Hey,
I recently ran the EU 3.05 RUU with HTC Sense and ever since I can no longer see protected apps (apps that cannot be backed up, e.g. Twidroid PRO) in the Android market. I was able to able to download them when I was running the 3.03 HK Sense.
I'm wondering if there's any way to re-enable the ability to download protected apps?
I'm on VodafoneUK, rest of my info is in my signature.

Please dont tell me to look at the downloads tab, because i know that.
Basically when i install a new rom, the market has now lost the free apps because thats what it does. the market must have some sort of file it maintains locally with the list of apps, and whether or not they are set to auto-update. where is this list so i can just paste it into my new rom, and market will automatically get all the apps and maintain the auto update settings.
(also i know and use titanium backup so dont reply with 'use titanium', i just want to do what im looking for so the market always gets the latest version on a rom redo and also keeps holding the auto-update status.)
thanks.
Did you try dialing the market update code?
*#*#2432546#*#*
That's suspose to resync with the market I think.

In the sync settings for google, there is a backup option. It will download all previously installed apps when you setup the new rom, including free apps. If you don't want all if the apps to install, skip setup initially and open the market. Use that to log into your google account, then jump to the downloads window and cancel the ones you don't want. It will also insure you have the newest version.
This will not back up app data, however. Just re-install the app.
*I am currently looking for where this setting is inside settings.

only see a contacts, gmail and calender in google sync settings.
I have looked around inside the os for the setting. The only way I can find it is to remove my google account and re-add it. At the end, it gives you the option to back up all data. That us the opinion that enables this I believe.

ive downloaded copilot from torrent, now can i install it without root the phone or do i need to root the wildfire to do it?
You can install it with no problems on a nonrooted wildfire, given the torrent isn't corrupt. I myself have copilot and run it with almost no problems, and I'm not rooted.
Erwin
so rooting its only needed to install custom rom?
i can install any downloaded app with an unrooted phone? cause ive saw theres a marketplace app drm protection system
You can install downloaded apps off other sources (You just need the APK and SD Card Data, if any). This process is called 'sideloading'. To enable this, just make sure the following setting is activated:
Settings > Applications > Tick 'Unknown Sources'.
so the marketplace app drm protection system is totally unuseful?
and again rooting is only needed for custom roms?

I am not aware of any marketplace DRM systems. Maybe it is used only to protect paid apps or such. You will have to look it up yourself / ask an experienced member. Besides, AFAIK, Free Apps dont have any DRM Protection on them, since, they are, well, free. (GetJAR is one site where you will find APK's of many free apps)
Rooting is used for Custom ROMs, and also a number of other uses like getting Root only apps to work (SetCPU, Titanium Backup, Root Explorer etc)., Overclocking your phone, Phone backups and Restore via Nandroid etc.

There is a problem with copilot on the wildfire and I'm sure you will encounter it when you have to type it really is screwed up.
Dont know if its all wildfires but a few people have complained about it and it certainly done it on mine
the problem is if you type a word
i.e "home" it types like "Hhomomooeme"
its a pain in the ### to type
so this problem is not for any wildfire right? witch is the best alternative for copilot?
can somebody tell what i have to do to install copilot once ive downloaded it from torrent? i cant understand how can i install it on andorid 2.1 if i cant run software from sd, how i should put it inside the phone if i can access just the sd?

Get Astro File manager from the market.
I found a way to type "normally" on copliot if it does mess up.
after every letter you enter you press backspace once.
so to correctly spell "home" you need to press:
H - Backspace - o - Backspace - m - Backspace - e
you do not need to press backspace after spaces
Hello,
i found nothing about, therefore i will ask it.
I made a couple of CWF flashes and downgrades, and as i was on a Raidroid only temporarily for Radio S-OFF & Super CID the market logged my phone and overwrited me all my app settings with the standard ones (facebook, google, adobe - 5 or 6 apps before there were 20 or more). All my other downloads are not listed in the market website anymore.
The apps & settings i became back with Titanium Backup Pro also the Market Links. When i go on my android into the market and my apps, are all there and i can update it. But if i install a new ROM it will not download it automatically new from the market. Short question: Is there a way to force Google to actualize my downloade apps as it has done where i was on Raidroid ?
Thanks!
Stefan
Sorry for my english is complicated and i am german
I run CM7 for the most part on my phone and have purchased several apps from withing CM7.
Well i got the urge to run Stock rom/Stock based rom and there are 2 apps that i purchased that no longer show up in the stock rom. I go to my apps in market and they dont show up.
I do a clean flash of CM7 and set up my google account and they are there...
why dont all apps show up = between roms?

Some applications are not compliant with Gingerbread and do not so up.
for what it is worth....
I had a similar incident with Widgets. I ran the 2.3.3 leaked rom for a few day and was amazed at how many applications had widgets that we not showing up on CM7. And it just comes down to the Developer hasn't reconfigured their app to work with EXT4 ROMs.
Its actually the other way around, apps i can find and use within GB do not show up within Froyo

Problem with that is if they update my paid apps they do not show up in the market, even with free apps. if i pull apk from my GB rom and load on Froyo.

IF you go to to the Android Market on the web do they show up in the "my downloads" section?
Yes. and if im on a stock froyo rom, or the leaked GB stock rom, i cannot see them on market. or send them to my phone from the market website
Titanium Backup or MyBackup Pro (I like it because it's easier) should help you be able to restore apps regardless of whether or not they show up in the market. Sometimes apps disappear on me, too, and when I search for them in the Market there they are! Weird...
Hi, can anyone confirm if when you download from MarketPlace it remembers ? i have just flashed new rom and of course dont have the previous installed apps seperate
Market remembering
If you mean the official Android Market, yes it will remember what you have downloaded and purchased.
When I bought my Iconia Tab it immediately showed all the apps I had downloaded and installed on my Droid phone. It only shows the ones that were INSTALLED, not the ones downloaded and UNINSTALLED, or side-loaded from somewhere else.
Open the Market app and choose Menu-Purchase History- log in and all free and purchased apps will be displayed.
Have fun!
I have more than one Gmail acount and I signed in with the wrong one once. Signed back in with my other account and everything was good.
