I did a (fake) full screen background for the default Mega’s theme, but you can do it for any image that you like.
>> Here is a usefull Tutorial about how to edit images by TheRem. <<
The defaults (Brown) Mega’s “Taskbar” and “SoftKeyBar” images for “HTC Black” theme, are named:
“HTCblack_taskbar.png” for Taskbar (UpBar) and “HTCblack_softkeybar.png” for SoftKeyBar (Down Bar).
They are under “/Windows” folder and you CAN'T replace them.
So what we do?
Its simple.
1. First of all you need a 240x320 (any format) image.
(For my example i used the default Mega's Background that is named "HTC_stwater_240_320.jpg" and you can find it under "/Windows" folder)
2. Crop it like TheRem’s Tutorial.
BUT crop both images (Taskbar’s and Shoftkeybar’s ) at 240x26 and NOT 240x18 / 240x34 as TheRem’s Tutorial.
3. Save them both as PNG (it might work for other formats too but not test it).
4. Transfer the two images to the phone.
(For my example I named images as “HTCblack_taskbar1.png” and “HTCblack_softkeybar1.png” and I put them under “/Windows” folder. But you can name them as you like and put them anywhere you like)
5a. Open a Registry Editor and head for TaskBar to: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Taskbar” open the “TaskBarThemeImage” and change the path “\Windows\HTCblack_Taskbar.png” to path that you place the image for Taskbar.
5b. For ShoftKeyBar head to: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\SoftKeyBar” and edit “SoftKeyBarThemeImage” as above.
(For my example I swapped paths to “\Windows\HTCblack_Taskbar1.png” and “\Windows\HTCblack_softkeybar1.png” respectively)
6. When you end all these, do a soft-reset and you will get these results.

This is a very nice but the operator panel with logo and the bottom of the icons remain the same color as byl.a just popojet programs and as background will turn from bad to Windows.já I'd like to see more of something greater transparency to all the panels to the picture really over entire screen.

The images that you want to change are part of Manila2d (TouchFLO2.0) and not part of windows system. So you need to search @ "M2D2.0 Themes Topic" about them... Anyway the images that you want are named "hh_fw_tab_bg_fill.png" and "hh_fw_title.png" under "\Windows" Folder but i dont know yet the registry keys that allows you to replace them... so do your search @ ''M2D2 Themes'' topic and i think you ll reach your answer

-thanks chriscsh, because i use his some files.
I'm sorry the first version don't work weather update, but now all work
Nice i'll give it a go.
Cool theme! I have some problems though...
1. The weather icon is too large. It seems to be double the size it should be.
2. Everything seems kind of cramped. Maybe things could be spaced out a slight bit more?
3. Maybe the music icon can show the artwork and controls on the bottom of the screen (and leave everything else still on the screen)?
Besides that, it looks great! Very minimalist.
About wether icons the last time i change icons on more big. Now i make VGA version and maybe new 0.2 being .cab files and could be spaced out a slight bit more. Wait.
New version 0.12. Just the wait!!!
now need make easy .cab files (0.12 and now only for QVGA displeys)

I don't need a CAB, only the theme folder
So that's what that IE icon was for, you were adding it in the next version
New version 0.12
Is it possible to change the icon of an EXE, a folder or a shortcut to an icon in the format .ICO or .BMP or something similar?
I know that it is possible to do this if your desired icon is inside a .dll file, but whats about a simple ICO file or a small BMP image? can they be assigned?
On my HD .ico files are opened with Opera and look like a regular Opera file - red "O" in the Explorer ... ugly...
Can someone help?
I want to change the folder icons in the start menu and to use this wonderful icons in TF3D:

Has no one an idea (((((
A last try to revive this topic.
I just can't believe Windows Mobile doesn't support ICO files!
Can I convert some ICO files to a DLL library using a tiny easy-to-use EXE?
i am also interested in changing folder icons for example.
tried copying a win vista dll to the pocket pc - and use SK Shortcut manager to open it. it worked but the icons were low res, no go for my hd.
i also tried making my own shell library but again encountered a problem. sk shortcut manager opened them, but found out that the icons where lacking transparency - bummer.
i was certain resco explorer could change icons (like windows on your pc can do from win explorer), but when i tried, theres no option i also tried file explorer w/ext's.. no go.. you might try total commander
sounds like you need something like
http://www.shelllabs.com/change_exe_icon.htm
though this is for windows
GOT IT !!!
Now I can customize my own icons
Look into my thread! Here is my DLL! In alpha state Try it out! Use Code: 1 to 17
justr modify the shortcut path of an *.INK file!
for example: "Blablabla\asdfasdf\Prog.exe"?windows\KSicon.dll-1
I maybe have a better idea to change a icon to own customized picture
1. go to http://www.shelllabs.com/iconchanger_download.htm and download the file IconChanger38.exe
2. Customize your own picturer (jpg, bmp, png)
3. Go to http://www.coolutils.com/Online-Image-Converter.php to change the
file extention (jpg, bmp, png) to .ico
4. Copy the (programname).exe from your phone to the Desktop
5. Right click on the (programname).exe and press Change icon
6. Search for the (filename).ico you want to have as icon (search on your desktop)
7. Then press Set and your (programname).exe icon will change
8. Put the changed (programname).exe file on your phone and reboot your phone
That's the trick
Restorator is best way to change icon for any filetypes.
http://www.bome.com/Restorator/
Just open file, search old icon, change with new and save file.
Hey folks,
i have had some requests for my program icons so i decided to post them
I will add more when i have more time

NOTES
=====
1. This cab will install the following
icon.dll (required for the icons to your windows directory)
Folders with my icons to your start->programs menu
2. The folders that will be installed have been given an ENGLISH name. If you have your default folders in another language, you will end up with your original ones PLUS my own folders.
===================
CUSTOMIZE YOUR FOLDERS
===================
1. Using a file explorer navigate to /windows/start menu/programs
2. Every folder (from my skin, has its own icon.lnk file. You can copy that to any folder you like to give it the same icon
3. Put that mess in a nice organized order!!!

Thanks, they are cool. looks great with the new rhodium icons.
Thanks
Excellent. These might end up in my ROM, if I can get evrything else working. Seems like nobody wants to share the Rhodium commanager, which is all I need to make more progress. Thumbs up
Here's some I put together. Not quite as nice, but effective.
Same install instuctions as Gianni86's folder icons.

Good evening,
I cant write english in a good way, so have fun at reading^^
This is my solution to add the Envelope/letter do the messaging-tab.
As you can see the background of the letter in the messaging tab AND in the mail-tab were changed.

Cheated solution for Bug2 (Long messages will be displayed over the envelope) - Included in "Files2" (at Downloads)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Go with an explorer to the windows directory and copy the files
hh_email_background.png
hh_email_envelope_down.png
hh_email_envelope_up.png
HTCHomeSettings.xml
to your storage card or anywhere else - THIS will be your backup, IF it doesnt work.
2. Copy the new files on your device. On the device you should copy all of the files in the windows-directory. You will be asked to overwrite the files - If you done task 1 its ok.
3. Restart Manila/Touchflo2D:
Settings -> Home -> System;
Uncheck "TouchFlo" -> Click OK;
Open the Home-Settings a second time -> System
Check "TouchFlo" -> Click OK -> Close Settings
4. There is no 4th Task, youre finished =)
BUGS:
1. If you scroll between your sms the envelope (not the letter) will slide too.
(Its the cause of replacing the line with the letter in the background)
2. Long messages will be displayed over the envelope (UNLIKE the mail-tab; the mails will be displayed correctly there)
(I made a cheated solution, with a white envelope - you can see it in the second picture)
Please notify that the home tab etc. will be changed too!
DOWNLOAD:
(I also uploaded my own created background/wallpaper) (Please dont host the files anywhre else and let the advertisement on uploaded.to opened 10 seconds):
It is VERY impossible to backup your files! (INSTRUCTIONS - Task1)

Files2 (with white envelope + original files): http://ul.to/6t7fyt

PS: If you change things, like bugs etc. please post it here
Greetings
Hoamer
will this work in htc home, not manila?
Hm, i dont know. If htc-home is also based on xml-file it is possible - you can try it, but it is VERY impossible to backup your files - then you can try anything^^
If it works please post it here
EDIT: I searched for HTC-Home; no, this will not work with HTC-Home
Greetings
Hoamer

You only can't change Buttons (Yes/No).
Check this my custom theme on attachment.
where should i copy this files, in win root?
any pics?
It was Kitchmen package, but you can install it manually.
Extract it, copy files in \amarullz_GreenBlack\files\*.* into \Windows
And change your themes in Start Menu->Settings->Today
i am also using visual kitchen, will put it in...
EDIT: well only thing i got new is scroll bar, and green selecting, can i somehow keep scrollbar and have blue selecting?
also how to get vista/win7 wait animation?

You can edit the Images. There is "listViewSelector.ManilaGreen.png" and other files ( I think you know the image will show in which area just by read the filename ). For system color, you should edit the ClassicGreen.tsk file with WinCECab Manager.
For your message box design, you can easily edit the "msgboxBorder.ManilaGreen.png", and "msgboxTitle.ManilaGreen.png".
For vista wait animation, you need to edit the dll file with reshack, try to find it, it was available in some thread..
sorry for my english
i will try "msgboxBorder.ManilaGreen.png", and "msgboxTitle.ManilaGreen.png".
but for dll, i will need to request....
