Font Problems with CommManager and Cube

Hi U all !!
I have a really bad problem...
After using a custom font for phonealarm (a digital kind one ... for the clock) and copied it to "fonts" subdirectory... for any kind of reason now CommManager and one of the pages of the cube is now using that font ... But the really strange and anoying thing is that if i remove that font commmanager and cube keeps using an "inexistent" font ... and there is no way to restore as it was before ...
I read 2 solutions in this forum .... :
- Copying verdana font from win pc to WM font directory ... It does not work...
- Hard Reset ... But this is not a solution since after installing phonealarm with my custom skin it will happend the same again ...
Any idea please ??

This seems to be a bug in at WM. It's well known to the people who use rlToday.
If you move the font from the '\windows\font' folder to '\windows' it will fix the problem with the comm manager, but Cube will still be the same.
(You can't actually move them, you have to rename them, then delete them. Changes aren't effective until a soft reset.)
This problem also affects some of the fonts in the scrabble clone XWORDS.
It'd be great to find a fix for this.

Ty for the answer but as i said if i remove the font ... comm manager and cube KEEPS using it ... no matter if the font is in .../fonts or directly in /windows/ since even deleting it ... nothing changes ... it keeps using the font ... so i imagine this font is well cached eith "other name" in any unknown location ...
Any idea Please !?

Please since this is affecting many people why dont we descover a solution ?? would be great for for a lot of people ... and of course for me ...

Languge / Wallpaper Problem after installing "Dirty Paper"!

After hours of searching .. and trying nearly everything ... I'm Still facing some problems with the famous "Dirty Paper" Theme:
As the Theme was originally intended for the Diamond I have extracted the Graphics and copied them over by Hand (Total Commander). Also the the upgrade for Call Log, Calendar and Comm Manager worked just fine.
But ...
I didn't manage to make the Wallpaper valid for all Tabs
The Language was changed to "French" at the weather panel - this happened probably during the installation of the theme the first time over the config Tool (after that I have realised that it has the size of the Diamond Screen) - so I have restored the original (also over the TF3D Config Tool) ...
I allredy have installed the Icone Demarrer.cab und copied the shellres.192.dll.0c07.mui (German Austria - renamed), softresetted, ... but still - French
Any ideas what I could try next?

hi,
i have try the same theme and i had the same problems.
i think is caused by a different Manila vesion.
if you like the graphics, just copy the icon that you need and it will work fine.
i know is not a prefect solution, but at least you can have a new icon sets.

Huge Font Size When Reading SMS, but ok elsewhere

Hi Guys,
I was playing with my HD2 last night when I received SMS, I tapped it to view it but the font size became so large that the writing overlaps.
When I type SMS the font size is ok and when looking at emails the size is fine, its just when u tap an incoming sms the size goes huge, and adivice or help?
I tried searching the forum or htc website but cant seem to see anything..

Have you tried adjusting the font size? When viewing messages you can change the font size by clicking on Menu>Text Size.

I have the same problem.
When I go to the SMS menu (where you can switch between directories : incoming, sent, trash) : the font is huge.
Except this problem all other font sizes are OK.
I've tried to search in the registry, but no lukc.
I've tried to change the font size in the parameters, even a soft reset : no effect on this huge SMS font.
I can try to send a picture to show the problem.

On every other else apps, the fonts are OK...

It happened to me too lately, but reinstalling one of the SMS patches repaired it. Unfortunately, I can't remember, which one (07567 or 8007).
Pls. note that patches can be reinstalled only if you set the appropriate values under "HKLM\drivers\builtin\hotfix" to and earlier date. I set all of them to "20091119-00" before reinstall and it worked fine. Checking my registry afterwards shows that the value called "Messaging_Client_Version" is updated to "20100112-00" so you should run the patch that is related to that one.

I didn't know waht values to change in registry in order to be able to reinstall this patch.

I can't believe that no one has an answer on that issue..... i'm on rom 1.66 and i can't reload previous hotfix on sms, but can't find the path to HKLM/drivers/builtin/hotfix...
What should i do ??? how can i read my sms again ???

Do a hard reset, that should fix it.

Just did a hard reset to install the rom 1.66... and that caused the trouble... not sure it will help...

Well, I have the same problem, but have the 1.66 official ROM, and the 8007 patch won't install because it says the version is incompatible (the 1.66 ROM supposedly has all the previous patches included).
I tried searching the registry for the specified "HKLM\....\hotfix" key, and it's not there either.
So, any additional ideas to overcome this problem ?

Why is my phone doing this

Check out the attached screenshot of my messages screen. I updated my ROM to the HTC 1.66 and reinstalled all of my apps etc. But look at my messages. When I go to type one the text is of similar size and hard to read...barely fitting 2 words on one line. Can someone please help!!

There is a similar thread over on Themes and Apps. Did you restore a backup after updating your ROM? If so, the registry from your old ROM will have overwritten the registry from the new ROM. Hence your problem.
If this is the case, hard reset and reinstall cabs etc manually.

LockScreen is Manual! Help...

Hi All,
I had installed cookie tab 2 on hd mini with hd mini resolution patch and CHT editor .... it works fine but i was not satisfied and uninstalled it completely....
but after that my lockscreen is not automatically locking the screen after standby mode... it resumes from the last app or from main screen... lockscreen not appearing...[only working autometically when a passcode is enabled ]
Please Help!!!

hony some the garaphic software is not sutiable for hdmini remove that software and try another one

My lockscreen problem got fixed....

With resco registry editor,to get back HTCLockScreen just set:
"HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Enable=2.

it was already the same one! Not found any change in registry.... i replaced with the registry backup too
