Hey everyone,
Is there a way to set the reminder snooze time at 0 minutes. I mean when I set an appointment at 12:00 and I want it to remind me at 12:00?
Currently the minimum time which I can set via the HTC Calendar is 5 minutes. I can change it via the original WM6.5 calender buts it kind off a hassle.
Any tweak available for this?
Thanks,
Nick
There is an option to set the reminder as None. Its above the 5 minute option if you scroll.
Test this out and see if it works for you.

I honestly think he DOES what to be remimded of the appointment (instead of not being reminded, by selecting None), BUT he wants to be reminded of it after the appointment has started!
So nvandenbosch, you're one of those guys who love interrupting a started meeting...
I can only suggest writing to Customer Support. Hope you won't get the question I got when I've asked why basic Company information (COmpany name) is not shown in contact information in HTC People, even though Company address (pointless, many times) is: their response: "it's not how the device was designed".

It's just when I have to call someone at 10, I get a reminder at 10 and not 5 to 10.... For meetings I use the 5 minute reminder indeed .
I will contact HTC tomorrow.
Thanks!

Good luck with that!
Hope you won't get someone like I did, someone who would probably tell you something like "hey you... why don't you just set the reminder at 10:05 and the reminder 5 minutes earlier, so you get reminded at 10:00..."
Real support, what can I say!

You'd be better off using Tasks for this, you can set a reminder for the exact time you want.
Is there a way (registry hack maybe?) to set the default reminder time to 0 minutes maybe? Does anyone know?

Any updates on this?
Weird thing is that on a smartphone with WM 6.1 I can set the snooze from 5 mins up an 1hr +, and with Leo I can't ? This doesn't make any sense, does it?

do you mean when the alarm rings, you only get the option to snooze or dismss?
Use bsb tweaks and turn on windows dismiss x notificatiions, which will re enable the 5 mins, 10 mins 1 hour etc etc list of snooze options.

Many thanks, I never realized that BsB Tweks has this option.
no worries, just having snooze or dismiss is just silly.

Hi
Is there a call minute monitor program available for xda2?
I mean a program that you can reset after each month and check how many minutes you are using.
THANKS[/b]
http://www.hudsonmobile.com/
I've bought this software, but I'm a little unsure whether it works ok or not.
The today plug shows, amongst other things, minutes used that day. I noticed that after I received a call lasting around 5 - 6 mins, my daily total had increased by that figure. Surely if it was an incoming call then it should not have counted those 5 - 6. If I had initiated the call myself then I would understand.
Any thoughts / contradictions?
Cheers
Anthony
Thanks for the link!
Try this one
This is my own today plugin (DKToday).
I wrote it because I havent found software with all function I need.
It show you:
- operator name
- signal strength
- today call time ( outgoing only )
- monthly call time
- missing call list
Finally you can call back directly from this today
This software is absolutely free of charge.
Regards and have a fun

In the US on TMo you can type in '#646#' and press TALK, you will get a notification that pops up on your screen in about 2 seconds that tells you how many minutes you have used. I was just in Singapore on singtel and it worked there, give it a try and see if it works for you.
Here is a link to the DKToday Plugin. A very nice piece of work for those looking for this type of tool.

Check the config options - two things are confusing - 1. by default it includes incoming calls which is weird and 2 - it 'rounds' up minutes by default too (so 30secs appears as a full minute). Other than that it's great
I have tried the dashboard before and it's just screwed up.
(funnysnake today phone) worked for me nicely. though i would love to try the one created by TD
Have used dkot's tool and it is pretty handy, thanks.
There are some nice programs to track cell phone usage... however it is surprising that they all completely ignore another important part of cellular usage that affects the bill... SMS...
I havent seen any program that also counts how many SMSs you have sent/received. This is also a major factor because sending/receiving SMSs are not free.
Is there any program that does this as well? or maybe the existing programs ought to include this functionality in them.
I don't know of any software that does this but one way around it would be to save sent messages in your sent folder. All sms folders show the no of messages in there.
You can then empty this each month...
Probably not what you are looking for but it might do till someone writes some software for it.
Hi,
I also installed dkot´s today plugin. Works very nice. Thanks for the work !
Only one minor problem: My month starts on every 22nd (elements -> options). But it seems that the "monthly minute counter" resets to the 1st after each softreset. The 22nd is still shown in the options but on the today screen I see all minutes for the month.
I then go to the options and type in 22 again. After returning to the today screen I get the correct minutes.

Phone Dashboard Minute Tracker
I am using "Phone Dashboard Minute Tracker" (find it on Pocketgear)
It is complete, no problems.
@Tekflow,
Phone Dashboard Minute Tracker seems to be a nice program, but it´s commercial ($14,99).
I like the little Freeware App

hi dkot,
thanx for the plugin. nice work, however i found following:
When i click operator name, it will power off my XDA2.
Phone icon is too big.
When i set count 30 seconds, today screen is refreshed in 30 seconds interval. so if i run another program and then close it, i see garbage onscreen till next interval.
thanx

Excellent !
A very nice, useful piece of software that actually works and does what it says in the tin.
As others have said the only other 'feature' would be an options tab that allows users to set the date their month starts, and maybe reset the call timers.
But as it is, it's fine, and it's one of my must have today plugins !!
Cheers
Mark
Marcus: I've already found and corrected problem you wrote about. Now monthly counter works correctly.
Buzz_lightyear:
It was my intention to turn off screen (it is not power off feature) by pressing operator name. I use it to turn off screen when I listen music. I forgot to say about it.
Screen is refreshed every 5 seconds. I know that the best way would be to refresh call counters after every call, but RIL doesn't send any message when call has been finished ( I tried it )
Icon size - I know that, but I'm not an artist and I couldn't find any other icon. If you have better (smaller) icon set, please send them to me and I will change them.
I'm really happy that all of you want to have dktoday on yours mdas. I will try to correct all errors you found and I hope I will show you next version before end of this year.
Thanx

hey Darek,
i like it very much... I wanted to ask, if it's a bug or feature, but it looked to me as a feature as well... that screen off...
Is it open source? I mean could you provide me with the source? I would like to change some stuff. Mainly face lifting...

Frankly say, I'm not ready for sharing source code with someone else yet. I have to make a lot of change in this software before. It is still in experimental state. Maybe in near future.
Here is my Christmas gift for all of you (see attachment). This is new dll with my today. To install it uncheck my today and simple copy it to windows folder. That is version 1.6. I corrected Marcus's problem, changed options dialog view and moved 'ok' button.
I cannot prepare full cab file because I do it from my pda.
Merry Christmas for all of you from Poland.

I cannot add attachment using pda!!! How can I do it?

Is anyone having success with apReminder+ on their Wizard?
I cannot seem to get it to react to notifications, etc. It "runs" and appears to be operating and a .lnk is in the \windows\startup but thats all I get.
Any help/suggestions would be great.
I have tried the pocketmax pa alarm but it is to much for me and seems to slow my dev.

ps. I think i've arrived at the promised-land when on this site!
Well, I happened to be the author of this utility.
apReminder+ kind of works on WM5, except one feature - Auto Snooze. That's because the Reminder pop-up in WM5 is implemented completely different way compared to previous versions.
But the repeat functionality should work fine - I'm using it on my JAMin.
Hi Alpax,
apReminder+ is exactly what I have been looking for, but alas I can't get it to work on my WM5 Hermes
Followed your instruction exactly but don't get any reminders.
Any ideas or suggestions... or if you know of an app like yours (simple and small) that will work, would love to hear.
Seems like an indispensable utility to me and I'm surprised there aren't lots avaliable.

The utility does not implement the reminders themselves - it just repeats alarm sounds when finds the system reminder pop-up on the screen. Do you see the pop-up with "Reminder" text in its caption, when the alarm goes off?
If it doesn't work, it's difficult to track down the cause as there is no visual indication if apReminder+ is running and handling reminders.
First of all you have to make sure your system reminder dialog is enabled, then set system sound volume to maximum (just to be sure it's not muted and loud enough), run apReminderPlus.exe, check Play sound option (press [ > ] to test it), set number of repeats to 5, for example, and repeat interval - every 30 seconds. Tap Run, create a reminder in Calendar or an alarm in Clock&Alarms, wait for the Reminder dialog to come up and do not dismiss it for some time - hear for reminder sounds.
I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work - it worked every time I tried on any PocketPC including WM5 devices.
Thanks for the quick response.
I think I see my problem... I thought it would work for Notifications also. I first saw apReminder mentioned in a thread for reminders when calls or messages were missed, which is what I need most - not so much for appointment reminders.
Sorry.
Great little app but if it could do the above it would be awesome!

No, it works for regular PIM reminders and alarms, doesn't handle phone notifications, sorry. Those are completely different things, which have to be handled some other way.
Is there an alternate to this program that works on WinMo 6.1 ?
I have never been able to find a way to change the default calendar and task/todo reminder snooze times. Anyone know if it can be done in registry or can make a hack for it?
I want to add some snoozes like 7 hours (for later in the day) and 3 days (for later in the week).
Thanks!

Boy have you hit the nail on the head. This is driving me nuts! I hope someone comes up with instructions or a fix. Jumping from 1 hour snooze to 1 day or greater doesn't work for me. I too need more "hour" selections. I hope that someone responds to our plea for help.
me tooo....
More Snooze options Please !
This is the single most annoying problem with WM, I can not believe that they did not simply offer the same as Outlook
Workaround when you need it snooze for 6h for example, snooze every hour for 6h or re-edit reminder time
I got my first WM 4 months ago, and been looking everywhere to fix this, without success
I send a CHALLANGE to all hacker and developer to come up with a solution
Bump!
Does anyone know if there is any way to do this? If the reminder snooze times are hard coded into the OS is there a way to create a program to intercept reminders and provide our own times?
I would love options for 2, 4, 6, 8 hours! It is crazy that it jumps from 1 hour to 1 day!
Thanks!
Does anybody know a workaround/registry edit or something for this yet?
Just to add that I am also interested in a solution for this. Happy to pay a developer to solve if that is what it takes.
Thans

hm, just thought about this...wouldn't that mean that before going to sleep I would have to chage the profile on my phone ?
if yes, that is not what I'm looking for...I need something that I can set and forget about.
anyone else ?
phonealarm has got scheduled profiles.
I also want something which can disable the sound of email notification at night - without all the other features - just simply configure so between specific hours, no audio notification is given.
I tried 3 different profile apps I found on this forum (with google search), and I found this one to work the best for me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353586
Hope it helps
For my setup, I only have active sync and windows live sync up to midnight and then from 7am in the morning.
Someone mentioned PhoneAlarm...there's also AlarmPal from the same site, which notifies you of an email/SMS/MMS/missed calls etc.. repeatedly until you do something about it (or as many times as you tell it to!); it has the option to define the time period - start and end - for when it should be active.
I used to use it on my Hermes, but have never gotten around to installing it on my Kaiser; I used to have it set to be active from 06:00 to 23:59 which worked well.
It's not free, but it's pretty darn cheap
Cheers,
Mark.
why the hell cant a £500 phone alarm function work??
its proper annoying, i dont see why we should have to buy a alarm app from another site just coz the htc hd2 doesnt work
I know it sucks..... I bought G-alarm that works great. I found a free app that looks like the G-alarm. Here: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-klaxon.html
the WM alarm is the same on all WM devices. Just download an app (there are perfectly good free ones like Klaxon) to do what you like.
P.s. use the search next time - this has been discussed at length previously.
i bought g-alarm for the extra features but the default alarm always worked fine for me as a basic alarm. what exactly doesn't work?
For me, the alarm only rings twice, then it stops. I looked but I can't seem to find a setting for "extending" the ringing. I'm a heavy sleeper, so I need this thing to chirp for at least a full minute!

just tested mine and it rings until i stop it. Not really sure what tweak fixed it, but heres my alarm tweaks.
first,
HKLM\system\shell\notification\oem\
in CustomUIDLL, the default value is NotificationLayout.dll
Change that filename to anything that doesnt exist (example NotificationLayout2.dll) and you will get all your snooze options back (5 mins, 10 mins 1 hour 1 day etc etc, , , this is what bsb tweaks does if you choose the 'windows x dismiss' tweak)
secondly, and i think this may be the one,
HKLM\system\shell\notification\oem\reminder
there is a value called EnableAutoDismiss which is probably set to 1. Set that to 0 and try your alarms. Please let me know if this is it, cos it would be one a lot of people would be interested in.
(It could just be that the chef of my rom has fixed it, and it has nothing to do with EnableAutoDismiss, but worth a try, eh?)
