Hi i know this an odd request but ive partitioned my sd card for apps2sd and lost all the content i had on there.
Someone had said the songs on there were pretty good and i never even got to hear any of them!
So i was wondering if anyone could upload a copy of the card for me.
Interesting, I didn't know they put anything on it. I swapped mine out for my 16GB card prior to even turning my phone on. If I get a chance I'll see about swapping back to see.
There was another thread y'day asking for the same thing, so you could have searched. I uploaded the files as a 7z file to my mediafire. Here you go.

Sorry no I didn't search, though I was only one sad enough for this request!
Ive never used mine, i took it out the phone before i used it!

Hi all I'm hoping someone can help me (and if this is the wrong forum for this problem I apologise but I saw nowhere else) I also apologise for the length but i find its good to give background when asking for help.
I recently bought an O2 XDA II and a 4Gb sd card to go with it (before i found out lots of people have problems with 4Gb). It was working fine, i put it in the phone and it showed 4Gb, I installed some programs and they went in fine. Then i went to copy music across and hit problems, sometimes it told me not enough memory (with 3.8 Gb free) other times it waould all copy fine but would not show any of the files (as if they'd been deleted) yet the space requirement for them was still gone, and with the files that did come across most just kept looing and last seconds of other tracks.
So i copied off me programsso i could put them back and after reading on here where it was mentioned to format the card on desktop first with card reader, I tried that, but the card only formatted to 1Gb so i put it back in the phone and hit format again and it came back to 4Gb. same problem though with the songs, can't copy can't play. So I put it back the the computer and deleted the dead files then copied them straight on through the card reader and played them through the pc fine but back in the phone i have gobbledegook file and folder names.
So i look around and find a program called flash formatter for ppc's and try that but it only formats to 1Gb and now heres the BIG problem i cannot format it back to 4Gb whatever i use
is there anyone at all on here who can help me at least get the card back to 4Gb as i can at least use that space to copy videos/pics/files and software to and get another card for music
Cheers
Belarin
could it have been a fake 4GB card which was really 1GB?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=267475&highlight=partition
this is also a good read
I don't think its a fake... Last night i formatted on my desktop (to 1Gb)and then copied just over 1Gb of large fileswondering if it was just reporting wrong but it did only copy the 1Gb HOWEVER when i put it back in the xda it asked me to format and put it back to 4Gb (which made me happier) i then put it back in the desktop and filled it upto to 4Gb and all files worked fine so i dont think its fake
Hi,
I am having a weird problem and that is any file that I copy on the memory card goes missing and I can not see it. Files are on the card though since checking the memory card size is giving the approximate correct used space. Is there anyone else having the similar issue? I tried even a hard reset but it didn't help. by the way I am running TouchFlo v14 for the wing.
Also is anyone know how to format a memory card, I couldn't find it anywhere.
thanks,
The disappearing storage cards is a common thing.

As far as formatting the card, I use a program called CNETX flash format which installs on the phone.
Missing 1go Kingston card
I carefully followed all of the above instructions for the pagefile change. It appears to work///got the dos window etc. but upon restart, my storage card with all the programs has disappeared...nowhere to be found "not installed"!
What did I do wrong please??? have I somehow destroyed the card? Is the disappearing act related to this tweak or simply coincidental. I would really appreciate some feedback here!
wow at first i thought that this is only a problem for a few but it seems many suffer from it! i think i am going to use the last link for future updates on this issue. i just formatted my device to see what will happen...
which instructions did you use shepperd?
actually i lost all the pictures and music on my card a couple times. the first time i just recreated the my pictures and my music folder on my storage card and it all came back. the second time this didn't work and i ended up having to bring the microsd card to my friends dorm who had a card reader in his laptop and i used a freeware undelete utility to recover all the missing files.
this happened to me both times while reflashing the phone so from now on i've removed the microsd card while flashing the phone and i've had no problems since.

thanks. i think this is useful information. by the way can i ask you the name of the software you used in your friends laptop?
thank you!
Never mind. I think any undelete program should work...
This weekend I was driving along and my CoPilot stopped working. Then I noticed that a couple of other apps weren't working and that the camera said it wouldn't take photo's until I inserted the SD card. I've had an 8GB card in there for the last 18 months.
Taking the card out of the phone and putting it in the PC does nothing. The PC at first says the card needs formatting but if you say yes it just says, insert a card.
I took some pictures at a friends Stag Party and I really need to get these pics off the card. I don't care about anything else.
I've tried a few of these "recover your images from a corrupted or formatted card" programs but they all require the card to be visible to the PC for them to work.
Has anyone get any ideas? Please help me
You could try a differnt card reader/different pc and hope that it works then, but tbo if its borked then with paying lots for data recovery, I'd say your out of luck
Sadly, I think you might be right. Looks like that card has gone to silicone heaven to be with all the calculators.

I would try every usb plug you have on your computer. i had the same problem and i kept at it. it took me several days to finally get it to work & to be honest im not sure why/how it did but i was thankful none the less.
i used this program & like i said i just kept trying. what worked 4 me was i held the card in the computer but only half way which the computer then was able to see the card. if you format the card you will lose everything on it so if you want pics off it & you format it you wont be able 2 recover them.

Thanks for the advice I'll give it a shot.
I thought at least if I could get it formatted then I could use some picture recovery software to get the pics back. It's so frustrating because there are only about 10 pics that I'm even bothered about. Everything else it backed up
hopefully that program will let you see that card, it did with mine eventhough though computer wouldnt. odd i know. i wouldnt apply or mess around to much with that program if you dont know what your doing because you can make it more difficult to regain your images. i gave the link 4 version 5 but i used version 6. i couldnt find it earlier 2 post, sorry. they do have a data recovery program that i used as well but ill have to hunt it down 1st & then i'll post the link.
i bought a hacked 16gb memory stick off ebay (!%$#@&$) that became corrupted and i was able to recover some of my files using the programs below. hope this will help you out.
MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 6.0
MiniTool Power Data Recovery
Thanks a lot man. I'd managed to find those from your first link. In fact, Partition Wizard actually suggests the 2nd program if the first one doesn't find anything
I've run Partition Wizard against it. It took all night after starting it at about 9pm it finished at 8am this morning. It thought my 8GB card was a 2TB drive but hey, at least it could see something which is more than any other tool.
I didn't find anything using that one but I'm going to try the Power Data Recovery tonight. Fingers crossed.
I have recently purchased a 32gb micro sd card. When I go to put new music on it, it shows from the pc side that it is loading on the external drive(g2 phone) and form the phone it says that it is on there. However when I disconnect the phone only the last album that I put on there stays and the music player will state that "this type of file cannot be played". I have formatted the card through the computer and to no avail, it acts the same.. I did format it on the Android and it worked, temporarily and could load music from my computer for a few days, then it stopped. I am clueless as to what is going on with it. p.s. I tried placing it in a card reader and it did the same, but i did not format it first that time. I seem to think the android is placing a bad file on it causing all these issues. (again I say this because when I format it through the phone it will work temorarilly) any help would be great, I really want toload my phone with music.

Put the same file on a known good SD card. If it stays, it's a bad card. Most of the time the company the card came from will replace it for free (like Wintec did with a bad card that couldn't handle an EXT4 partition).
It is not just one file, it can be multiple files, like I stated in the other thread (I apologize to do two on here, but I rarely have to ask for help, I am usually able to figure the problem out, but this one has got me) I have checked the card with h2test and it states that it does have 32 gigs on it but that the card is corrupt, I have formatted the quick way with sd formatter. What puzzles me is that at one time I was able to load more on it and now I cannot. I feel that there is a fix, I am just not finding it yet.(okay im testing while updating, if i uplug and replug the phone and place music on it, it will only keep the last folder, for instance i put nirvana nevermind on it, it will keep it, i then put a folder with two albums on it, say radiohead the bends and kid a, it will replace the last one , I am certain that space is not the issue, due to having placed less files on it the first time I restored the card agai)
Did you buy this card from ebay? A lot of counterfeit card on there. Cards that say they are 32gb but will only hold a quarter of that.

Try writing zeros with dd to the card... but be careful, dd will destroy anything you point it at, without hesitation. This is a typical dd command:
$dd if=/dev/zero bs=1M count=32000 of=/dev/somepartition
Where did you buy it? Like others have mentioned, it sounds like a counterfeit or broken card.
what is dd, and how can i tell if it is fake, every program ive used to check it goes through 29gigs of partition

DD is found in the terminal emulator on linux/unix systems. Be carefull, you can destroy everythign on a partition with it.
Also, you'll have to reformat afterwards ... the sdcard

Lots of the counterfeits are tampered with to report the "alleged" GB capacity. Its not until you try to transfer the files, that you run into problems and realize you were taken.
Again, where did you buy the card???
I apologize for not having answered your question, I bought it on eBay, I have been given a refund though. Where should I look for one at instead?
I got mine on amazon for like 55 bucks a few weeks ago been working great. It was a class 4 adata with a little blue usb card reader.
okay i bought a sandisk from a trusted store and again same thing, i am lost
What trusted store?
newegg class 4
Yup, that's about the must trusted store there is!
Any luck with lower capacity cards working? I'd say maybe its just a defective card. But its weird to have a string of bad luck like this. Is it possible the SD card tray on your phone is damaged?
Do you have an after market battery? Just curious...

I have a SM-N910V with a 64 GB SD card in it. I take occasionally want to watch a movie while I am on the plane or something. Over time, my SD card has gotten rather full. Now I only have about 2 GB left, and I can't seem to delete anything.
I had my previous phone (a venerable Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket) rooted and custom rommed and hooked up, but as I understand there is currently no way to root the N910V model. If I go into "My Files" and attempt to delete items from the SDCard, I get the "failed to delete" error message. Similarly if I use ES File Explorer, I get "Task Failed".
I have tried taking the SD card out of the phone and putting it in my Galaxy Tab 2 (which is also rooted and is running Cyanogen. I CAN delete the items there! At least it does not give me an error... when I put the card back into the Note 4, all of the items are back as though nothing ever happened. I am starting to get angry. This should not be that hard. Those are my files damnit and I want to delete them.
Please, I am at my wits end. I have read countless forum posts where people swear up and down that "My Files" deleting works. It don't in my case. Many other posts tell people to "Just root it" but that does not look like an option to me. Anyone else have something I can try?

Can you delete files from the card if you put it in a PC? Sounds like the card may be corrupt - I have had a few that went like this (all Sandisk cards). You can still read the data from them, but they can't be written to. Your phone/tablet/PC may say the file has been deleted or even the entire card reformatted, but the data is all still there when you reinsert the card. New card is the only solution - I've tried Mini Partition Tool Wizard and everything and there is no way to revive the card. I have started using only Samsung cards and to date have had no further problems.
EDIT: I'm on Lollipop (not rooted) and can use the MicroSD in Solid Explorer and ES with no problems/limitations.
Hmm, my card reader doesn't accept microSD, and I don't have an adapter. I will have to check with a friend to see if he has one.
Or try a different card in the phone
I had the exact same problem a year or so back. Your card is faulty. If it's under warranty they will replace it. Don't waste anymore time trying to fix it.
