I'm from the Elfin forum now upgraded to HTC Whitestone!!!.. incidentaly got a OPAL too LOL
Just a quicky guys
I see a lot of roms here, mostly from COM3-5 branches... I personally feel that COM2 Is the most stable and battery friendly ones... Sadly there is none that i could find ,,,, Are no chefs interested in Stable COM2 branches
I'd really appreciate if any Chef could make a COM2 branch Roms with builds like 21882-21889 ... an almost official Rom kinda with the new TF2D from Mega... check out the elf forums to see what i mean!!!

But I use these ROM and don't works fine, this have some issues, I don't remember the problem.
I want a stable version to, at this time i'm using build 28008 and works very nice.

It's not only the rom!
It depends on your apps too.
So nobody can really answer this question for you.
It's up to you to search this forum and test the roms, which
are available for your pda.
At last choose the most suitable for you.

There is no such thing as a bug free release/rom/program.
Just find the rom you like the most I've found mine. Learn to live with bugs until they are removed in a newer version of the rom
Khans v1.4 Rom is the most stable Rom
M.Amine Rom is also a good Rom
For me, the most stable for now is original 3.18.457 WWE + latest Radio 1.59.44.02 + CNF 3.5 + latest 3D drivers. Everything works fine, just a few minor bugs, M2D is smooth too on this one. Hope that helps

since the HTC mega OEM is out could some one over here make a rom for elfin with all the packages like the new album,,,audio manager and manila 2.0.... it would be great na....unfortunately i have no cooking skills.... so lookin forward to a new rom with the mega OEM.....

Manila 2D 2.0 looks great, but it don't work on elfin.
I tested it on a few Onyx ROM's (different builds)
Enhanced notification work on one of build I've tested.

I was wondering the same...and um, most things do run on the ELFin, the ones that have "permission" problems, is a matter of install...total commander, move files, delete manila from you windows folder, etc.
The COOL thing would be to make 2 ROMS, yes, 2 : a "MEGA 6.1" and a "MEGA 6.5". And do a REAL TEST. See which is better in performance, battery life, and overall use.

It does work, I am using almost everything from htc mega on onyx beta 49
but yes manilla 2d alone uses up a lot of ram , my ram usage while running m2d is around 60%
i think onyx .. will upgrade his rom to mega package .. but only 6.1

1) Mega has wm 6.5
2) Dsixda has stopped cooking
i use the 6.5 manila rom on here, the new m2d works along with the comm manager, notification manager and phone canvas, still not got all the program on the dev thread working yet though
can't remember the cooks name
and if i heard right i think kwbr is playing around with the packages as far as i've heard,
some of the stuff may not work well on elfin as the mega will probably be a full 3g phone but hey who said that it can't be made to work
Well, this is what we can do.
We use all the packages from MEGA.
Except for M2D, we use the older version.
Well, bad circumstances force us into doing that.
Well I have been waiting for this ROM too..!!!
But even if this ROM is developed by anyone, its gonna eat a lot of RAM for working..!!!
But lets hope the "awesome cooks" on xda pull out somethin as always..!!!
& make things work..!!!

A MEGA 6.5 hopefully
btw currently using on onyx beta 49 almost all Mega cabs provided by whitealien and most of them are working but my elfin ram usage is around 57%(min) and takes a long time to boot..
NOW IT'S less than 40 MB
So definately a good fast elfin mega wm 6.5 rom is possible
same here onyx beta 49 with all mega cabs
but it even slows down other stuffs also...

i do hope onyx or someone else can do it..... the new M2d rom by vadyarik is awesome too.. infact i have that rom on my device and all the MEGA cabs work flawlessly even M2d 2.0 and memory is just 38mb...so i bet we can have a MEGA 6.5 for our elfins and a MEGA 6.1 for Elfs.....

onyx's name is dsixda and he won't cook any of the mega packages. he made that perfectly clear in the onyx thread along with the fact that he is no longer cooking for the elfin.
who out of all of us here can cook?
if so why not pull together and get a rom built up as a group?

I've noticed in a few different threads, pictures of the bottom tool with the start menu and the ok/x button...

The cook of that ROM said its included in the newest 6.5 builds..
I'm somewhat of a die hard EngergyRom fan and since this feature is not included in his latest roms, I'd love to find a way to add this..
I've searched all over and cannot find anyway to change the bottom toolbar to this config..the closed i can find is this

That is a feature in the newest 6.5 sys. Only way I know to get it would be to flash a rom with sys 23022 or higher. The newest sys is 23041, the best so far in my opinion. Energyrom is still on 23016 i believe.

You have to wait for new NRG releases... this feature is present in new WM6.5 builds, not in NRG 23016 and a cab install is not possible.
yeah, i'm waiting for a stable newer 6.5 rom. i'm sticking with mighty6 until i see something that isn't apparently plagued with bugs.

If any of you are cdma, i suggest Demolition rom. Ive been using it for a bit and its pretty stable.
i'm on cdma.. i think i'm just gonna wait for the next build, i'm looking for something thats closer to mighty's style. i would cook my own, but i'm just too lazy.

Works pretty well as I have been using it for a few days. 23037 was buggy and 23041 screws up the volume controls and HTC Volume is incompatible... so I'm waiting for another release before building another rom.
Can i find for me HD 2 a "final release" with 6.5.x? cooked offcourse cuz official things dissapeared

look at the windows build, if it starts 21xxx then it is windows mobile 6.5
if it starts 23xxx it is 6.5.x
At the time i wrote this, there are five 6.5.x roms on the first page of this section.
I believe he`s talking about a final version, bugfree, stable etc. not like these custom roms updating every week (21895, 21897/8/9 etc)
Is too soon for such a new device to talk about a final version of windows 6.5

with my last phone i didnt have problems with Touch X 10.9.1 NUTS - final build WM6.1 with sense 2.1 but with 6.5 it`s a long journey to a final stable build

if you don't like it, just try another 235XX-rom (235XX=wm6.5.5;231XX=wm6.5.3;218XX/2190X=WM6.5;other branches are experimental testbranches;235XX seems to be nearly "finished").
Maybe you could try latest dutty's Leo HG V2.1, flashed a lot and have never been happier with a flash before It's only drawback, is it's on HTCpedia :/

I always use a custom rom from others, because there are many people cooking for the devices i had, butt now i return to my htc touch 3g or htc jade and see that the roms are old.
I try cook to my topaz once and i remember that i change sys to have the newest release of win mobile 6.5.
i don't remember the kitchen i use.
I want ask wich kitchen i use to cook win 6.5 in my htc jade?

(im thinking about porting my blackstone rom to Artemis, a big job though, plus ill need to fix my Artemis )
yes butt are to different models and with very different memory's and all.
butt htc jade and htc mega are very similar, had the same processor, memory is bigger in htc mega...
i will try port some apps and things, i have to search about that, because there people who have did that...
yeah i know what you meen dude, some stuff can be copied to artemis, or slightly modified for it.
(it wont be for a while, but definatly thinking about doing it.. another project )
so, do you know how to port things from other devices? can you help me port the htc mega things to htc jade?
