I have an e shop at kingeshop. I bought this phone only to go on the web on my admin interface.
I tried on IE mobile and opera. Sometime it work, sometime not, it says i didn't write the good password or email or security code but i check and it's good.
With IE:
When it work i can go on the main page and when i want to go for example on the products page, IE goes to the connection page and i have to write again passwords and all... and i can't access the other pages.
with opera: i can view the other page but i can't modify products or delete products.
i bought the phone only to do that when i'm not at home.
anyone can tell me if there is a way to solve this problem?
up, am i in the right section for the post?
do i have to post it somewhere else?

For some reason, when using GPRS, going to hotmail, it takes me to msnmobile instead of the regular hotmail webpage despite using Opera.
Not only that, it doesn't take me to the mobile hotmail page, even after I log on.
Anybody knows a solution around it?
Tried searching for hotmail but nothing came up that provided me with the solution.
Actually Opera does not offer a user-configurable User-Agent to enable identification of Opera as IE6 so you are forced to mobile websites.
A work around which I did is as follows:-
1) Open your usual hotmail site on your windows xp computer.
2) When the site has fully opened the address bar on your windows xp web browser will look something like this (http://by20fd.bay20.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/hmhome? *******)
3) Copy and paste this entire address to a word document on your windows xp computer and save the word document.
4) Using active sync transfer this word document from your windows xp computer to your pocket pc and open with Word Mobile
5) Run Opera on your PPC and copy and paste the address from your word mobile document to the address bar in the opera window.
6) Press the go button and the website will display.
7 Now you can save the open website as one of your Favourites and this way you will not have to follow the entire procedure each time you want to go to the hotmail site.
It works for me and hope it does for you sas well.
Kind Regards
nope, still automatically redirects to mobile.msn.com
Really frustrating!
Okay go to the mobile MSN account as opera would take you. Then enter your username and password and log in. Also click the radio button for opera to remember both the username and password i.e. the uppermost radio button. Exit opera then retry the procedure in my above post.

try adding a new section to the opera.ini file in \Application Data\Opera :
[User Agent]
Spoof UserAgent ID=1
Full options are:
Opera = 1
Mozilla = 2
Internet Explorer = 3
Mozilla, no Opera mention = 4
Internet Explorer, no Opera mention = 5
Let me know

Thanks for the info
YES! It works. Changing the User Agent file does allow it to go to the regular hotmail webpage. Don't forget to soft reset.
FYI, I'm using the Opera 8.5 beta on my Qtek 9000.
Google.com still doesn't work on GPRS though. Works great when connected to PC via Activesync....just not through GPRS.
One other thing I need to mention also, after adding the User Agent to the ini file, the top bar where the address and all the icons are, have a background issue. The icons and the address bar all show up fine, but just the background is a little messed up. Nothing you can't live with.
Thanks again Aefelix.

Thx, will try that now...
I noticed something though, i normally use WAP over GPRS to browse, i tried it and it didn't work (copy hotmail link and paste it).
But then when i was hooked up via WIFI, it worked on PIE without changing any setting!
How could that be? :?
Jamps...
I've also noticed that when I use Wi-Fi, hotmail works just fine.
But please do try AeFelix's fix and see if it works for you too.
Hi Aefelix,
Tried modifying the Opera.ini by adding the User Agent section as advised.
Now it takes me to the regular hotmail login page and allows log in as well. But after log in none of the links such as Mail, Calendar, etc appear to work. So I cannot actually go beyond the page which appears after the log in is through.
Anybody else experienced this and any suggestions??
Kind Regards

i think you kinda need to describe how you would log in from a desktop pc for people to understand your problem as some just require a WEP/WPA key and off you go
kkayyyzz...
when connecting to the internet on a laptop, a log-in box pops up, for u to write in your username and password from the college,
i would write somethin like MidKent/roham n then input a password on a laptop.. but no pass box to pop up on a pda?..
Have you tried opera mini yet as a browser? Works for me out here.
You can get it here
mini.opera.com
Version 4 works fine on the Universal.
He might be talking about a domain login. How you login depends on certain variables and we need slighly more details.
I would download HTC Network program and start from there. WM6.1 Allows Domain logins as well.
I need some help on how to manage my sprint pcs account online using my mogul.

use the opera browser and under settings it has a section that says brodcast device as: and you can choose from mobile device or desktop, choose desktop. this is not free (24 USD) but has a free trial.
to download current version from opera go here:
http://www.opera.com/download/mobil...=/img/products/mobile/platform/865.gif&extra=
or you can download the beta version from (no settigns for desktop on new version):
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19533
(you may aslo want to download the cab files that pute PIE back as the default browser because when you install the beta it immediately makes opera the default browser, can be found here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=217486&postcount=135 )
hope this helps
Hi all,
I hope someone can help me with my problem. At the university if someone wants to use the wireless internet a login is required first. You have to open a browser windows, type the URL and before you can see the first page you have to enter your identifier and password. After that you can use the internet until you turn off your wifi. The next time you turn it on you have to login again. Sometimes I just want to check my mails and I don't want to wait until Opera Mobile loads and go to a page, login, close opera and check mails in Outlook. Is there a way to write some kind of script what I just have to run and after succesfully login it just closes itself? If it's not a difficult thing can someone write such a script or tell me how to do that? I have a KS20 with WM 6.5.
Thx,
István
I'm trying to login on Tesco.com and can't.
I load Tesco.com, but when I click 'Grocery' it comes up with 'The server failed to communicate. Try again later.' When I check on my desktop, it works fine.
The link it heads to is -
https://secure.tesco.com/register/?vstore=99&from=http://www.tesco.com/superstore/default.aspx
It sometimes also mentions something about a certificate not being valid.
Anyone know why it no longer will let me use it? A few weeks back I could
I'm on Modaco 1.6.
I'm back on my G1 but I see a "Security Warning, ...not from a trusted authority". Click "Continue". Then, "Data Connectivity Problem, The Server failed to communicate. Try again later."
same login problem on N1 stock firmware...
So it maybe looks like Tesco have done something to block us on mobiles?
Does anyone know of other https sites we can check?
in your browser URL type in "about:debug" without the quotation marks, and hit go... nothing will "happen" except when you go to the settings at the very bottom of the list you will have more options, most notable the "UAString" option. Click on that, change it to desktop, and you should be good to go. What this does, FYI, is tell the server that you are on a desktop instead of an android device.
I did that, still wont load the page for me
