Hi,
I'm running Justhome WM6.5 Alpha on my Wing. I downloaded the cab for BatteryStatus for the purpose of overclocking my phone. Down load seemed to go fine, but when I click on the icon in the Startup menu...it comes up and says it is disabled, and do I want to enable it? I choose yes and it does nothing. I have no display in the home screen and doesn't seem to be any way to enable it. Would appreciate if anyone knows what may be the problem or what I can do. Did several searches and can't find anyone else having this problem.
Thanks in advance!
Batterystatus only works with the normal WinMo homescreen, not Titanium. What you need todo is go into settings and make the theme back to Windows Mobile Default or whatever it ISN'T when your homescreen is Titanium. Then try running batterystatus again.
Ok....thanks for the info. It appears this rom only came with the one homescreen. If I go find and download an OEM homescreen and turn it on and set the overclock where I want, can I then change back to this current screen without messing things up again? It seems I've seen Batterystatus running on the homescreen of other roms (windows wing). Is it just Titanium that it has a problem with? Thanks much for you help!
Well, the reason that it won't run on a Titanium homescreen if because of the way that plugins are supported. Titanium requires plugins to be written a certain way, and likewise the default homescreen requires that they be written a different way.
And no, you can't install an OEM homescreen, start BS, then change it...when you change the homescreen, whatever plugins enabled on that particular homescreen is unloaded from RAM and exited.
I use ahen taskbar

BS is a completely different program, it allows you to overclock your device.
ashasaur.....Do you know of an overclocking program that will work with the Justhome rom? I seem to remember another program (cab) that started with an "O". Sorry I'm new to this...I have read through 3 days of the forum trying to educate myself and become familiar with the terminology. Guess I'm deleting batterystatus. Ahhh....OMAP, I believe it is? Thank you again for your prompt replies!
Yeah, just use OMAPclock, it will do the same thing that battery status does, but DO NOT set your processor over 247MHz, doing so can damage your processor.
I'll give that a whirl, Thanks!

Like the title says - is there any way or some small utility to apply background image for top and/or bottom bars? (I know You can't make them simply transparent).
I have tried Wisbar, rlToday etc, they are all either doing too much on the side, consuming way too much memory or just buggy. I've also searched this forum but as the bars have too many names (top bar, taskbar, menu bar, start bar etc.) I've come up with nothing really...
What I would like to achieve is something like this (image from ultimatelaunch.de):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Please help.
i asked that before
it is another tool by the ultimate launch author called skinmobile:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1916467&postcount=28
OK, thanks!!!
I'll look into it later (or tomorrow) as I don't have my device with me atm. But it sure seems what I am looking for considering what I have seen and that it's small
you can also use vijay555's todayToggle to remove either or both of them, and just show the background image.
who really needs the bottom bar anyway, if someone can't remember what the two (big number) launches are, what are they doing playing around with ppcs?
it's a tiny exe (9.5kb) that you can leave in your windows\startup folder.
Then edit the registry to choose the size, the exe basically shrinks the bars to 2pixels but you can choose any size you want
Okay, thanks for the tip!!!
By the way - I've seen screenshots of taskbars with icons representing running applications just like in normal desktop PC. Besides MagicButton and WKTask and maybe Wisbar (not sure), are there any other apps (small) or registry hacks that do this? It seems that all these applications address a multiple changes in the system, I am trying to locate utilities that do just that one little thing - show running application icons on taskbar (next to start button).
i use wktask and set it to do absolutely nothing except show the running tasks.
it does'nt seem to me that it slows down or causes any problems
OK, thanks for the tip! Gone try it that way.
By the way Skinmobile is buggy on my WM6, so that app kind of sucks...
yes its a bit buggy but you can edit the ini file and graphics and try a bit around. i had it running without any problems on wm6.1
Naah, I'll just leave it to that and wait for better apps. The "see-thru" effect isn't worth it, if its buggy. For me at least. The buggyness seems to appear when I click on any of the taskbar icons. Although I didn't do a soft reset after running the prog. Should have I done it? Would it change anything?
I would like to launch some applications via the startup menu, and some of them simply need to be running in the background to function properly.
Is there a tag on the shortcut like -minimize that will work for all applications or does the specific application need to support it?
Thank you so much
Try Quickmenu....its nice start menu/task manager it has option to exclude programs from closing when u click on X
you could create a simple mortscript that calls the today screen (maybe with a delay) and make sure the shortcut to it is the last one in startup.
Yep, you can use MortScript to do what you need. I think it's the only way because I needed to do it also. I don't use the script anymore so I deleted it, but if you search the MortScript manual for 'minimize' you should find what you need.
I think its dependant upon the app.. but i have used -s successfully before.. you may also want to try to search MSDN
Give a try to the one attached here........

I assume you want to run an app from \Startup. Your question is a little confusing. Anyway, it will be app dependent as far as the functionality using command lines in a .lnk. I do not know of a general command that would work for this as the point of shortcuts is to open the app. If the app is not intended to run in the background on its own, it will open like normal.
What are you trying to do exaclty? Perhaps that would help answer your question a bit more.
Is there a way to force a shortcut to minimize an application when launched?
i need this too.. for UL links..
Hi All,
I would be missing it completely, but can we add custom Today Screen items in WM 6.5? Something like what Titanium does? I dont want to use Titanium, but just add extra items to Today screen.
Is there a way to do it?
Thanks,
Chaks

i think you are talking about something like HS++ or rltoday.... installing those things should work fine just make sure you tick the appropriate box in today item...
Hi,
I want to create a new Today Screen item in the Windows Default Today screen like the Favorite People Plugin, but I dont want to use Titanium Plugin.
Is that possible?
Hi man,
have you finally find a solution, because i want to do the same but there is no Hello world app for that...
depending upon what version of manila you have, you could use TFDetacher (works with 2.1 but not 2.5). I use it to create a second today screen for my plugins, and have it set to a softkey to toggle between manila and the other today screen. I also use Second Today to have a third today screen that I have Weatherpanel as the only plugin; I use a hard key to toggle to it. Hope that helps.
I too am looking for a similar solution. I tried Titanium mod and I don't like it I gave it two tries and both times resulted in a hard reset. The program itself is fine and feature rich it just isn't mature enough for liking and I kept hitting too many bugs which for me made it unusable.
It ok I found one a little basic but works for my needs. I found it in the MS App store called "Home Screen Customizer" One thing I found straight away was the weather panel works for me first time. The titanium one always used to come back with either .net 3.5 message errors or state issues finding a certain url.
Also its quick and easy to just add my own apps to my own panel and remove default existing panels this all works on the fly without having to reboot or disable and reenable home screens.

Use Manila Today Page
I use Manila Today Page that added one more tab towards the end of the TF3D tabs.... Works wonders for me....
In order to show both the Clock aka Home tab & MyFaves tab in TF3D, edit the following registries;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila:Manila://home.page.hidden
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila:Manila://myfaves.page.hidden
Both are DWORD's, 0 to show, 1 to hide.
Screenshots (NOTE: I don't have SIM Card in, I hacked the registry to make it show & most likely why the Contact Icons are messed up);

don't have myfaves & never saw the tab before. i have seen that registry string but never messed with it. this worked. cool. only thing is that i don't get any settings for it. but still cool to test.

You must have the MyFaves Service on your account otherwise the updater disables the app's GUI & any part of the app itself from launching which is most likely why you don't see settings & also why you never saw the page.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\My5\SMSC\CmdGet\StateRequest]
"ClientUIOnOff"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\My5\SMSC\CurrentState]
"ClientUIOnOff"=dword:00000000
Means GUI is turned off. Changing to 00000001 should make it display.
Hi,
i am working now around 2 month on that.
Not the whole time ;-). But sometimes i
hacking my registry very deep and i find
some nice things.
MyFave can be found multiple times here
on XDA. So after my investigation in had
have a nive mY5 screen. Deinstalled yet,
but i think i will startup again to share some
things here !?....
Edit 16:06 - 30.09.2009:
Actually i working on it ;-). And you don't need the service from the great T.
I will prepare the app on a way that you don't need this service. On the TP2
teher is a favorite page but this is a nice to have page for TF3D.
Loved the original idea from here:

Its basicly a different visual clock, to read the hours see the left vertical columns and for the minutes see the right 5-rows columns.
The PDF on the site above explains it better...
To use:
---------
- 5 colors to choose from, just press the bottom bar to change colors.
- If you prefer a 12-hour clock, simply click the left numbers after 13h.
- Exit with enter (keypad) or by pressing the top-right area.
- See the "normal" digital clock and date by pressing anywhere else on the screen.
Notes:
-------
- Needs FLASH 7, if it doesnt exit properly, you dont have it.
- Attached the CAB, already with the WM6.5 icon on install.
- Also added a separated swf file, to see it run on your NOKIA, PC or Throttle Launcher..
Enjoy.
Nice idea
Love it! thanks!
it would be cool if it can be a screensaver.
thanks twolf!
WQVGA issue omnia
just wondering if there's a way to make the excess screen on my omnia to default BLACK- then your app would be awesome
maybe even add function buttons - there's some promising update potential
awesome clock - would it be possible to simulate the look of a recessed L.E.D.?
looks good on my armband at the CLUB!!!
Great...very cool with the color options!
Sorry, the software I use for the EXE only allows VGA/QVGA, he doesnt even allow any extra options for the size or screen color.

Yes, yes my first app for the htc diamond.
it`s fantastic........... I`m cry
Standalone app?
Just wondering... what is the program you are using for these standalone apps? I could probably use the same thing to make my own FlashGadgets play as standalones, which would make them work across a broader series of device platforms. Please check out my thread, and tell me what you think. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630985
