Is it possible to decrease the vibration when someone calls or new sms is received?
I would like to have vibration for case I don't hear it, but default power is too much for my taste, it is like an earthquake if the phone is on the table made of glass

I don't think it's possible to change the actual vibrate settings. I've asked a few times on here and no-one seems to be able to help. It is an annoying feature of the phone
It is ok when vibrate reminds me...but not in such power...

Wow actually its a advantage for me.... i actaully it takes powerful vibrator to wake up monoster like me
Hi all!
This is my first post, but I've been reading the forums for a long time and I'm happy to be able to help.
I have noticed that the vibration time is linked to the lenght of the played sound. If you have a long tune for the SMS then the phone will vibrate for a longer period of time. If you have a very short "blip" then it will vibrate one or two seconds...
I hope this helps you!

Ok, so on every dumb phone I have ever had you can hit the volume button on the side of the phone to silence the ringer for both incoming calls and SMS. On every WM phone you can only do this for incoming call. Kind of sucks because I want a long sms ringer so if im in the next room it gives me more of a chance to hear it, but it also sucks when you have a 30 second ringer that you cant shut up. So here is my challenge, someone develop and app that will allow you to silence the sms ringer with a button push. I don't have the slightest idea how to go about doing it, but i'm sure someone on here can do this fairly easily.

Mabe this totally isn't what you're looking for, but this is my solution.
I'm using PhoneAlarm. When I have a missed call or SMS, it gives me a
warning every 30 seconds for 30 minutes long.
That would solve you're missed SMS/calls problem.
I'm afraid developing an app for this, is much more difficult.
not really what im looking for but definitely a good solution for the general problem. So anyone know why its so hard to develop an app that can interrupt the sms ringer?
Hi !
Is it possible to decrease the vibration when someone calls or new sms is received?
Because the original vibration is much too noisy for me! I'm student and when I'm in class and the phone vibrate, everybody's hearing it !!
It's louder than the ring set on 3...
Is there any possibility ?
Thanks
I'd also be interseted to hear about this. It's the loudest vibrating i've heard from a phone!
It's like an earthquake when the phone is on the glass table
+1 I too would be interested in this.
or maybe just a shorter vibrate would be better too. I have a low volume tone for SMS when at work, but have had to turn vibrate off altogether as this was louder that my message tone!
If it can’t be decreased, then a shorter vibrate time would be a start
me2 !! will save battery power lol
Look at this, it function on call and email, not on SMS (yet).

Thanks for this info !
I'll have a look into it.
Any other idea ?
i have my hd2 set up seaprate for sistem volum (10%) and ringer volume (100%) ... works fine, but the SMS volume is low, as the sistem volume
is there a way to fix this? like ringer AND sms = ringer volume???
thanks
UP please !
UP ? please !
upping it every so often probably isn't going to solve your issue
I think vibration strength is set by the amount of power given to the vibrator, so you should virtually reduce the current going to the motor, but probably that's not something easy to do... also, I don't need the vibration pattern utility, but I think you could set it so it has very short burts of vibration, that way it wouldn't be as noisy
I believe there is an app for vibration pattern on freewarepocketpc.
Thanks very much for your answers.
Seems that there is no other possibility that vibration pattern.
Cheers

Vibro in the omarket... Or online on pccpocketfreeware...
Apologies in advance if this issue has been covered, but I failed to see it in any searches.
I was wondering if there was anyway of increasing the strength of the vibrate on this model? When I receive calls or messages in meetings, I am unable to notice in when it's on vibrate mode.
Thanks.
hmm the HD2 has the strongest vibration that i know of, if you cant feel that perhaps your nerves are buggered
what when mine vibrates it registers on the richter scale.
lmao, same here. When I recive messages, emails etc. in class everyone look at me -.-
Be sure to turn vibration on, you must manually do that for Messages and emails etc. from sounds settings I mean.
I've checked all the settings and ensured "vibrate" is on, but I can still barely notice it. Ah well, thanks for the replies guys

Strange, mine is loud enough. I always notice my messages etc. but it is maybe becouse I use SonyEricsson MBW-100 with my Leo?
Interesting indeed, all the posts I've seen about vibration so far were about REDUCING it
Could someone give me a thread about decreasing vibration strenght then? I tried to search sometime ago but couldn't find a way to decrease keypress vibration for example....

Wear less clothing
Seriously though, the only way to increase the vibrating strength would be to actually open the phone and take out the vibrating motor, and either add a heavier weight to it, or to change to a motor with a higher RPM.
However, that will not only void your warranty, but can possibly a) cause structural damage to your phone or b) drain battery faster.
Mine is also not so strong, and before I used to have Nokia's which were a lot stronger, so their might be some weaker HD2?! So question stays: Is there a solution to +/- vibration on HD2?
hey, id also like to know how you can turn down the AMOUNT OF TIME that it vibrates for, when ever i get a text, it vibrates my ages!
Hi,
I have a couple of questions regarding the Legend's vibrator.
First of all, I would like it to vibrate when receiving a SMS only when in vibration mode. So far, all I can find in the settings is the option to either vibrate or not, no matter what profile is used. Am I missing something, or do I need an app that has further settings?
Second, I think the vibrator is a bit loud, and would love to be able to set the intensity. The first day after I bought my Legend, I was in a meeting with just two other people in a small office, and when my phone rang (vibrated) it attracted quite some attention because it was so loud. Again, am I missing where to change this, or do I need an app?
I tried searching the Market for an app to control vibration settings to address both or even just one of these issues, but didn't find anything useful. The closest was Smart Vibrator, which lets me compose vibration patterns for SMS as well as calls, which could solve issue #2 by doing a pattern of very brief vibrations - but it's still not exactly what I am looking for. Have anyone come across something more useful?

How are others finding the vibrate function? Good? Bad? Weak? Strong?
Coming from a Palm Pre, one of the frustrating aspects was a weak vibrator; causing me to miss notifications of calls, txts, emails, etc.
Most of the time when this phone is in my pocket I have it set on vibrate. Trouble is whenever I get an sms i can never feel it vibrate, the vibration is so faint...On other phones such as the iphone you can easily feel the phone vibrate in your pocket.
Anyway just wondering is there a way to make it so its a stronger/longer vibration when i receive a text message?
thanks

There is currently no way to do this. I think it is a hardware limitation. I agree though. The vibration on this model is horrible.
