Hi, what are the best (fully working and bug free) barcode reader for 2D/DataMatrix/EAN/QR barcode?
I've tryed QuickMark, but does not work well with HD2, i-nigma is very cute and works good, but read only DataMatrix and QR.

I'll second this - I installed Quickmark on my HD2 yesterday, and scanned a bunch of QR codes from Firefox. Worked every time. Register at their site and download the version for the HD2. If you've done this, describe your problem in more detail.
Ok, I've downloaded new version of QuickMark, and now all working good.

Yeah, it's great. When you're holding a 1KG bag of flour in one hand and a £500 phone in the other which is connected to several billion pounds worth of internets .. you point the barcode reader at the bag of flour and the barcode software connects to said several billion pounds worth of internets and the software tells you that you are, in fact, holding a 1kg bag of flour in the other hand
I downloaded Quickmark, it reads the barcodes ok, but won't let me do anything with them, it just says that this feature is available for the advanced edition only.

Since the phone is 2mpix, you're probably better off holding it far away and using the digital zoom to enlarge the area to scan. If the lens can focus, 2mpix is more than enough to zoom in on just the card before losing clarity.
The i-nigma should work on your Mogul

Hi dragon_76
I'm part of the developing group of 3GVision, who develop the i-nigma. On Sep 07 the i-nigma application didn't work on windows Mobile 6 devices. From Oct 07, we started support WM6. Please go to www.i-nigma.com and install the new version, it should work now. Please feel free to email me impression.
Thanks
Eran
No need to snap with the i-nigma
The i-nigma work as scanner, there is no need to snap anything, just put the barcode in front of the camera and it will scanned automatically
i installed i-nigma on my wm6 t-mobile vario II.
It works fine, but the camera is flipped making it difficult to aim, (ie left is right and right is left, when in landscape. In portrait the image is upside down and up is down and down is up)
Anyone got this? and also, is there anythnig else on the site, all i get is the install link (when browsing via pda, work blocks the site via pc) could do with a help section, or FAQ.
Regards

What he said, I've had it on my phone for well over a month and it works fine without any problems. You don't have to take a picture of anything, it read the bar code as soon as it is in view.
It's a version issue. I had 1.26 installed, from my 6700 switch, but it was always buggy, often needing multiple soft resets, so installed v1.40, but have the same issue as the first post.
yup, 1.26 works on my mogul 2.17rom.

I Installed I-nigma on my mogul. Interesting program, nice to have. scans and decodes really quick. however i had the same "backward" issue. But u can fix it by editing the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\3GVisionInigma\i-nigma\option
"PreviewDirection_31" = 0
change 0 to 2
it will fix the backwards camera. However it won't fix the landscape issue cuz the program wasn't design to operate in landscape mode, the camera preview won't rotate.
It's really worth keeping now.

i wouldn't second this. adding a contact with quickmark resulted in a "," behind the name and a "h" behind the number.
i-nigma does add the contact on a right way.

What's best for YOU is not necessarily what anyone else even WANTS. Can you articulate your needs, or are you just looking for a reader that works with your phone?
If it's the former, then someone might have a recommendation for you. If it's the latter, go use Google.
These are some of the add on cabs posted in the WM6 board. There is the adobe reader cab in the first post
Good luck

I like foxit reader out of all the readers. Has zoom and touch capabilities like opera mini. You might want to look into that.

Why go thru the trouble of telling people to search first, when some bone head will turn right around and post what they're asking for. Let's all be on the same page, and play as a team!!!

I agree with you on the Foxit reader. I disabled the executable command for ClearVue which is worthless and have the Foxit reader as default.
My friend just got one of those G1's the phone itself is mildly impressive (not as much as the mogul imho) and Android is pretty cool. But he has this app that allows you to scan barcodes using the build in camera and it tells prices for that item at like 30 different stores. I was wondering if there is anything like that for WinMO that works on 6.1 for the titan 6800?
Give this one a try
http://fastpricecheck.com/
oops, just noticed i cant check via photo of code....
and the above app does show google ads as well as results. oh well.
Cool program. Just installed and does not seem that you can use the camera. can enter the upc or enter description of product you are looking for. can use without setting up account.

you need good lighting and focus from the camera. It works well for me on my tilt 2.
mobile tag doesn't work consistently for me. so I wouldn't think its much of any use. I have a tilt 2.
has anyone tried Barcorama on the tilt2?
i give mobiletag a 3.0
i have a Tilt2 (TouchPro2/Rhodium)
I tried it on various items in the kitchen....only was able to get a good read on a can of black pepper...
it doesn't seem to work well with the camera device... poor focus ability
The camera on the Tilt2 is a good one so I do not think the poor performance of this app is due to the hardware.....I'm leaning towards the software's use of the hardware....
but whattaya expect for free, right??
imho
camera
The camera is good on the tp2. the problem is usually the back cover has a little cheap piece of plastic take off the back cover and try it. than try cleaning the dust off the plastic lens.
i use i-nigma....so i have the best results with it....its free too, just do a quick search on google, youll find it
+1 for i-nigma

wouldnt read any barcodes but manual # entry did find many products.
I look vor a Baorcode Reader too.
But i need a reader with my own Database.
Forbidden Error
I have HTC Tilt2 with mobiletag. Mobiletag reads the barcode and trys to open the link but no matter if I use IE or Opera10 I get this error.
Anyone? Angelica
Solution to getting it to use the HTC TP2/TILT 2 camera PERFECTLY:
Do NOT select HTC TOUCH PRO 2 as the device. Select TOUCH HD 2 as the device.
Instead of just showing the out of focus/ugly camera view that you had when the TP2 selected, you'll get a screen that says "Click here to start scanning. (Then shoot the barcode by placing it in the middle of the screen.)"
Once you do that the TP2/TILT2 camera software takes over. Get it focused and take the picture like normal (only in portrait mode though). It immediately grabbed the bar code and returned results.
If you selected TP2 and checked "remember this device" the only way I found to un-remember is to uninstall and reinstall. I didn't check the remember box and tried TP2, TP, HD and HD2 and the HD2 was the winner

It works great for me except for 1 thing......it's only brought up the correct item once. LOL!
I have tried them all and mobiletag i think is the best
how about one where you can change the destination of the output data so i can port that info into a database app or webform? Would make inventory snazzy at work if i could use my phone i know motorola has an app on there EDA devices but thats enterprise level stuff.
Hey guys,
I don't know if this has been tried or thought of. My mouse just died, and am waiting for it to charge, and I thought, hmm, it would be great if I could use my HD2 touch screen as a giant trackpad for my PC. The idea would be that you connect your HD2 to the computer via bluetooth or usb, and then launch this trackpad app which would really just give you a screen like what I have attached and then you have a trackpad! I know the app will be pretty useless for most cases, but it could be a cool replacement for some people.
Just a thought...

No problem, Gremote , there is a older free version, works over wifi, and bluetooth, very nice fun to play with ...

Be sure to google it and find the home page, there are some cabs floating around but they only have the phone part not the part that needs to run on the PC ...
