When I try to change my Caller-ID setting for outgoing calls, I get this error message (translated from german):
"Warning: Can not change phone's band frequency. Please try again later"
If I set the band frequency manually to GSM and then try again it works, but when I try to change for example the "knocking" setting I also get the above error.
Any ideas?

Hi all
I've been told that in WM2003, it's possible to programmatically create a GPRS connection using the connection manager API while supressing the GPRS connection bubble.
This is exactly what I need to do, but I have not been able to find out how to do it - been trawling through the msdn site for hours! Does anyone know how to do this?
Cheers

Connecting suppressed... but not connection failed...
OK - well i've managed to suppress the connecting balloon now by using the priority CONNMGR_PRIORITY_HIPRIBKGND but I haven't managed to suppress the balloon which pops up if the connection fails...
Any ideas anyone?
You can set this from Settings -> Sounds -> Notifications. There is a CCheckbox for 'Display message on screen' for event 'Connection Established'. Therefore there must be a registry setting.
I think this is in the Registry under:
\HKCU\ControlPannel\Notification\{8ddf46e7-5ded-4750-9e58-afc6ce486d03}\Options
Options = 0, no popup.
Options = 8, do popup.
But this is not tested!!
Ben
Not quite
Unfortunately, while this may suppress the "Connected" pop up, it doesn't suppress the "Cannot Connect" pop-up!
Thanks for the idea tho!

can anyone advise if a resolution to this was ever found? (running ppc2003se)
Is there a way to configure my Qtek S200 so it can show the Operator Name?
I tried 3 differents methods... (batteryplugin, Reghack to show "wireless" information on today screen and O2 dll+reg hack)... it does not work... Operator Name is Always blank...
If I go into Phone setting, network tab... "current network" is blank...
So it seems that my phone is not able to read the network Name.
I have the latest Qtek rom (2.20...)
I tried with an older radio rom... always the same problem...
Is there a registry hack (or something like that) to show the network operator name?
I will respond to my own message...
The operator name is blank when I disable the Roaming Icon... if it's enabled, I see the operator name...
So is there a way to have the operator name without the roaming icon?!?
I am wondering if there is any way to send all incoming calls to voicemail when I am using PDAnet to get online. I know there is a PDAnet setting to "allow calls when connected" but even if I uncheck this, calls still come through and discconect my internet.
The reason I'm posting this here is because if something specific to PDAnet isn't available, or possible, is there anything that I can do to the phone to not have incoming calls disconnect my internet connection? I had a Motorola Q for a little while, and there is a "bug" that actually does this automatically (sends call to voicemail while on EVDO). It was a setting in the DEBUG menu, in the field test option, called DDTM, and it was by default on (I think), and so people had to change that to off (could be switched) to allow incoming calls. It was perfect for me though. Now, I think I tried looking for a DDTM setting in the mogul and I had found it a while back, but I dont think it did anything with regard to my situation. So my questions are:
Is there anything with PDAnet that I can do besides the setting I talked about? Registry or something...?
If nothing with PDAnet, then does anyone know how to change the DDTM setting on a mogul? I got into the DEBUG menu (##33284#) and I didnt find any DDTM setting there.
Besides the DDTM setting (since it hasn't worked for me in the past) is there any other method you guys can think of that will do what I want?
Thanks!!
Try going to phone settings > services > mode of operation > change from hybrid to EVDO only.

Click to collapse
Hmm, that does seem to work for my last option. But I cant receive any calls at all when in this mode, so I guess I would have to manually change this each time . Is there any way this entry can be automatically changed somehow with a script or a registry change?
How I dont see mode of operation under services list. This is all I have:
Location setting, Voice Privacy, Network Service, TTY Mode, and Time Sync
Found this on an old thread somewhere.
edit the registry to make that option appear in the services list. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHING\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
Change HiddenPreferenceMode from 1 to 0
I am on WM6 and the correct registry to change to make the "Mode of Operation" selection appear is: HiddenModeOperationPage (set value to 1 to hide, and 0 to show).

"Cannot connect with current connection setting. To change your connection setting, tap Settings." Is the message i get when i try to send an email from my MDA Pro; my provider is FIDO (Canada) and i've subscribed to an email package (it comes with txt subscription). Could anyone please help me set up my setting so I'd be able to send out emails from my device, or is this impossible unless i have a FIDO phone?
Thank you very much.
hi
has anyone been able to get location to work under Orange UK and if so can you please post setting
thanks jason
i believe you are talking about network auto location service
every network may have its own setting
goto phone settings >More >check box enable under Braordcast channels> settings will be active now> now select recieve channel list >Language English >click new and enter new channel 50
these settings work for telenor pakistan
you will recieve network messages in form of sms when ever phnoes picks signal from another tower ......
but this service gets annoying
so i keep it off
