Hi guys,
I just used Google Goggles v1.1 today and noticed it stopped working for me. What happens when I take a picture is that only a part of the picture is used during analysis (when the blue lines scan the photo) and it seems random which part of the taken picture is used.
Goggles v1.0 worked great for me, but it seems after this update it suddenly started doing what I described above. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix this? Is this only happening on our X10s?

You have got to adjust the crop (bottom right-hand button on the screen) to get the whole of the picture in there....
I am not sure why they have changed this...
yup I'm having the exact same problem after I updated goggles as well. The image, like you said, is totally random and zoomed in/cropped unintentionally. A semi-workaround I've found is if you use the crop tool, then the randomness is somewhat limited. I wonder if we can download the old 1.0 apk anywhere??
yeah, exactly the same thing happening with me...it seems to take a close up shot of the far top right corner of the image u take and analyse that portion only...really frustating....using the crop button helps a bit but not ideal still....would be good if we can get the version one apk.
Does anyone know if this is only happening to X10s?...
Found the 1.01 apk for those that want it.

yup, hapened to me from the very start... but might try this apk and hope the problem goes away...
Edit: And the problem did indeed go away...!
Yeah same problem here downgraded back to 1.0 and works fine again

That appears to address a similar issue - perhaps it would work? My tablet gets here tomorrow, so I'll give it a try. Until then, if someone else has looked into the problem at all, maybe we could get a thread going on how it can be fixed. Has anyone made any headway?

No report on this yet? I'm very interested as this issue affects the pic gallery.
BTW, TNT Lite v2 FTW!
I checked it out but the file he is referring to isn't there, used rootexplorer
Also the sensor app shows absolute 0 way off, it does seem as if this can be fixed, or at least changed
This depends on which accelerometer the system is using. gTab may not have this accelerometer.
in regards to orientation issues:
It's actually right. I found this the other night and just haven't had a chance to post it yet: nvidia developer pdf.
It seems that the orientation being 90 degrees off is correct (link, page 6). Somehow we need to fix the transforms to get us from the correct orientation to the phone-standard orientation that apps seem to be written on (have a look at page 7 of the pdf).
TNT lite 2.0 seems to have fixed the issue
I've loaded TNT lite 2.0 and then started up the game Raging Thunder and it works perfectly.
Warning on TNT lite 2.0. Make sure you have clockwork mod loaded first. My machine went into a boot loop and I had to use clockwork mod to get out of it.

Raging Thunder 2 has never been an issue for me, and is one of the smoothest running games...it's obvious that they have done something different. Maybe it can be used to fix other games.

I have Raging Thunder 2 and works great on my Incredible, but on Gtablet, shows only half screen at the title and never gives options to load up. How did you get it to work?
Reports are it is an Nvidia issue and the current patch does not cover the problem. Did not for me, so I can agree with that assertion.
I am using TnT Lite 2.0.
Anyone else notice that is they hold the tablet upside down as using it while lying on your back, the touch screen has issues, very laggy, have to hold down my presses many times for it to register, like accessing apps I have to try three+ times to get it to work. When I rotate the device back to on my lap everything works great. Wondering if this has something to do with the G-Sensor hardware/software.

That 's what we concluded in our group too.
The G-sensor is not a defect, it 's the game design that use a different orientation.
If you look at Tom Clancy 's flight game and Raging thunder 2, the G sensor works properly.
What we worry the most is that if we do switch the machine's G-sensor output, we will have problem with newer game which designed with Tablet orientation in mind.
One of the developer in our group are actually mod the game itself so that the x-y axis are switched in the game app. This seems to be working quite well. He did about 10~15 games already.

check pm and try it out
You all are all correct to some point. The logical fix would be a sensor orientation option built into settings, since changing the orientation will fix some games and probably result in others being broken. Raging Thunder 2 is an example.
Where can we get said games?
I bought Raging Thunder 2. Nice game on G
You are probably referring to the modded games... Yeah- where do we get them?
I also have the sensor issue in my gallery. It makes it quite difficult to make selections. If it is just those games having this issue, how can I fix it in gallery?

I will pm you all
I would also like a pm with games. Thanks
Would you please PM me those also,,, Thanks
i'm curious about said games as well.
Hi,
when I use the camera on the rear of the xoom in apps (wordshot, barcoo, wikitude) the picture is always turned by 90 degrees. Has anyone seen the same problem? Or maybe a solution for this?
Zusan
Is there really noone, who has the same problem? Or maybe any hint to solve this issue?
are you using the xoom in landscape mode when you do this? perhaps those apps code the camera to orient when the xoom is in portrait mode. just a guess.
you should also contact the dev to get it direct from the horses mouth so to speak.
Thank you for your reply. Because I had the same idea I started the app holding the xoom landscape and after that didnt work, I held the xoom in portrait while starting. Or is there another way to set the orientation?
A second thought was that there may be something wrong with the sensors of my xoom, because I have also strange behaviour in some apps:
- In "google sky map" turning the xoom from portrait to landscape without changing the position of the xoom, suddenly makes the north to the west.
- Wikitude doesnt show any icons for the places in the camera-mode anymore, which it did since a while ago. Maybe thats because of the newest version or maybe there is something wrong with the sensors so that wikitude cant place the icons correctly!?!
Just a guess, but I have no idea how to prove this.
DBL post...
I have to post this in here because i cant post in the other forum i have noticed that in this rom the magnetic field sensor is not working neither are apps like super compass thanks for such a great rom though i hope this can be fixed.
Compass should work, but I too see a problem with compass apps... Works on google maps though
something is definitely up if you use the app androsensor reboot the phone and then open up androsensor some of the sensor readings don't show up but if you leave it a while they do show up but the app SuperCompass does not work when it did on the stock firmware.
Great rom however but could this bug please be investigated thanks very much and keep up the great work on this amazing rom

try this: extract this at system->lib and set the same permissions as the previous libsensorservice.so file. Reboot and check if it works
That file has fixed the problem partially although the compass jumps around alot it displays accurate reading but then the compass jumps to another direction and then back to the correct one thanks this problem seems to be nearly fixed now.
please understand me for i dont know where to put this question
im having a dead pixel or bug when im opening my gallery application.
there is a rainbow color at the upper left corner of the apps.
anybody who can tell the possible solution?
You have it only on the gallery or everywhere? If it's everywhere then flashing stock rom won't help.
You might want to take it for repair or do it yourself in that case.
Never had the problem myself personally but that is just what I think.
try using 3rd party image preview applications like Quickpic,
and see if the pixelated image still occurs
uhm
it only happens when i open my gallery but quick pic and other gallery apps are ok and no dead pixel.
i tried to change to custom rom (hyperion, creed and now ussr) also custom kernel.
updated to latest stock but problem still occurs.
well thats weird, never heard or see,but thats not dead pixel, because dead pixel are one mini point on screen in white/black.(in the most).
uhm
yeah i thought this is just a bug on default gallery application and not dead pixel
or maybe its a hardware problem or malware?
i will bring it to tech personnel soon and hope they can fix bug.
thanks to your response.
its only me who has the problem. du**mb phone
Are you using a Chaifire3d app ? maybe that problem from it
