Mock locations setting? Menu>Settings>Applications>Development>Allow Mock Locations.
I speculated that this is the reason why At Bat doesnt support video streaming for this simple reason. Not sure how mock locations works and what it does, Or even the fact that it means what it means. But give it a shot
Tried..we need some app..or spoof locator
im sure its simple but the demand isnt high enough
came across this story on drudge who linked to fox today (to those of you with your heads up obama / cnn's butts, drudge is a news site not an opinion site, and no i dont like fox either) .....http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/04/21/apple-google-receive-phone-users-locations/
anyway, is there a way to disable google's ability to gather your info etc? does running a custom rom negate that ability? if it is disabled do apps still work?
I am starting to really miss my tp2 with all the custom cab files etc and not being forced to the "market" like an iphone.
Google asks if you want to allow it to collect info. What you can't stop is your carrier collecting your location based on what towers you are connected to.

and google is the only that will allow you to see that info for free
will it stop apps from running? I understand that it is all done with tower triangulation so its not like "they" can track you to a certain house but i am of the school of thought that the less "they" know about me the better. if i turn off google gathering then the apps will probably stop running as well eh?
Everything works fine if you do. Just no location of any type for your apps.

This is my first time having an NFC device, so please bear with me. I rooted my phone the evening I received it. Now I'm trying to set up Google Wallet, and it says that my device is unsupported. In the help topic regarding this message, it mentions something about rooted devices being unsupported due to security reasons, can I still use this feature? Is it discouraged in any way?
If anybody has some insight or experience with this, I'd like to know.
I have the evo lte rooted with same unsupported device message, yes it will still work

The reason it is discouraged is because anyone (with the now-how) can brute-force access your pin if your phone is rooted. And then skip away making payments on goodies.
What would be the chances of someone getting that close to you, they would have to be pretty much hugging you

Well seems about as secure as having somebody run off with your actual wallet... So off-topic but where are the places where I can actually use Google Wallet >_>

Any place that has tap-to-pay or pay-pass features (forgot what the actual name is). I've seen it at McDonald's, CVS/Walgreens, Best Buy, and a few other large chains around town.

Plenty of you fly to Japan and China, they have been using it for years. You can try looking up PayPass mechant, such as this link: http://www.google.com/wallet/how-it-works/in-store.html
So it doesn't have to be specifically for google wallet? They work on the things like the speedpass at speedway or your creditcard where you just tap it to the machine and it gets your infO?

Awesome! Looking forward to trying this out in the next few weeks. Hope I remember to try it when I see it...
I tried to use this at Walgreens today. They had the translucent blue PayPass terminal. I sat there for about 30 seconds and nothing happened. I even tried to enter the app and still nothing. NFC was on, and my card is attached in Google Wallet.
I think I set up wallet, then unlocked and rooted, then had to re-set up Wallet. Am I doing something wrong? The clerk was staring at me like I was crazy, just holding my phone next to the terminal....

I had that happen at Taco Bueno. And a McDonalds. But at some McDonalds it works. I think that so few people use this system that when its broken no one complains. And its probably never even tested when they set it up.
Typically you can just tap your phone to the thing (no need to be in the app). It'll prompt you for a PIN. Then you can pay.
If it's not working you may have a poor data connection? I think it requires data to work.

Can't upload photospheres either if you're rooted

I'd still say it's more secure than that. Anyone can swipe a card and charge it as credit. Relatively few people would know how to brute force hack google wallet on a rooted device.
Everyone.
Google wallet does not require a data connection.
If its not working , I read on the wallet website to "hold it about an inch" from the terminal. Without placing it on the terminal. Try to see if that works.

Yeah mine didn't work at the gas station the other day, though I didn't log out of Google Wallet before I flashed a rom and rooted recently so some say that it'll never work again after that because of the secure element getting locked or something like that. Hopefully that's not true.
I've flashed and reflashed a lot. All you need to do is delete the data, connect to high speed internet like WiFi, then open it up. Worked for me.

Hello All,
Can anybody tell me if there is a way to get a "Verizon Only" app, called Indycar 13, to run on our N4?
As a motor racing fan, I would love to be able to run this app while watching the races, but of course the Play Store says its not compatible.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS52encuaW5keWNhciJd
Is it really not able to run on our phones? Or is it simply a matter of getting it into our phone.
Thanks for any help.

Why dont u try Market Faker application. You can fake your carrier , if u r desperate about using this app
I'm no expert so please this is just spit balling, but I think market hacker will only allow him to download the app, same as if he simply side loaded the .apk from somewhere. Once in the app it will "detect" for my lack of technical terms, for a Verizon Sig of some sort and and to register it to a corresponding number. I remember way back when warez sites were really out in the open, somebody posting hacked versions of vzw NFL app, where you could watch the red zone channel on Sunday or NFL network any other time...and it would work for a week or two but then vzw would notice the same # being registered hundreds of times and **** it down....I assume this would be similar.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
1) Hopefully the hacked app maker was nice enough to include a function to change the fake Verizon #.
2) Find a friend with a Verizon # and use that #.
3) Profit!
I don't think it works that way...pretty sure the app has to be edited with working numbers and what not.

I saw all the other threads about how everyone says that it doesn't store our ccs or passwords but how are we 100% sure?
I take precaution with everything I do on my phone since everything nowadays is so easily stolen. I know its the top app in the play store but still.
Is there anyway to take more precautions?
I downloaded DroidWall to stop this app from accessing the internet over 3g or wifi. Is there anything else I could do? For all we know the company stored our info and then sells the company to someone else and that other person uses our stuff in bad ways.
Blocking it from the Internet should do the trick. Your best bet is to decompile the APK and see exactly what it does. I'm sure somebody has done that already though.
