I think i'd probably swap my Nexus One for one of THESE!
P
I might want to, but probably only for the Sense UI. Which is going to end up in a firmware. Which then I will revert back to the stock or a CM...
Damn buying a product and then literally a day later (for me) a more interesting version coming out...
Beautiful Phone! But what is the difference other than the optical stick and Sense to slow it down?
Eh, I don't see anything special.
Sense UI - Personally, I'm not a fan. All Sense UI means is having to wait MUCH longer for Android updates; MONTHS longer such as past phones have had to wait. If you want Sense, someone will copy it to the N1 within a few days anyway. Why is Sense UI stock a plus? More like a downside really.
N1 looks better than the Desire imo. N1 has style. Desire is a rectangular brick.
No DivX/Xvid support? Bleh. That was also something I was hoping would happen (so that we could get it hacked onto the N1 .
The only positive I see is the hard buttons, since soft buttons on the N1 are kind of wonky. The optical trackpad is also > trackball, but then you miss out on the glowing notifications (which will eventually be hacked to be all sorts of awesome). 64 MB more ram is nice too.
Not impressed.
hmmm didn't know it had more RAM (576MB)
Hope the FM radio code can be run on the N1
Pretty phones as usual! Can't wait for the HTC Sense UI to be ripped!
The Bravo also has HD video recording.
Anyone know if this is a hardware or software feature of the Bravo?
Could this be ported to the Nexus also?

yes i am looking forward to the FM radio being ported over to N1..
I really hope that it is possible!
Why would they ugly up the bottom and combine two butons on one side but not the other side? There's no symmatry, also, jay leno called he wants his chin back.
I would like to know about the hd video recording too
Cyanogen said he was salivating over this one compared to the N1; I asked him why on Twitter, no response. It's the same phone, except it has Sense and a new button. What's the big deal?

There was a response. Two of them actually:

@Tampsh capacitive buttons and sdcard slot being blocked by the battery.

I like the capacity buttons actually, plus I prefer the stock android to the sense interface.
I don't think the HTC Bravo/Desire has the noise cancellation feature.
Correct, the Desire doesn't have the noise cancellation, Sense UI also means months between updates when the Nexus will get theres first since it's Google's phone. Also that horrible chin is back, even though the touch buttons are weird on the Nexus One you get used to them and prefer them more then the hardware. Also the Sense UI slows down your phone and the HD playback is the software not hardware so Nexus will also get that. Trackball color notfication > optical ball.
And most importantly..THE NEXUS ONE IS GOOGLE'S PHONE, not some random phone by HTC which won't be as popular as the Nexus or be supported as long as the Nexus.

Incorrect.
A) Google is not marketing / advertising the Nexus One... AT ALL, because they're afraid to step on manufacturer's toes. So the Nexus One will never ever reach popularity.
B) The Desire will be released in Europe AND Asia, which has a hell of a lot more potential customers than the US.
I wish A) wasn't true, but oh well. Sadly, the Nexus One will stay a "sleeper" hit and never much more than that.
Not quite sure what is so appealing about that. It looks damn hideous to me.
Alright.. my two cents...
1) it'd be great if the momory card was hot-swappable, but it's not. The nexi boots so quick though it honestly doesn't matter to me. Besides its harder for someone to take if you were ever in that situation where your phone was at risk (i.e. a bar or party or something)
2) the capacitive buttons give the nexus one a futuristic look. The hardware buttons make the phone look already less attractive. The capacitive buttons on the nexi are a little sketch at times, but seriously you have to be picky or something to not like them. Find the sweet spots of the buttons (up a little) and you're a happy camper.
3) noise cancellation is amazing on the nexus. I get compliments on how crystal clear my voice is all the time.
4) its butt fuggin ugly.
5) Sense UI sucks. I had it on my HTC Magic and all it did was bloat it up and slow it down.
And come on...the name is lame too! Nothing beats Nexus One. How fugging bad ass does that sound seriously. And we get Google AND HTC support, and its just amazing...
NEXUS ONE FTW!!!!

Oh and we have a coloured trackball and a secksay design.

You havea vibrant?
I just got a Samsung a hour ago.. I have a Nexus One now with 2.2 on it.
After 1 hour.. My review..
The usb charging port for the Samsung is on the top of the phone.. Stupid because when you use it in the car the cable needs to reach the top and loop around..
It has 16GB internal and comes with a 2GB microSD card..
It does not seem any faster than the Nexus One, and the Nexus one has the roller ball which I actually use and the Samsung has no hardware buttons on the front..
Camera seems the same, pictures look close to me..
I am suprised how much better the bigger screen looks, I did not think it would be noticable but everything just looks better bigger!!!..
ONE REALLY big thing though... The antenna on the Samsung works better somehow. The Nexus One has never been 3G at my office and the Samsung has full bars on 3G. The Nexus One is showing 3 bars on Edge.. ( I flashed a few days ago to the 2.2 radio, same signal before flash)
So, after 1 hour the I am not sure which is better.. My N1 is pretty beat up and 7 months old (got it jan 5th) but I need 2.2 on the Samsung to actually like using it..
ALSO, the charging port on the top is retarded!!!

Sweet. Thanks for that. Yea power on top sounds weird... awesome reception sounds like...
Also do you know where the antenna is on the vibrant.. top or bottom? Thanks...
I believe if i were to get this phone i would have better 3G because of the N1 antenna woes. But i dont think getting this phone is worth the jump but i will convince my brother to ditch is BB for this
Me! I love it! It feels smaller, screen is way better, it is super snappy, and touchcwiz is actually way better than I thought it would be. 3d gallery is now like butter, love it! Market wont download anything yet though, fails everytime. Sucks, but other than that... also, I am itching to uninstall bloat on it, grr

This may not be a bad thing for everyone though. Would actually work well for me since it stays in my cupholder and I just use BT. Granted, with my G1, it's upside down but CM's orientation hack makes the screen right-side up (not sure if the Vibrant has that incorporated).
Otherwise, yes, the port on top is somewhat odd.
someone will come out with a 90 degree angled usb connection end - if there's not one out there already

I have been playing around with mine for about 3 hours now and i have to agreee with every thing you said and it is pretty much dead on. My reception to is better on the vibrant than the N1 don't know why it just is. I will hold onto my N1 before selling it and play with the SV more to get a "feel" for it
I wish they would have given you a better way to take a picture or activate the shutter, and I wish there was a better way to "wake" the phone up instead of the side button or a double click of the side button.
Also I wanted to comment on the build of the phone I don't think the weight of this phone gives it a "cheap" feel to it I prefer how light it is compared to my N1 and it feels good in my hand.
Just my .02

Had my N1 since Jan 5th as well and have LOVED it. Rooted immediately, ran Modaco's Desire Sense port for a while before moving back to CM. Got my Vibrant Monday (yes, really). Rooted Tuesday. Ran Modaco's script to rearrange the internal memory / apps configuration and made the Vibrant go from fast to BLAZING. TouchWiz not bad, but not overly impressed with Samsung's widgets. Some are good, some are a little finicky. Sense nailed widgets much better but Samsung's are decent and better than nothing.
Comparatively, N1 was snappier out of the box as no UI overlay. However with some modding this phone will be on par or perhaps outperform N1 (I say that sensitively as N1 has an extremely special place in my heart . Samsung's Hummingbird processor is phenomenal and outperforms N1 on side-by-side 3d rendering test (YouTube Nexus 1 Galaxy S Quake to see). Vibrant's SuperAmoled Screen is what makes this phone truly special-- it's nothing short of incredible and makes N1's screen seem small and dim in comparison. ESPECIALLY in sunlight- N1 was basically unusable, this thing is nearly un-impacted. Watch the preloaded Avatar on it-- it's just gorgeous. The size and weight are beautiful, the super-light weight does make it almost feel a hair toy-ish but as soon as you touch the silky-smooth screen that feeling disappears. I really was looking for a step up in screen size from N1 and this delivers without the almost-too-big feeling of Evo or HD2.
Cons- miss the trackball for precise in-text navigation and notification alerts. But there's already talk of a mod to flash the capacitive buttons on the bottom for notifications- this will help, especially as there's no LED or anything else to visually alert for notifications. . As previously mentioned, side-mounted lock / unlock button is kind of annoying and will take some getting used to. You can only partially customize TouchWiz's bottom static shortcut dock. Of course, installing ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro will solve that and completely hide TouchWiz but you then lose ability to use Samsung's proprietary widgets, again some of which are actually nice. Also, TouchWiz's unlock on screen method is AWFUL- just a big rectangular movement of the entire screen. Boring and ugly. But you can eliminate lock screen all together with free Market app called No Lock (go figure lol).
All in all, a screen that is definitely a contender for top in the market; all-around outstanding hardware that will take a bit of getting used to from N1; stock software that has improved; modding will make this device a fire-breathing lightning monster (lol).
Love it and highly recommend!!!!!!!!

Can you you please provide links to step by step rooting procedure before flashing modacos rom ?
Thank you in advance
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I just traded in my Nexus One yesterday and figured I'd revive this instead of starting a new thread. Had it for a full day, and here's what I think about it so far. (I will try to revive this at a month in, then six months in, then a year in if I keep it that long.)
+ It's much lighter, but very plasticky. I loved the aluminum and heft of the N1, but all of the plastic is made up in spades by it's sleek, smooth design. It's a beautiful device.
+ 3G on the Vibrant is much more consistent than it ever was with the N1.
- I really miss my LED notifications. NoLED is alright, but not as dependable. (It doesn't work with Go SMS popups.)
+ The screen is AWESOME. It's much brighter and more color-accurate, though not by a terrible amount. I absolutely love the size of it.
+ 16GB...internal storage!!! I can not only fit all of my music without a SD card, but can fit my ENTIRE LIBRARY with ANOTHER 16GB card! AMAZING!
+ It's a really fast phone.
+ It's a really fast phone.
+ With Nero 4.1/Voodoo, it's a really fast phone.
+ Multitouch actually works well, since I can use Swype like a normal keyboard and rotate on Google Maps (which is FRIGGIN SWEET)
- No flash is a bit of a letdown.
+ Camera makes up for it; it's quite good. Haven't tried recording with it yet, though.
- GPS is a BIG letdown, though triangulation is getting me by.
+ I thought I would hate Touchwiz, and I found out I (sort of) do. I hate the launcher, but it's apps are REALLY good. For example,
+ The music app is solid, and has an equalizer!
+ Alarm app is full-featured (has a timer, stopwatch, etc.)
+ Daily briefing could be useful
+ Desk mode is nice
+ Galaxy Tab email is really nice, though it doesn't provide any better features over the stock email app.
The one disadvantage...
- Wow, there is Engrish EVERYWHERE
- Proprietary drivers suck, but that's tolerable
- Not as straightforward to unlock at the firmware level, but that's tolerable too.
- Will be last to get official updates, but most of us run rooted/modified stuff, so that point is moot. A Gingerbread port is in the works and there are plenty of great Froyo ROMs for the device right now. (Nero 4.1 is froyo-based, and there is an unofficial, "stock" Froyo-based ROM floating around that I put on my Dad's Vibrant. He loves it, no issues so far.)
Final word (at this point): Highly recommend. I absolutely loved my Nexus One, as it was easily the best phone I've ever owned. However, this and the Nexus S (for the Google support the Nexus One enjoys) are clearly superior devices.
So the Evo 2 might be coming or not that's up to sprint and HTC to decide anyways, what are something that you would like in your Evo, the would be sweet to make it a better phone then what it is already?
I would like the retina display, of course for the Evo would be more resolution then the iPhone cause is a bigger screen , and also flash memory like the apple devices not for nothing but the speed things a lot
What are your suggestions ?

Get rid of the gimmicky kickstand, and with that space install a larger battery.
Use a screen that can show millions of colors instead of just 65k.
That's it. Any software issues can be addressed with rooting+ROMS.

The 65k limitation was an Android limitation. 2.3 is supposed to be the first version that allows more than 65k colors. I believe it's been said the evo screen can handle 24bit color.

An extended life battery that comes stock so the phone could easily be used all day and night on one charge. The sprint extended battery for the evo is acceptable. I really dislike the whole sd card mechanism. How about a spring loaded one like the epic? Last but not least, better radios. 3g, 4g, and wifi reception is worse than other top tier phones. Once again, the epic performs better in that category than the evo (in tests with myself and gf using each of the phones). I'm not saying epic is a better phone than the evo either. I'm saying the evo has room for improvement.
I'm not going to start ranting about samsung.....
I would like to see a better display, the latest hardware available like dual care and better GPU, and like the man above me stated an easy to access sdcard slot on the side of the phone instead of under the battery. Pretty annoying to have to power the phone down and remove the battery just to access the sdcard. Most Samsung phones have the sdcard in a side slot. Why can't HTC do this?
I love the kickstand i dont find it gimicky at all ... I dont know how many times ill be watching a UFC fight or sporting event and with out the kickstand it would be blah to have to sit and hold it there. Much easier to prop it on my work desk and just chill.

Also, +1 here for loving the kickstand.
Factory option for AOSP. I don't mind carriers and manufacturers to theme Android, but I think that allowing the phone to have AOSP on it should be REQUIRED and an option right out of the box.
Also, +1 for the kickstand love
i agree with the AOSP option although I just dont see it all that likely.
definitely an LED screen. not that it bothers me, but the droid x with the camera button and using the volume rocker as zoom, I think thats pretty innovative. maybe the camera not so exposed as well.

Yeah, HTC made a HUGE design mistake by having the camera stick out like it does. Waaaaaay to easy to scratch.
Also, am I the only one who misses mini-USB over micro-USB? It seems micro-USB is more finicky, and the cables break easier.

The only problem with having AOSP as an option, is that it's only attractive to geeky types. The mass market can't handle choice. If they have to research a product for 10 extra minutes to figure out which option they'd like, the consumer will probably just pick the phone that chooses for them.
This is exactly why the iphone is so successful. People only have to decide how much memory they need (which is still a chore for a lot of users), and Apple does the rest.
I realize that choice is one of the main marketing points of Android, but like I said, too much choice drives people away. I think the current model is the best way to go. This way, the mass audience gets the easy setup, no hassle environment they want, and geeks can figure out how to customize it themselves.

No one said it had to be default. HTC could have sense as the default, and if that was all you wanted, so be it. You'd never have to worry about vanilla. Adding an option to switch to vanilla buried somewhere in the menu IS NOT going to keep people away. Hell, who is even saying they would have to advertise it? Just put the option in there. For 90% of the population, nothing would change. For the other 10%, our experience would be much more satisfying.
I would like a dual core processor, more internal memory(i am just to damn cheap to buy a 32gb microsd card).

No one said it had to be default. HTC could have sense as the default, and if that was all you wanted, so be it. You'd never have to worry about vanilla. I second that! And more memory won't hurt (like thunderbolt).
This on too!

Dual core, which means it would need a better battery or else it dies out 2x faster with the stock (well sort of)
Dual core, as a HTC device that pretty much means the dual core 1.2 GHz Scorpion. I'd rather have the Tegra 2 since I have a feeling that battery life is better but not much HTC can do. GPU is bundled with this but
More RAM - 1GB. Not needed really but why not future proof it? Plus the newer GPUs reserve much more RAM anyway.
More internal Storage - 4-8GB. No more worrying about app space.
Higher resolution - 4.3" display but only WVGA resolution? Why? qHD at least. Throw in a SLCD, OLED is nice but HTC could probably only get their hands on the old bum-ish ones.
Better front and back camera - I'll take a VGA FFC and 5-8 MP if it means iPhone 4 or better clarity. I'm not going to do a large print from my phone any time soon anyway.
Bigger battery - 1800+ mAh. The Atrix did it, why not a 4.3" phone?
Sprint ID - I'd rather want bone stock Android but that's not happening. Sprint ID is basically stock Android with a slightly modified launcher. Throw Launcher Pro or any other Launcher and you're pretty close to or right at stock.
An smaller, more efficient WiMax radio. It exists so why not?
Hey all
Looking to change from iphone4. Had every iPhone since launch and am just bored of em now
Looking at android phone and the sgs2 caught my eye
However have seen a lot of negativity about it in here and elsewhere
So do you think it's a good move or should I hang on for the HTC sensation (which sounds brilliant)
iPhone user here.
Apps are far better on iOS. You wont find some apps on Android that are on iOS. Thats my only dislike about Android but thats down to the developer. Im missing loads of apps, first direct, sky sports, bbc and so on. You can use the brower for all these wit Flash though
The SGS2 is by far the best Android phone. If your truely bored of iOS then get this, its worth it.

Loads on negativity about IPhone all over the net .
Point is that this forum is new and not yet representative of a large number of users .
Personally i thought the SGS 1 was as good as the IPhone 4 though some users preferred the HTc interface but i did not .
You really got to try them and read the reviews on al the phones .

Hello
I got bored too
I have just done the swap to a SGS2 from a iphone 4(well still have it)
Before the ip4 I was a long time winmo user
there are good and bad points to both phones
ios is slick on ip4 and does its job well...but also so limiting even with jailbreak
I f you love tweaking then get a droid phone thats why I have now bought 1
as for the negatives how many did the ip4 have @ the start
Tbh I think the ui on sgs is poor
Much prefer HTC sense (have messed about with mates)

Got the HTC desire for a while, and now I've got a SGS2, and I really prefer TouchWiz 4.0 over HTC sense. TouchWiz is really good on this phone. HTC Sense, never really liked it.
I've just received my Galaxy S2 today, a bit of an act of faith after the first one, which was IMO at first a very flawed device (a little digging and you can find my previous postings about this).
I've just come from an iPhone 4 myself, via an HTC Incredible S, so I think I can comment on here. To me, the Samsung clearly takes design cues from the iphone, in the design of the icons, the central home button and even the design and some of the features (like the screen shot - home + power)... to me, the SGS2 is like a bastard child of the best android phone and the iphone mixed into one....
IMO this is a good thing. I was bored silly with the iphone, and was sick of how restricted it was, even when Jailbreaked. The iphone 4 is a very nice phone for sure, but really boring to use in the long term (although some like it, and I can see why).
With the SGS2 you get a similar UI, but you also get androids superior functions as well (widgets, live wallpaper, notifications, google integration etc).
As for the SGS2 versus Sense, well TBH I was going to wait for the Sensation, and in the meantime, I made a profit from selling my ip4 and swapping for an Incredible S, and I did so so that I could get a taste of Sense UI. Now, I will say that Sense UI is quite nice, but if I'm being totally honest here, the only things I feel I will miss all that much are the weather and clock widget on Sense and the facebook integration. I do quite like the design of the interface on Sense... and obviously the Sensation is going to have a lot more eye candy again...
Having said all that, there are some things I am not so keen on with Sense. For example, it can at times feel a little "clunky" in places, I am not a fan of the keyboard (I know this can be changed) what with the arrow buttons underneath (not needed IMO), and I just got a feeling that it was slowing the phone down slightly.
Now, when I got the SGS2 I did feel as though I'd probably just dump TWLauncher straight away, but you know what, I think Samsung have really done quite a good job with TW4 to the point where I'm honestly not sure that I can say I prefer Sense any longer. It feels lighter and less bloated, it has some nice touches (task manager, power toggles in the notification, resizing widgets, deleting screens (which you STILL can't do in Sense), folders in the App drawer and so on). Now I'm still not a huge fan of some of the included widgets (but the new calendar widget is superb IMO), and I don't think I'll use the hubs much.
I'm not actually sure whether the Sensation will be able to compete in pure speed and performance terms with the SGS2 which frankly seems to go like a rocket. In fact, the SGS2 seems to fix much of what was wrong with the first phone. I really like it.... BUT... I haven't tested the GPS, yet!
As for the iphone 4 versus the SGS2, once you get over the fact the apps quality isn't quite up there (especially games), you won't look back. Although the iphone 4 feels and looks a more premium product, the Samsung is actually a nicer thing to handle, feels more comfortable in the hand... but other than that, seriously, there seems to be no competition here really, the SGS2 is MUCH better than the iphone 4 really... better camera, MUCH faster, far bigger screen (trust me the iphone 4 looks REALLY tiny compared) and far less restricted.
If this phone lives up to its early promise then I can tell you now that this is one fine phone, and Samsung may have finally delivered the kind of phone everyone knew they could if they put their mind to it... but time will tell

It's really a matter of taste, if you want a perfect Sense experience, then buying this phone wouldn't be a good choice I think
I've never really have experience on Sense (people around me use either iPhone 4 or BB!), but this Touchwiz isn't that bad except for one, no alphabetical sort in grid view on the apps drawer
I've been an iPhone user for 3 years and gone from the 3g to 3gs to the iPhone 4. I have also been an Android user for 1 year, I started with the Desire and upgraded to the SGS1. Despite liking Android a lot, I couldn't really make the switch to being a full time Android user. Mainly becasue I have bought a bunch of really specialized (medical) expensive apps on the iPhone. I dont't mind the iPhone having certain limitations as I have learnt to work around them. Also by also having an Android phone with me, they don't matter.
Like you I have grown tired of the iOS UI, especially the infamous Pop Up Notifications. As a geek I really like Android, trying out custom ROMs, not having any limitations in terms of what apps to install and being able to open web sites with flash are all part of the joy...
Currently I have sold my SGS1 and am waiting for the SGS2 to become available in Slovenia. I dont't think it will full replace my iPhone 4, but it seems it will at least keep me from buying an iPhone 5. A feat Desire couldn't manage to do!
As for the HTC vs Samsung debate. Sense is widely considered the premium Android experience, which I think it also is. But HTC is still using sub par components in its phones: the awful tiny speaker, the bad camera sensor and the worst mics for audio recording. It is for these reasons I won't be buying the Sensation but the SGS2.
Me i prefer Touchwiz and dont like sense .

I'd probably pick Touchwiz over Sense too, also the first SGS imo was as good as the iPhone 4. SGSII is just so gooood....

Gotta disagree with you there mate
Mate has a galaxy s and it's not a patch on iphone4 I'm afraid
I'm not a fan of TW or Sense, I find them both to be very simple almost condesending, like they were built for kids or blind people to use. You cannot change the screen density with them so you have to stick with 240 which I personally dont find appealing.
I much prefer a stock android framework with ADW Ex.
I am really looking forward to some custom ROM's comming out for the SGS2.
I was a WinMo user right from 1.0 to 6.5 and loved every minute of it. After my HD2 I took a jump and tried out Android, and now I'm hooked! WP7 does look very nice, but it needs to be more open before I switch to it.
I have never owned an iphone. I had a gen1 ipod touch and couldn't stand Itunes so this put me off apple for good, plus I don't like their business model.

It's just personal opinion, my mate has a SGS and I have to say without the bugs it had I would easily choose it over the iP4 in terms of software that is, can't stand the way the SGS looks.

First post here so go easy guys -.-
Though coming from webOS 2 on the Pre 2, then to iPhone 4 with iOS 4, and now to SGSII I'd like to think I've experience the best of Mobile UI's.
And Like you, I was bored on iPhone4, the grid of Icons just didnt cut it out for me and seemed something more akin to fisher price, Loved webOS, though the sub-part hardware and lack of Apps killed it for me.
For me the SGSII is the best of both worlds, the screen is absolutely fantastic and has to be seen to believe, the Applications arent quite iPhone but nonetheless are excellent and I have found a suitable replacement for 95% of the ones I use.
I'm also picky when It comes to butter smooth UI's, and Samsung with the implementation of Touchwiz 4 has nailed It, I'm not sure about other Android phones (This being my first) but Samsung has definately implemented GPU Acceleration into the UI, and It's butter smooth, everywhere, browsing and all, It's what really sold this device to me.
I actually hate Sense, It just looks fugly in my opinion, but to each their own, I applaud Samsung, they've done a good job on Touchwiz, I wanted iPhone style Grid Icons and not the standard App Drawer so It was perfect for me, You'll feel right at home as well with the addition of folders, pages etc
My only real Gripes are the fact It's a tad on the big side, though I have small hands and that It's a dust magnet, either that or I'm OCD which I probably am (I wipe the **** out of my screens, make sure they're speckle free ^^)
SAMOLED Plus, 1.2 GHz Blazing fast Exynos CPU, Quad Core Mali GPU, 1080p Recording, 8MP Back 2MP Front, Gingerbread with Butter Smooth Awesome UI & Customization and It's not hard to see why It's possibly the best phone yet.

Anytime, and trust me you owe It to yourself
There's quite a few Customizations I've made to the Lock and Home Screen If you don't prefer the actual stock widgets so bear that in Mind, It looks pretty awesome now, mate which still has an iPhone was pretty impressed considering.
Not forgetting there's also the HSPA+ radio, In some areas (And depending on network) expect 4MB+ easily, It's also the thinnest smartphone in Class though using a case makes It to normal thin Slab size, I can't really fault It, the only niggle Is battery Life but then again I've been using it 24/7 and I'm yet to properly cycle the battery though early reports suggest you'll easily get a day's worth.
One of the very big plus points for some users but not all users is the ability to customize Android .You do not have to stick with the defaults themes roms kernels etc etc as you like .

just look how fluid the UI is!! it doesnt lag with live walpapers (like ours still do with GB.) and the transitions are amazing, for flipping side by side on homescreen, etc.
anyways i see no lag. unlike our poopy phones at the moment lol, until we get more ROMs (its sad that we our $700 phones have to depend on custom ROMs.)
except at 2:47 where there is the bug haha it looks so annoying, id rather have it then a laggy os though. i hope to bring it to our phones.. hopefully it isnt limited to the "droid" line, like it seems. someone shall port it though, which is a hassle.
Geez. Was the atrix $699 when it first came out? Talk about seriously overpriced. It might've been worth it if the bootloader was unlockable from the get go. The atrix can be had ~$400 new off contract if you look around, and about $300 used most places. It is a great value now.
I voided my warranty.

haha i just used my upgrade since i had one. =] only $50 for a refurb. {that was in june}
I wouldn't have wasted a n upgrade on a phone like the atrix, especially a return. The resale value of an iphone 4 is low right now because the 5 is coming soon, but you could've flipped a i4 and got an atrix and put some money in your pocket or got an sgs2 for a little over $300 out of pocket.
I voided my warranty.
I don't care if the Nexus Prime cost me $1000, that ***** is mine opening day!

i was telling myself the same thing until i heard it will be bigger than the dell streak, have fun holding a tablet to your ear xD (brick) haha, im not big on bluetooth headsets either since it makes you look like a crazy person talking to yourself lol. ill wait till google uses good ol' motorola to make a nexus! bet that'll be the ****. or HTC brings some 720p screens, who knows.
Find this thread funny because "even with Gingerbread".... i don't really notice that much lag even with a live wallpaper. I mean... what.... if you're complaining that it takes a fraction of a second to switch home screens on the Bionic and a negligibly larger fraction of a second to switch on the Atrix... you need to straighten out your priorities.
While i will admit that i like the idea of using inductive charging right off the bat... the "Cool Down" mode kinda freaks me out.
the major bullet points, the ones i found every where after a quick google, the ones that actually sell the phone practically match the atrix.. dual core 1 ghz, 1gb ram, qhd, 4g lte, 16gb internal memory. coming from an atrix this doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. what's the big deal?

the lag when using a lwp that isnt a movable picture is un-usable. like on the nexus one it is usable because the background stays still, but on the forest one the background moves when you move the screen, which makes it VERY un-usable. especially for the atrix, my old mytouch 4g didnt even lag using those, which is very sad. i dont get why it would lag on our phones, i thought they would have fixed the problem in GB since SO many people complained about it. it makes it look like my old G1s homescreen, lol. i was just saying its sad that we have to rely on custom ROMs, and other homes like adw and go launcher to make it none laggy. i personally hate having more than one launcher on my phone cause it just bloats it up, i like to stick to my stock on unless its un-usable which the stock one becomes..
im just glad to know its not our hardware. barely lag when using ADW EX

been using Nexus Revamped Pro on pretty much max settings you can put it on with little to no lag (maybe a micro second of stutter here and there) on stock, CM7, Alien, and Ninja Speed Freak. Not quite sure what everyone else is doing to get this lag issue, but from my personal experience it doesn't exist. just giving you my two cents.
