Hello,
As of this moment i'm a proud nexus one owner!!
And i was wondering if its possible to enable paid apps in the android market since i live in kuwait and not in the US or UK.
Please help
Have you looked at marketenabler or MarketSpoof?
Just to throw out one data point: Modaco ROM 1.3 + MarketEnabler_3.0.4 works.

hey...so i got my rogers magic monday, unlocked it, set up [email protected] apn and using it for a few days before hacking. i have been to android market several times and i see paid apps available to buy. my phone is yet to rooted. what gives? i expected to only see free apps since my rom is a rogers build. is the paid apps restricted to rogers magic if on rogers network only? or am i only seeing limited paid apps?
@spatali
sorry,i downloaded it and then mounted it on my phone.
yet i cant see the paid applications......
kindly help
Anyone know why paid apps on Andriod Market are locked on Optus..??
My contract is up with them end of this month, thinking about jumping over to Vodafone..
Is there anyway to bypass this lock out?
optus block it so people are forced to use their own crappy market.
use market enabler if your phone is rooted, or put another carrier sim card in to download the paid apps..
there is a huge thread about it on whirlpool
I was using Market Spoof, I found it more convenient, just click the widget on or off when you want to use the apps store. I got fed up with optus and changed to vodafone mainly because of this.
I am in Kuwait and not able to get to the paid apps either.. Where do i download this market spoof or market enabler from?? Thanks!

How to get this on my N1?
Do I access this link via the browser, or do I need to have paid access to the Android Marketplace?
I tried via the browser but it comes up saying the website is temporarily down.....
Help!
Just got a Galaxy Tab for work, boss isn't too happy after paying for it that I can't download anything from the market.
I'v tried everything on the forums, it's just been switched on new, no sim card, connected to the Wifi, can't get anything off the market (I'm using my GAFYD account).
Any help with suggestions on a quick fixed would be sincerely appreciated.
thanks guys.
Hi
Got mine off contract from PC World.
Market Place worked beautifully with no SIM in.
There are some oddities with some apps like Music Hub that insist on mobile data connection, but I don't think Market Place is one of them.
Can you see market place .. and select apps to download .... and it's just the install that fails ?
Which apps ?
I had a similar issue with some apps (not all) and my HD2 running 2.2 ... but not with the Tab so far.
Paul.

Mines from PCWorld also,
I did two things, one of which has now fixed it:
First I did a factory reset from the settings menu, and second, I set up up this time wit ha straight up google account and not my "Google Apps for your Domain" address.
Don't know which solved it but it's fine now.
FYI: The error was the standard "Installation of ...... was unsuccessful" when selecting any app from the market.

FYI I use a Google Apps for Domains account and I did not have an issue, so I don't think that was your problem.

Dave
Thanks

Thanks for the tip.
Can't believe how nice this thing is. I used android since g1 and I have a hero and desire, but this is a whole new experience!
Darn it. Im in South Africa, and just received my xoom wifi. and find out that we dont have access to paid apps, and because there is no carrier associated with the wifi xoom, i cant even spoof a US carrier with market enabler.
i figured that it must have something to do with the fact that my IP address indicates im in South Africa.
so i need help in Spoofing my IP address.
i have found an app which i havent tested that can make android connect through a proxy. i just need a proxy....
hope it works
hi,
I have the same problem. Can you tell me what is the app you mentioned?
What about Amazon app store?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
the app is called proxy settings
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.credil.proxysettings&feature=search_result
I managed to get the proxies working as per this list http://hidemyass.com/proxy-list/search-278
I can now see paid apps but can't download apps even the free ones. I guess its the choice of proxy. I need a fairly robust one.
Hi, i live in Costa Rica and had the same problems with the market, this tip someone posted on amazon worked for the free apps , paid apps are still a problem.
"TURN OFF WEBSITE LOCATION
For those of us who are in another country or in a US Territory. Certain apps (in fact the majority of them) in the Android market will not allow you to download. You get a message such as "Cannot be donwloaded due to carrier" or something to that affect. What you have to do is go into the browser and in the right corner click the internet icon (looks like a piece of paper). Select internet settings and look for location settings. TURN LOCATION OFF. That is all you have to do. Then go back into the App store and begin your download. You can also do this for google books so it will work."
Hope it helps....
wish it had worked for me. I removed all location services in the browser and the system and it still magically found me to be in south africa.
Guess its back to finding a robust proxy
I was able to buy and then install the tablet keyboard on my xoom..
First I bought it on my nexus s using market enabler as paid apps are not available where I live. Then on the xoom and using a VPN connection in US I was able too see my purchased apps and downloading any of them.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
which VPN service are you using. it seems its the only way i guess.
Part Solution
OK, so I managed to use Market access a market enabler clone...
http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/android/marketaccess
i still cant see the tablet optimised apps, but i can at least see all the apps ive purchased before. so its a step in the right direction.
it goes without saying that i had to root my device...

I've been using Banana VPN for a while on my PC and they are excellent. You can look at other options too as you can find cheaper alternatives.
Could the GPS not be betraying us?
It's bloody accurate. It shows me in the yard and even which direction I am facing.
solution
So market enabler worked. U can download paid apps but they will not be listed in the market and you will have to search for them.
At least it works
But did u root it to use market enabler?
Sent from my Milestone using Tapatalk
yes you have to root it. though rooting with tiamat sd card hack gave me major market install issues..... so i had to root and remove the tiamat kernel
And how did u do that?
U can replace the kernel after rooting with no problem at all?
The Tiamat kernel is not needed to root =O?
What I did to get paid apps onto my unrooted Wifi Xoom, was to use MarketEnabler to download them to my rooted phone, then use Titanium Backup to extract the apk, and then transferred the apk to my Xoom, and then some guy named Bob called me claiming to be my uncle.

I find that once I purchase an App with my MarketEnabled phone, I can find and download it on my Xoom directly
edit:
Then again I'm using a Verizon 3G Xoom but outside of the US, that may be why
Hey people,
For those of you who do not reside in the US and and want an 'unrestricted' Market, go download MarketEnabler! Your device has to be rooted though...
Tried it (the free version) and worked for me. Paid for the ad-free version after that too, to support the developer.
1. Download MarketEnabler
2. Clear Market cache (using App Cache Cleaner)
3. Open MarketEnabler (set operator to [us] T-Mobile)
4. Open Market and voila!
Downloaded all the Google apps that were usually unavailable to Singapore users! (Currents, Play Music, Play Books, Play Movies, TV Remote and Earth)
No more 3rd party apks for me!
Have fun!
i need a little help..
the method you mentioned didnt work for my tab..
precondition to work fine
1.root
2.superuser
3.busybox
all these are free and easy

There is an old trick which I'm not really sure if it works for new play store any more. First take your US SIM card to India, insert that SIM into your tablet while open app market with WIFI, and you still get the US market.
I used to use a dead Japan SIM card to access Japan market in Hong Kong for unroot android phone.
