I like this program but the free doesn't let me log into anything.
Does anyone have the crack for the new version?
Otherwise, what are some other ways to tether with this Sprint Vogue with an android build? I would be using a USB and Windows 7.
I use tetherbot.

I am very new to the Windows Mobile world, coming from a Palm Treo 700p (but please don't hold that agaist me). With my Treo, there was a program called PDANet (http://www.junefabrics.com/palmnet/) that allowed me to use it as a modem for my laptop. There is a version of PDANet for Windows Mobile (http://www.junefabrics.com/pdanet/index.php) but I have learned there is another program that may be better, WMWiFiRouter (http://www.wmwifirouter.com/).
Again, I am new to Windows Mobile, so I do not know much about either program for this platform. For those who are, can you tell me which program you prefer and why?
How do the features and performance compare, does one do things that the other doesn't?
Forgive the newbie questions but thanks!
Hi,
I dont have sprint service anymore and cannot call them to fix problems.
I did however upgrade (Flash) to the new Windows Mobile 6.1 using the one provided by Sprint and HTC from there website;
_HTC Mogul (Sprint)_RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_TITAN_3.42.02_SPCS2.04_PPST_0718_Ship
It went well, and now my HTC 6800 (Sprint Mogul) states the following on the "about" page in the phone.
WM 6.1 Pro
CE OS 5.2.19208 (Build 19208.1.0.1) 2007 MS Corp.
Now for my PROBLEMS!
1) Wifi wont work.
Actually more specifically IE mobile doesn't work. It still tries to connect to the sprint network (I had the SERO Plan) using the cellular connection (which I dont have anymore). I tried to change the advanced settings to make all Internet programs to use the wireless connection, BUT THE WIRELESS CONECTION IS NOT LISTED AS A OPTION IN THE ADVANCED SETTINGS or any network settings! The wifi in my phone connects properly to my home network though, and I tried without any wifi mac filtering or wifi encryption, and still IE mobile wont connect.
How do I fix this? Is there an app that will auto set all the correct reg settings and everything?
I want to the use the Mogul as a Internet downloader to download Usenet binaries and if possible megaupload links (a more greener option that having the desktop on). Anyone know of any programs that can do this on windows mobile? I was hoping to use NZBmobile for usenet. Dont know of any rapidshare or megaupload downloader for the the mobile though (Like jdownloader for the desktops).
2) Sprint Bloat software and features. Basically is there a version of windows that is just the OS without the bloat from companies? Will WM 6.5 be too big for the HTC to handle? I saw this on the net
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=67673
Will it be too much for the mogul with the tiny memory on this thing?
3) any 3rd party GPS software that dont require a Net connection and can use preloaded maps? I have 8 GB card.
Thanks to all those who keep the site alive!
Install DCD 3.3.4 or 4.1.2. You dont need the carrier cab and then use something like garmin xt.

Hey thanks for the reply drewcam888!
See I'm a bit new to mobile moding hacking. You couldn't trouble yourself to provide some links that show me how to get my wifi working could you? That really is my main problem now

I have been wanting to do some mods and couldn't find what the difference is between 3.3.4 and 4.1.2
Will you explain?
Thanks

Hello! I'm new here and have gained interest in my htc vogue from Bell. I haven't unlocked it as I might not need it. I was wondering if I could use remote desktop to connect to my home desktop. I know that the vogue does not have wifi, so I was wondering if there was any way around it. Thanks for reading, I hope to see some posts!
Thanks.
Tom
if you connect via ActiveSync, you will automatically share the connection from your computer with your device.
As far as I know (IIRC), there is a remote desktop app with some builds of windows mobile 6.5. Not sure how well it works.
Thanks for replying, I was actually thinking of accessing my files and controlling the computer when I'm not near it to access it, such as if I was a room from my computer, I could use my phone to raise the volume on some music, or shut it down via remote desktop. Any more suggestions though?
Thanks
Tom
if you are on the bell network just add the $10/month plan for unlimited data
Remote Desktop
There are two versions floating around on XDA of the remote desktop client. I installed the one rated to work on WM6.1 and luckily it worked on WM6.5.
Yes, the WM6.1 version should work for simple remote desktop.
Has anyone had any experience using remote desktop on the vogue along side a vpn client? Trying to use my vogue with computers at work has been impossible so far...
Now I know it's possible to get an Ad-hoc connnection using things like WMWiFiRouter and the likes, but one thing I've noticed is that you can get your phone to act as an Infrastructure WiFi Access Point when running Android. Now I ask, is this possible in Windows Mobile too? I don't want to switch to Android every time I want to use it.
I ask because a couple of my devices can't see Ad-hoc networks.
I know it's not possible by default because of the wireless driver WM uses (as opposed to the Android one). Now I don't know if there are any custom drivers or applications that use them, but I haven't heard of any.

Ok, so I'm guessing this post, and the lack of other responses, tells me I will have to use Android for infrastructure Wi-Fi sharing then.
Hi guys, I'm still hesitate to root and change the wpa file for wifi ad-hoc, and I think it'll be just even faster if we can use the USB to connect the phone as a modem. I have TP2 windows mobile, does anyone know if that's possible, or any app for that? Thanks.
hmmmmm
Been years since I have used Windows Mobile, but had a similar issue with my Samsung Intercept - the only wifi tethering apps I could find only supported ad_hoc connections.
Finally found a program that supported full infrastructure mode - was a lot easier that way.
A quick search of xda turned up something that might help you out: I used search terms "windows mobile infrastructure" as my terms and found my way here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357152
I think it is commercial software, but there seems to be a demo/trial thing going.
Best of luck - hope you get it working!

Thanks, but that's WMwifirouter, and only gives you ad-hoc, to my understanding, I'm using the latest version of the paid version of it.

I've tried different ways to tether-by-USB an HTC Touch Pro2 (Windows Mobile 6.5) to the Iconia A500 (Android 3.1). I tried both Internet Sharing and PdaNet unsuccessfully on a rooted A500 with a couple different versions of a modified wpa_supplicant file. No joy.
I ended up successfully using the trial version of WMWifiRouter on the TP2 to create a wifi hotspot for the Iconia. (I tried the USB method first on WMWifiRouter, but that didn't work.) I'll purchase the app as soon the trial expires--maybe someone will figure out a way to USB-tether the Iconia to WM 6.5 before then.
