Is it possible to add a Cellular Network Band?

My HD2 is compatible with the Network Bands:
HSPA/WCDMA/UMTS: 900/2100 MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
My Mobile Operator works only on:HSPA/WCDMA/UMTS: 850/2100 MHz with no GSM bands. The HSPA/WCDMA/UMTS 850 MHz has a better cover and is missing in my HD2. So I'm left only with the weak HSPA/WCDMA/UMTS 2100 MHz, wich sometimes is not enough.
There is any way to add the possibility to work also on the HSPA/WCDMA/UMTS 850 MHz?
I heard than there is a version of the HD2 in Telstra company in Australia which includes the HSPA/WCDMA/UMTS 850 and 2100.

No, you must buy the Telstra version if you want 850. Sorry for the bad news.

Yes, the only way to add a band is to buy a new phone, at least in this case.

Lost my HD2 -TMOUS will it work in the UK?

Hi guys, I may get shot down for this, if I do I deserve it!
I just lost my beloved HD2 in London, I have insurance luckily, but I wanted to know if the TMOUS version of the HD2 would work in the UK.
Has anyone tried it yet?
My fiancee is the US right now, and I'm tempted to get one if its possible, but only if it will work over here in the UK.
Really sorry if this has been posted/answered before, but I'm really distraught and my searches weren't bringing up anything solid.

I think it just won't, it's hardcoded to work with US carriers, won't work with EU ones, that's what I've read more than once in several posts

I think the radios are coded to a particular frequency range in the hardware which is different to most other providers.

Here is a very general outline of common frequencies:
Voice and GPRS (EDGE)- 900 and 1800 in most of the world outside NA, 850 and 1900 in NA
3G Data- 2100 in Europe and Asia, 1900 in NA, 1700 for TMo USA
T-Mobile
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA/HSPA: 1700 MHz (AWS) / 2100 MHz
European
HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Not sure if this helps, but 3G and the radios may
be a problem.
I travel internationally a great deal and so I never buy US phones.
I don't care about 3G when in the states. I want it when traveling.
I am with AT&T and their 3G doesn't work overseas.

As far as I know, excluding the US carrier specific variants, the unlocked HTC Ones comes in either a HSPA+ 850/900/1900/2100 MHz variant, or an HSPA + LTE 1800 (only) variant.

Is that from HTC's official website? the specs on its UK page don't have LTE at all listed for the unlocked device.
Mobicity's the only one at present selling an unbranded/unlocked LTE enabled variant:
Network Band: 4G/LTE 1800, GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850, 3G 900, 3G 1900, 3G 2100
So yeah, it's all a bit confusing at the moment. Damn expensive at mobicity, i must say.

Clove have listed it's HTC One as supporting LTE 800/1800/2600.

It seems it could come in more LTE variants.

what upsets me is that there's no unifying LTE handset... I don't want an american version from AT&T... I want an unlocked version that does away with the carrier garbage...

not sure about lte since they changed the ittle

I sorry i live in Dubai so we just got lte with 1800-2600 frequency.so does this phone have a different 3g variant and 4g or is there a phone with both in it. Sorry don't know much about networks.

Well qualcomm is releasing a new chip later this year that solves that problem.

On one hand, I'm glad HTC acknowledged this and I've have been put out of my misery. On the other, I want to do a facepalm at HTC.
I understand how 850MHz testing of the European model could have been deprioritised. And I still believe HTC should be supported for coming out with a great phone at a time of trouble (possibly as many articles on their profit report as phone reviews!), but boy are they making it hard for themselves. They are not a new company. What's different about this phone vs the other internationally available in different variants phones they've released?
I have a quiet chuckle every so often about the saga of getting this phone. Excitement, delay, delay, worry about 850MHz support, dispatch!, oh what it won't work?!?, return, wait for local launch, to be continued...

You wouldn't happen to know what type of NFC it has?
Looked at GSM arena, no where does it go in to any depth on the NFC...

I'm in the same position here, buggered cos i was so excited. Plus only being able to realise this in the last day or so, now i'm probably now at the end of a very long wait list on the Harvey Norman preorders.

The HTC Unlocked from the US site has the following information:

Yes you are correct!
Other thank the UK variant not having 850mhz HSDPA frequency all bands from 2g to HSPA should be compatible worldwide.

It has the NXP PN544 chip with its usual level of support it seems. Unlike the S4, it should therefore support Mifare tags without issues.

HTC One S - No 1900MHz support?

Hi everyone,
I'm planning on purchasing the HTC One S, I've been comparing some of the specs on the handset with other phones around the same price range and under the Network section, I can see that majority of phones have 1900MHz support under the 3G section or HSPA/WCDMA (Europe), the HTC One S does not.
I'm based in London, UK. Will I have any problems, how will this effect me? Does this mean the 3G network signal will be weaker than other phones?
