I want to update my current WM6.1 professional to WM6.5!
I am very eager to work in WM6.5 environment.
After reading a tonnes of thread around at XDA I am even more confused.
And being a NEWBIE have added the ice on the cake.
Any Master out there who can help me out?
Please I want a procedure to updated my WM!
step 1:
search topics about USPL. u need to do that first to prepare your phone for custom 6.5 roms
step 2:
pick a 6.5 rom of your choice and flash your Artemis
be sure to follow exact steps as described in the topics if else your phone will be "bricked"

In my opinion 6.1 is more suitable for processor 201Mhz. But you can try shady 313 ROM.

One question...
How to choice the best ROM when you are new in this?
the first question is valid, it's needed a step by step for dummies, reading the whole forum is way complicated for normal people.
I understand your confusion. We all had to go through the first phase of reading up. None of us instantly knew what to do and which ROM was the best. Just try and find out, that's all I can give you.

I did the folowing steps
1. Go on thewingster.com and choose a nice wm 6.1 rom

(you must do that, other wise you will brick your device)
3. Then I followed this http://thewingster.com/howtoflashnbhuspl.aspx
4. Congratulations, now you have a new rom

For my undersanding by reading the toturials: if you've made the HardSPL its donne. You only have to do that for one time.
From now on you can change the roms of your choice.

I think, i'll give it a try this evening.There are a lot of ROMs much better then my WM6.0.---And I need that little more RAM comes with those clean ROMs

There is a thread/tutorial in the LEO ROM section. However if you have just had your phone and know nothing about Windows Mobile I would suggest you don't take this step just yet.
Read the tutorial through and make sure you THOROUGHLY understand it first. Would also suggest you read the wiki.
Reading the forums is the best way to learn about your device and what can go wrong if you don't get the rom upgrade process right.

PS: It would be a lot easier if you waited for 1.61 to be officially released on the HTC site. The process for official rom upgrades from there is not as complicated as other processes.
I have HD2 WM 6.5
I want to have "Start" and "OK" buttons in the bottom, like it`s on WM 6.5.3 (appearance of WM 6.5.3)
Is it already possible ? Maybe by some kind of app or theme?....

No it isn't possible. You need a Custom Rom or an update to WinMo 6.5.x.

If you just want the buttons on the bottom for the sake of it, and are otherwise happy with your current rom, but you have no idea how to do that, I suggest you refrain from flashing a custom rom.
If you really want to do that anyway, go here, and look for both the "flashing for noobs" guide, and search for thread with [ROM] [Russian] in the title. Artemis rom is one of them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580

I tried a few Roms before deciding on this one... Also it was my first time Flashing, using the guides mentioned... very easy and without problems...
Hi ,first of all I want to excuse if the thread exist.Before few days ,I buy HTC Touch HD ,and it's with Windows Mobile 6.5 ,and I think that the device is very slowly and I want to make downgrade to 6.1.I don't understand the terms ,and I don't known what I have to do.As I know the phone have to be hacked ,and I have to flash it with new ROM (what exactly ROM is?)

1. DO NOTHING if you don't understand what terms mean. You may make your device unusable!
2. If you don't understand this: [TUT] Dummies guide: flashing 1.56+ roms [v 2.0] - [HSPL][USPL] DO NOTHING!
Please state at least your country, maybe there is someone who can guide you in your native language...

You should learn more and you'll figure it out for yourself...
And yes by flashing a new ROM(anykind of) the older ROM will be deleted.
The User Interface(touchflo, manila, sense, titanium) is, usually, included in the ROM, but there are UI instalable like any other application by cab. file(ex: spb shell), it's up to you to chose a ROM depending UI you like/desire, but again you should read more...
You should start by reading(very carefully) "Dummies Guide for..." from this section(ROM development).

As for your query, read the Dummies Guide thread. The second or third paragragh down explains how to put your device in bootloader. Check your SPL. It should state either SPL 1.54.000 or SPL 1.56.Olinex. This will tell you whether or not you have HSPL on your device or not, i.e. if 1.56.Olinex, you have HSPL. If so, just flash a WM6.1 rom
If SPL is 1.54.000 you will need to put either USPL or HSPL on your device before flashing a wm6.1 rom
All you need to do is follow the Dummies Guide and you will be grand
i.e. if you want to use USPL and your SPL is 1.54.000 go to step (USPL5) on post 3
or if you want to use HSPL go to step (HSPL2a) on post 2

Hello new here,
There are many guides about how to flash ROMs and stuff. Use the search tool to find those guides. You can also check the stickies, they will help you. I don't think anyone will lay out the process step by step as there are various methods and numerous ways to install ROMs. I suggest you also read the "What is HSPL, cLK MAGLDR" thread (google it) as it will help you understand the HD2 and Android on it.

Or alternatively since you have a TMOUS just completely skip the radio stage and never worry about it.
