Hi Guys
I need help. After recently flashing my universal with Tomal v8.9 lite rom. My Uni went crazy and I got two problems that repeat constantly:
1. It is switching itself off for no reason especialy when wifi is on (it does it on power and when on battery) and It can't restart until I connect it to power supply.
2. I've put the skyfire on but when connecting insted of using T-mobile internet its trying to use T-mobile picmsg connection settings and is not connecting to the net. IE and opera are working ok with the right connection ( i'm on T-mobile with web and walk unlimited internet)
Plz any1 can explain this and help to correct?

How good is your battery life? perhaps it´s time to replace it
Have you tried to reflash to another ROM?
Have you tried doing a Doc format?
See if doing any of that prob goes away
well you might be right about the battery. i have this uni sice 2006 and for last year it was lying in the draw coz i've cracked the screen and just recently i've bought new one and replaced it so the battery sounds like the cause of the problem event if the device shows that is 75% full when the switching off happend but the fact i need to connet it to the charger to make it boot again confirm that theory. However it happend also when i had it connected to the charger in my car during using tomtom but i think it was fully charged at this very moment so maybe the charger went off or something. anyway it is happening when a lot of power is needed ( wifi on , bluetooth in use etc.) so it is defenetly power issue. But im getting my htc hd2 tomorrow so the universal will remain in my car as a sat nav thank you for your help.
btw what is doc format?
ah yes I've tried to flash WM5.0 the one with tmobile ext rom but it got stuck in boot scren... I coudn't make it work so I've flashed it back with tomal's rom. Is there a problem with going back to wm5?

Does anyone know how to stop the ATOM from changing the view to landscape each time the camera button is selected?... been the same on all roms and the button is assigned to the camera only yet when pushed it flicks the screen sideways, then when exiting it goes back portrait - its annoying and i'd like to stop it...
Also with the *leaked* rom anyone know how to get the clock back up the top instead of the battery indicator which doesnt change no matter how charged the phone is?..
FTR... the 3second delay patch works on *Leaked* rom with MP3's as well as other formats..

XDA Atom - Issues with new rom
I've just switched from the XDA2i to the Atom and am starting to wish I didn't. I bought this phone on ebay.com/au and it was only 2 wks old, the chap said he no longer needed it for work....probably got hacked off with it being so buggy.
I'm running the new 20060217b1wwe rom with the radio r060221n_mn1arc_rs00045 as the old rom (one which came pre loaded) constantly froze and needed soft re-setting.
The issues I'm having are as follows:
1. When phone is in standby after a few mins the green led stops flashing and it no longer accepts incoming calls and goes straight to voicemail until I press the power button, it then searches for a network and the green light flashes again.
2. When listening to the radio there is a constant buzz in the background.
3. Sound only comes out of the right headphone ( I've seen in another post that this has happened to others, a suggested 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter was the fix. Surley the headphone which comes with it should work properly!!)
Also are there any updates which sets the phone up with UK settings and not Australian defaults
Why do O2 release phones without fully testing it....it hacks me off.......Anyway if someone could help me out with my above problems before I launch it from the 15th floor of my office building that'll be great
Me too. I've got an Atom few days ago and using same rom and radio as yours. I find 3 problem with it:
1. Green led stops flashing
2. Battery lasted so quick, usually have to re-charge after 10 hours (with only 1 hours talk time, no bluetooth, infrared and wifi.
3. Wi-fi is buggy. After connected, it auto disconnected .
I'll try to re-flash ROM.
Does anyone can help.

my issues with the Atom

I have been using the XDA IIi for the last 1 and 1/2 years, and got this present from myboss...an ATOM. I dont have the same problems, but some are similar I guess.
1.After I receive an MMS, the phone stays connected to the Internet, or rather connected to GPRS/EDGE. After successful downloading, it remains connected. Any ideas why? in the IIi it disconnects after downloading, and also if my browser remains inactive for some time.
2.Synchronization is terrible. Most of the time, when i plug in to sync, there will be an error, then i unplug and plug it back, it may sync. this is terrible. Im using active sync 4.1
3. This terrible phone needs awful lot of reseting. Even to check the System info, i needed to reset the bugger.
4. This is very very slow.. and battery power drains so much. Im only using SPB pocket plus 3.1.1 the oly external software running on the Atom.

SPB pocket plus is known to conflict with atom performance.
By the way why have you not updated your ROM to any of the non-official ones floating around? First was the Leaked ROM, and just 2 days ago came the Test ROM, which, in my personal opinion, is tops so far.

Actually i havn't been around the forum, so have not got real updates from here. Will follow it up.

No Sound coming from left earphone.....
Since I posted my issues above i've found that most of my issues were to do with my virgin payg sim. When I inserted my works vodaphone sim I had no connection issues at all. All other quirks seem to have disappeared too....with the exception of the headset problem. I only get sound from the right headset and also I can not use with microphone on the headset either.....I purchased the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and bought some new headphones but to no avail.....Does anyone else have this problem if so how was it resolved??
My Atom green led stop flashing after few minute - always ON (offcouse it is network registered). Is it normal ? Like other HTC green led must flashing when registered to network.

but as per my previous post, i still cannot find what the crap is about the active sync and the atom. Well, the sync problem is ther still, here is an error it is giving

Er, did u upgrade from a previous ActiveSync? Remove the ActiveSync installation totally (Even the residual files), and perform a clean install of ActiveSync 4.1.
I find that the old files of ActiveSync sometimes conflict with ATOM synchronization...dunno why.

Here is what I have done so far.....
Started with: Radio v. 1.39.00, ROM V. 2.13.656.2, Bootloader 1.2
Went to bootloader 2.40(via Hard-SPL-MF.exe), Scrosler's Titan ROM 3.26 w/touchflow. and then Radio 3.42.30.

Try the hardware switch on the side of the unit. The software switch was never able to work under most ROMs that I have ever used.
I toggled that (WiFi switch), and it does the same thing for me.
Should I try another ROM or radio version? I don't want to do a bunch of flashing.......anyone know a good firmware version (and radio v.) with everything working and ready to go in terms of functionality? I don't mind putting all the carrier info in etc, just want all the radios to work afterwards (wifi, eV(cellular data), cell, bluetooth, IR)
Never heard of the problem. I say reflash because something happened.
Changed the battery power option under wireless to best performance.....everything works now

When I use the ppckitchen my wifi refueses to work. I'm actually about to reflash it right now to DCD to see if it fixes it

The Switch seems to be malfunctioning...WHen I turn it off, it turns on the software for a second, then shuts off. WHen I turn it in the same thing happens. Really weird.
THis happened BOTH TIMES i reloaded the ROM.
im using the Kaiser Comm Manager(10 Buttons), and on it it always appears that the wifi is turned off, but functions fine with the switch

i have the exact same problem since a couple of month and i cant seem to find a fix for that. I dont even know if the problem is software on hardware related.
i have used dcd 3.2.6 and 4.1.2
and im currently running ryan 2.0 i think wm6.1
maybe i should try wm 6.5
the only thing i know is that i would REALLY like my wifi to work :'(

i am using the ryan 2.0 wm6.1 and my wifi does not work either, didnt work in wm6.5 and no available memory in 6.5 either so save your time.
my phone was a mix of 2 broken moguls, the only thing i dont have working is vibrate and wifi

DO you see a MAC address in the WLAN advanced settings?
If not, you just need to write a new MAC address and your WIFI will work, or so I have heard.
so... how do we enter in a MAC address if it is missing?

Hi every body,
My Prophet is warming up itself, battery is being consumed very quickly, wifi doesn't turn on.
It seems wifi problem created by wm 6.1, allthough it worked fine 1 day after updating my prophet wm5 to wm 6.1.
I have tried with wm5 again, and it doesnt get warm untill I turn on the wifi manually, but with wm6.1 it gets warm from the boot, no need to turn on the wifi( if I turn off the wifi by registry tweek, it doesn't get warmed).
I have tried with most of the available roms(also radio roms) here, same problem, but definitely it's wifi was great before updating to wm6.1.
Can any one please help me in this situation?

wifi works well based on my experience the only problem is BT < when you try to receive a file from another device but heres the tweak for that.
using a simple registry edit tool..

It make some week i had problem to activate wifi on my HD. On comunication manager, it try some second to activate it, but at the end it still desactivated.
I try to flash rom (some french rom, some english rom, wm6.5, wm6.1...). I try also a lot of radio rom (1.14,1.13,1.12,1.09) and hard reset, but it still doesn't work.
I installed Wifi Monster wich tell me that no Compatible Wifi adapter is found when it try to launch wifi.
If i find no solution i can try to send it to waranty (which mean i'll need to put off all cooked stuff..), but as i go to travel next week, i'd like to find a solution for don't have to use expensive data connexion.
Is someone have one brillant idea ?

Have you tried using wm wifi router or HTC wifi router?

I try both solution without result. On wm wifi routeur, on first startup, it said wifi was not found and ask me to select an interface. I had choice between TNETTW12511 and WWAN1. I try both, but don't work. I start connection sharing but don't see asociated acces point. (wifi stat is at 0db).
Same problem with the other softs...
no other idea ?
I use SD card flash method with olinex SPL 1.56. Is it possible the problem come to that ?
Sounds like the wifi chip is dead - lots of people have reported the same thing happening, and the only option is to send it back to HTC for a repair. We had it happen to one of ours - never found out what caused it, but the camera died at the same time.
The people who've had repairs and looked inside say the boards have been replaced, so it's not just a flashing/firmware issue. Some suggest the design is bad and the antennas are just too close to the chipset, but of course HTC won't comment on that idea.
Too bad.
I'll send it to htc when i came back and i'll use data til that, but it will cost a lot ...

so i have am htc leo , enrgy rom, radio 2.15.50.14 rom version 27.dec.2010 wwe,
i can't make my bluetooth work or wifi in normal rage , bluetooth works only within 5-10 cm no more and wifi... 30-40 cm ,it sais that cannot find device/ network etc.. i'm from romania, and some dude told me taht i can't do anything because i have a t-mobile ... true? my batery life and orange internet conection is greant ,signal also, no problem with the phone at all just this ones.. but enought to regret buying it i never tested with stock rom....

Not sure if I can offer a lot of help here but just to be sure you have checked all of your settings haven't you? Did you you flash the ROM to the phone or was it on the phone when you got the phone?

i bought it with an older energy, ies i checked all options ... the problem is the range ... it works just fine when is near (5-10 cm) for example to send a video i need the other phone on top of mine if i lift it at a certain point stops if i let it dows the transfer continues... a simple question would be the radio version affects also wifi and bluetooth ? could be a problem form wrog instal a rom from old user ?

AsFor your question yes the radio does control WiFi and Bluetooth and maybe a different radio version would help you out. But be aware if you have a T-Mobile HD2 you can not flash a 2.04.50.zz, 2.05.50.XDA, or any x.xx.51.xx radio to they will brick a TMOUS HD2. Go to the HTC HD2 Master Radio Thread to download different radio versions. Here is a link to it.

Also you can try doing a hard reset of the HD2 by holding down the volume up and down button while powering on your HD2 and it will bring cupcake stern with instructions on it. Just follow the instructions on the screencto reset the HD2. Make sure to use Microsoft My Phone or a equivalent app to back up you personal info before you hard reset your HD2.
sounds to me like a hardware problem. this is because (i think) the hd2 uses the same antenna and/or chipset for bluetooth+wifi. i remember reading some threads in which people posted the exact same symptoms as the OP and the problem turned out to be some loose/broken antenna wire inside the device.
