Hi guys
Really love my HD2... Nice hardware, nice software (with help from cooks) etc.
I have one problem though... The music player!
Im one of those who LOVE music... And lots of it
The problem is related to how you navigate to artists etc... Its so slow! I mean its totally smooth, but the fact that you have to slide your finger for like 10 sec, to get to the bottom, (If you have a lot of music) is a pain... On the iPhone there is a "Letter-scrollbar", from where you can QUICKLY slide to the first letter of the artist you want to hear
There actually also is on the HD2!..... In the "all people" tab! EXATLY what I want is on the HD2, but in the wrong tab (Well its actually also kind of handy to have in the "all people" tab, so no complaints there )
My question/request is: Is it possible, for some hacker extraordinaire, to take the "letter-scrollbar" from the "all people" tab, and implant it in the Music Player. In the artists section preferably
Hope sombody can pull it off!
(I also posted this in the "application" section)
Bump! .......
+1
Loved this on the iphone
+1 I totally agree, since I use my phone as my primary music player
agree, this would be indeed very usefull!
would be very useful
Thanks for the support for this feature.. Guess we have to wait for someone to actually pull some magic out of his/her sleeve..
+1 Bump I would love to see this happen

I love HTC sense music player this is the one little thing missing. Please help
It's something that is definately needed for the music player, also a search function is something really needed
any update on this? a search would be Great instead of Scroll thru 1500 songs :-(
install pocket player...that is the only work around
+1 & Search function please
+1 for this, although I have pocket player installed just for this reason.....its also a very nice looking music player too tbh..

The second sentence is very funny to me. The only thing missing!!!
I also like the Sense Music Player--its integration into Sense, the very cool cover art display in Landscape Mode, etc.
I also agree that it would be nice when scrolling to have letters at the side to help scrolling through a long list.
What is funny to me is "the only thing missing", as I have had several very serious problems with the Sense Music Player. It is extremely buggy. (This thread isn't the place to discuss all the problems though, as it is about the letter-scrollbar, and I will join in on that request.) (More important to me, though, would be if someone could fix the serious multiple database problems with the app.)
+1 for that

Here's the video
Looks pretty neat. Does anybody happen to know what it's called? Searched the forums and google but couldn't find anything.
Personally I think this looks way better than all the attempts to copy the iphone stuff. I mean, where's the problem in having a scrollbar like that?

the problem is, that for example my hermes has a much smaller display, and with such a fat scrollbar i do not see very much of the real content.
regards chief
my phone's a prophet. i could live with that
my problem with all the finger scrolling is that when I stop a scrolling list as in pocketcm I unintendetly hit a contact. it opens up and i have to go back. I believe that is the case with the iphone, too, so no offence pocketcm creator
hi all,
any s/w available for having video ringtones on wm5 ?
why would you want video ringtones?
Something eye catching for deaf people?
it looks cool...so is nethin 4 tht available ?
time to keep this post on the top of the thread. someone please code this up before apple takes credit for one more thing.
http://gizmodo.com/5020939/video-ringtones-for-iphone-revolutionize-answering-your-phone
and i dont want to hear "oh thats stupid" because after apple does it...it will be the best thing since slice bread.
it would be nice to see it in a program like S2U.

If I could work out how to capture calls, I'd give it a shot... But, I haven't worked it out yet!
I hate Apples marketing lies too!
VERY DOPE IDEA.....someone please hop on this
ya for real i will donate or pay. we need something way cool to shut the iphone people up. video ringtones
maybe itll be easier to start with animated flash or gif instead of full vdeio clips? very interesting idea indeed!
If you could capture the incoming call
the all that woyld be needed is like tcpmp to play full screen video
or even wmp instead of audio ringtone
With 2 buttons Ignore and answer
And of course the caller ID info displaying
I havet written code in 10 yrs and I was never that good
i wish i was though
This is a great idea
But sprint phones had Video Ringtones like 5 years ago
On the sanyo mm500
So APPLE didnt revolutionize sh**
But WinMo can make it BETTER!!!
Apple are not revolutionary, and this is done by a seperate company anyway...
I'll package up a very basic call capturer as a test to see if it works in theory... Then I'll try and embed some form of media player...
could we maybe modify photo app by removing limitations (picture format),so it can play gif's as someone mentioned....or maybe a plug-in will be enough....it'll just take to make a plug-in
I was just wondering yesterday why WM phones can't do this. Seeing that a lot of non-smartphones can do it. I don't really mind since it's kind of pointless. I have S2U2 showing who's calling me, which is actually useful.
I think this is a cool idea, not sure that I would use it, but nevertheless..nice idea
Here's a quick test app to see if it's possible to intercept the calls...

So has anyone tried this yet?
Edit: I put it on my device but I'm not sure what to do with it. When I click on the icon it gives me some screen about the caller name, the caller number & the caller contact... with the only options to accept or reject. Any suggestions or just a description l3v5y?

Wait until you get a call and tell me if it pops up above the default screen.

Get a call! And then tell me if it works!
(I'm not popular enough to have people call me )
Okay guys, this is the new official thread for the native version of Melody media player. Let's decide on a name, once that is done, I'll create a proper first page, with a bit more coherence regarding the .NET version.
So far, I've come up with Melody++ (Stemming from the fact that this version is written in C++).
LastNikita, has further suggested, just giving it a 2.0 version suffix. Any more suggestions? Let's not keep too long on this though .
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Due to the fact that iMelody already has a connection to another application, or in this case, a file format, the 2nd place winner of the above poll will assume the official winner of the poll.
CMelody
iMelody! Why not? Put i in front of any name, and your ready!
Just simply "Melody Plus"?
pocketMelody !
Just put 'pocket' in front of anything!

yep. iMelody sounds about right....
Lovemelody
Lovemelody Or Shadowmelody
MeloPlus (combine the melody and "+")
xmelody (the x is seem like +, and that mean extra, excellent)
tmelody (T is stand for Touch, that mean you can use your finger to touch and control the Melody. Maybe the logo design can make the letter t seem like "+", cause this version is written in C++)
sorry for my poor english
Melody III: Return of the King and the Slaying of the Flash Dragon.
one media player?
Like the new thread btw
and the idea of asking us like i suggested..
x
Quick question..
Chad have you thought about using the itunes library to play the music and read is3 tags [or whatever itunes calls them] as this would save us the trouble of using another prog to get the art...
just a suggestion
x
meloPlayer
shadowplayer or thunderplayer (ur ninkname )
also
xdaPlayer in honor of this great site
CoolMelody
My thought.
Some more ideas
mePLUS or MePLUS
mediaPLUS or medPLUS
myplus or MyPLUS [m-elod-y PLUS]
apart from these i really liked the iMelody mentioned here, but iMelodyPLUS would be great then again
Hah, when i looked at "remove programs" thingie i saw the name "Thundershadow's Melody" Which must be the most awesome name ever.
melodyFX
;D
I too agree with pocketMelody if this name seems long then xMelody
Hi,
Just thought I'd start a post to see what people think of this interface. Personally I love the stock TF3D for the diamond and have just added nocurtains and backgroundallpages to it and I cant wait to get the TF3D from Diamond2 onto my phone, but Im always trying out new interfaces to improve usability - I still hate going into windows mobile contacts, messaging, etc.
From testing it seems to have no bugs that I can recall so far (tested of HTC Diamond running Duttys latest version - btw, thanks to dutty: having been using your ROMs for a long time and have always been happy ). Overall customisation seems a lot easier than for TF3D and new 'applets' are being pumped out all the time. You can even 'flick' through all messages with a preview for all inboxs without getting into the windows mobile interface, although you have to enter it to read the full email or to reply/forward. Im sure that improvements will get rid of this in the future though.
Anyways Im adding it on here because Im sure some people will like it and you dont get developers better than those on XDA so maybe we can make it into something really usable?
The only things keeping me on TF3D at the moment are the lack of multiple cities in weather forcasting, lack of music playback from the home screen (no music app currently available) and perhaps a home screen applet that is a little fiddly.
Nevertheless the experience is very slick - no pauses or 'stuttering' in transitions. I will keep testing but let me know about your experiences .

There are already several threads here on XDA about Home2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459706
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482036&highlight=home2
I know there is also one in the Xperia forum...
Bug reporting is done in a thread over at the PointUI forums.
SMS works fine for me on Home2.
Looked interesting, but whenever I hit "home" on my diamond it went to a black, blank home screen. Also no built in media player applet yet. I usually listen to music for about 30-45 mins in the morning, and I don't want to fiddle with the classic media player.

I am aware that pointui development forums are everywhere right now, but thought it would be nice to see what diamond users think - i still think that after diamond2, the interface and usability of diamonds/touchpros is probably the best around for windows mobile.

Yea I know the lack of music is a bit annoying, but I think an applet for it is in development, and considering the throughput of these things at the moment I dont think it will be long before one is released .
Did you disable TF3D and enable Pointui from settings? Also is you TF3D the stock one or is it another one (e.g. Pro version)?
has anyone experienced crashes with it? it worked fine when I first installed on my diamond, now when I open, or soft reset and it loads, I get the RSS hub thing, but it stops spinning, and just crashes, and phone requires soft reset.
Hi, just wondering, is it possible for the Now Playing section of the Manila 2.5 muisc player tab, to have the "aplhabet list" on the side, as in "A, B and C" etc listed (like when viewing contacts list of phonebook) so you can easily jump to artists/tracks by pressing their first initial?

I'm looking for that as well! I haven't found any solution though :S
+1 to this. I love the HTC Sense music player, but this is the one thing missing for me.
Please can someone help
Yeah there have been a couple threads created asking this same question, not sure if it is even possible. I don't understand why HTC didn't add that to the Sense player.
thanks for the feedback people,
hopefully someone with a bit of tecnhical 'know-how' could lend a hand!
