after looking at the contacts, the messages that I have written will have disappeared, just to come back again along with all the others at some time later.
PocketCM is installed in device memory.
I have cleared out all my messages just to make sure nothing was corrupt there, so I am working with all new messages.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it.
I have used different themes.
I leave it running in the background at all times so that the longish initial load time won't slow my phone down.
Am I the only one with that problem, or has anyone else encountered this.
I have a Sprint Touch with the original 6.0 ROM.

i have seen this too....only on one contact...the one person i have a picture set for that i also sms with....why don't you post this in the pocketcm thread???

Did you have the same problem with an earlier version of PocketCM? All my previous versions worked fine as far as that was concerned.

no...this started with .24 for me....does this happen to you with contacts w/o pictures?....it seems to only happen to me when i have a pic with the contact..
I think you're on to something...same deal here, only happens to contacts that have pictures!!

I deleted the contact picts and i have not had a problem since.
But...but....I want my contact pictures in there, that's part of what makes this app so cool...especially with the mirror effect! I hope Tene can fix this when he has some time!
I'm not sure if I'm just looking in the wrong place, but I can't find the latest SMS hotfix on HTC website anymore. Is it because of some issues with the hotfix?

the hotfix is no good and even if it is in the web site i recommend you no to use it , rumors are there will be a new one today lets see , but i am no longer optimist that it would work

did you try before the comment because on my device it's working wonderfull.
No waiting time to send an sms, 50% faster and a highlight of the last recieved sms...
So I don't know why it isn't online anymore but it works...

Something has corrupted my message notifications, so I no longer recieve sounds for messages and emails etc. Enough though the hot fix addressed the SMS loading thread issue, I bet it has caused the issue I currently have, as I havent installed anything else. The SMS loading issue may have been annoying at times, but there were easy work arounds. Not hearing or feeling when a message comes in is damn annoying!
After installing this hotfix on my phone, I downloaded my archived messages (about 2000 of them) and tried the SMS tab. Everything worked great, apart from the known and reported issues about the display going a little odd when it had loaded all messages.
Everything was fine and then my phone suddenly started running slower than my old HD used to. Everything was stuttering and laggy, and I mean the whole phone - not just the SMS tab.
After numerous restarts and turning things off and on again, I finally re-archived all my text messages so that there were none on the phone and guess what.... it's fine again now.
The hot"fix" wasn't so hot if you ask me.

Just change your ringtone, save, recieve an sms, change it back to the old one and it works again...

for the moment over 1700 messages in my phone and no problem of a laggy UI or programs. And I use TomTom for +/- 2hours a day, opera, rss reader & pdf for a few hours and my camera.
Wich rom are you using (I use Miri V2.0)
wth... cant HTC do anything right?? Have they ever heard of quality assurance and testing before releaseing softwareupgrades?

I'm using 1.48 official. I'm gonna leave it till 1.6 comes out before I choose whether or not to go unofficial.
I'm not sure what this thread is about, but I recently got my HD2 and it won't send all my SMS. Is this what the patch is for?

nope there for is the first update.
This update or hotfix is for the slow loading sms page when having a lot of stored messages.

It does look nice, but I'd probably turn it off straight away as I'd never use it!

I sent an email on the HTC Website and I got a reply that Hot Fix was pulled out because of compatibility issues.
Edit: by the way, they said a new one will be released soon.
Has anyone noticed how stupid difficult it is to link FB accounts to your google contacts? Its like they took a good way of doing it (Hero 1.5) and just was like "nope, we need something new"
For example, I loved how Hero 1.5 imported the FB picture to the google contact so when the person called you had a quality picture come up. But with 2.1 its like you can either only have the google contact OR the FB as the primary. But the picture never gets imported!
Or am I missing something??

After some poking around I'm thinking that the Facebook Feature isn't 100%. If you're using KiNgxKxKlair Eclair Hero Version 1.0 "Official Release" and go through the normal SetUp.. you'll notice once you skip over the google sign in that singing into facebook is grayed out. Maybe it's just broken at this point.

I always sync my favorite contacts with Facebook but since sometimes my phone contacts don't have a picture that fits well on the contact avatar of the phone or they're not alone in the picture- I like to use a picture that I added myself on the phone. I've realized that everytime FB syncs with the phone my contacts picture automatically changes to the new picture on FB and I have to go back to the personal picture myself. Has anyone else experienced this same "bug" ? It never happened to me with Liberated Eclair

Suggestion: Since we have 2 kernel options for FR008, I would make a nandroid backup of your current ROM/kernel and then flash the other kernel and see if you still have the issue. If you didn't experience the issue on Liberated Eclair, then maybe Liberated Froyo with the HTC Hong Kong kernel may not have the issue. Just a thought?

I forgot to mention that I'm running FR008 with the HK kernel. What are you running? Have you had this problem before?
I don't think its a bug. It was also present on the stock A&T 2.1 rom that came with the phone.
I think HTC just made it so if you choose to sync fb contacts it will automatically select the newest pictures available. Sadly, I never found a way to bypass it (so I just switched to CM6).

I running the HK kernel, too, however, I don't allow FB to sync contacts because this is a company phone and I use the company's Exchange Server to store and sync my contacts.
For me it's an intermittent issue. For some contacts the override stays indefinitely, for some a few days, and for one person it reverts to the FB pic with every synch. I have no idea what logic HTC uses to determine which pic to show.

Really? I used 2.1 for like 3 months since I got my phone and I never dealed with this issue. Now on FR008 it's so annoying, some of my contacts switches pictures everyday and I have to constantly revert my phone contacts to the desired picture. Maybe it's not a bug and it's a function causing this, I just wish I knew which one

i don't think its a bug. facebook is syncing properly and pulling the appropriate information. if anything, i'd imagine the bug was with eclair for not pulling the picture.
if you don't like dealing with it, you can always switch back.

Did you even read the thread? I tell my phone specifically to use the picture I asigned to my contacts but it keeps on switching to the picture on FB.

So, I recently exchanged my HD2 for a new one, and the ROM was upgraded on the new one (I think). It's 3.14.561.1 WWE. I used to be able to sync my Facebook with my contacts on my old phone, but for some reason it doesn't work. When you go to Link the Facebook with a contact, it's supposed to show up their picture, but instead, it show's the grey head. After browsing, I noticed theres nothing in \Windows\FBContacts, but 3 random picture's in \Temp\fbimagecache. I'm between a rock and a hard place. Facebok v1.1.0.26
tl;dr Would having 3.14 ROM and this v of fb make a difference?
