Can I disable HTC Messaging to manage the message ?
Indeed, i have 3500 sms and is very very slow
There is a fix for this in BsB Tweaks. Search the forums for it. It's in the HD2 Themes and Apps forum, not the general one.
^^ quicker than me and better answer <3

Hi!
I have an htc touch diamond, and I searched the forum and some on google without any luck.
I was wondering if there is an app that show me how many sms/mms's I send each month.
Regards Furuly
Trinket Power SMS does, but its only a free trial its also got other cool features. I wonder if someone could make a free version of it?
homescreen plusplus can do so (and more): http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_batterystatus_xda_neo_wm5_im_cs.htm
Sorry for opening a ne thread, but my HD got stolen and I'm interested in the HD2
I have watched as many videos and pictures of manila 2.5 as I could before posting, but didn't find the answer.
When you go to the sms tab and click on 'all messages' how does the screen look? (maybe picture??) and then when you select a conversation from this screen how does this look? Can you see how many characters you have typed min a new sms?
Sorry for asking this, but I'm just really curious about the way it looks, because it's so ugly in manila 2.1.
Thanks in advance
Grtz
Here, this should calm your curiosity. It's a total of 22 screenshots I took, all dealing with the HTC SMS application. The keyboard you see in most of the pics is FingerKeyboard 2.1 (see my signature).
I am using Dutty's Leo R5 ROM. I don't know if he changed anything in the sms app or if it is identical to what HTC will release.
Currently using PhamQuangs v64 rom which has similar screenshots to as above except using standard keyboard.
These screenshots above would be standard across most Leo roms available for the HD so should be the same for the HD2
Query answerd, thread closed
I would like to use the standard Winmo SMS and NOT the HTC message app. How can I disable to the HTC app? Is there a reg edit I need to do? Right now I cannot even use the standard SMS function.
Please help ... thanks!!
Fix found here

Lag issues are only found with operating HTC sense. I dont seem to get any lag when using the default windows 6.5 screen and htc messaging. And this is with quite a few messages saved fo a contact. Im assuming its a ram allocation issue possibly.
I think disabling something which is meant to be working perfect with a flagship handset is pathetic. Htc has to fix this.
I have been reading the thread on call history and sense 2.5 and noticed today on Neowin the HTC mini which has the call history above the calendar. I think that would be pretty cool to have - the cab's that are floating about here all seem to do strange things to the HD2 with various people reporting odd happenings. If the mini has this by default could this be cooked into the HD2's sense today screen?

I don't know if this will allow me to post a link above. But one is the article the other the phone.
Thanks

you can have this now by installing max manila. Do a search on the forum to find the application.

Thank you, just what I was looking for. Does the trick!
I do miss the "slide off" the home screen but hey for the other extras hardly something to get down about.
Cheers for the replies.

I'm a super-heavy texter, and the HTC app for text messages is horribly slow, even when i dont have many texts saved... I know there are some roms that do not have it, is the standard windows mobile application really faster? or is there some better alternative?
Could anyone sugest good ROMs with a messaging application other that the HTC one?
Thanks

Try NRG or Elegancia roms, Both of them come without HTC messaging clinet
sigh, the problem is these 2 roms are both hosted on hotfile, and where i stay (Singapore) i can never download off hotfile...
any mirrors lying about?

Many thanks wsayed, I tried Elegancia but i really dont like that rom... horrible icons and poor performance... but i did manage to see that the standard windows mobile sms client is way faster than the HTC one... so i'm going to try NRG now
Try kwbr. He offers a version with and without HTC Messaging.
Is there not a way to just install standard WM messaging on the stock rom? I'm quite happy on stock but I'm not crazy about the HTC messaging either.
OMG, HTC Msg is so horrible. You can have more 100 sms. From 50 onwards you starting to feel something wrong!

Yes you can:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614
And to answer OP's question - Yes, it is very fast
However, if you want HTC msg, you can do use MyPhone to archive sms. Trying to keep around 50 sms each time. This has been working well for me!
Here's another one... Miri's HD2 series.

Much better when HTC messaging is not included in the rom... text messages sync properly with Exchange 2010 and the unread bubble is always correct.
Try my roms :d no htc messaging, hosted on vbn and ul.to, tmous and non tmous compatible
