i'm runnning xROM Eclair-v1.0 AOSP/CMSource but i really like the lockscreen that Eclair_2.1-v1.5 G1/MT3G 32B has. how can i extract, or what do i need to replace on my phone from the Eclair 2.1 rom to get that lockscreen?
so instead of this:

i want this:

The lockscreen code is in services.jar. However i'm not sure if it will still boot if you copy that file over (it's in /system/framework btw)

I've always loved NexusMod live wallpaper but it does not work on froyo. i have purchased NexusMod and it sucks that it is only available on cyanogen's froyo ROMs (at least im pretty sure thats the only place you can get it to work). i noticed drizzy linked to nexusmod that functions on froyo but unfortunatly it's in an "update.zip" format (for anyone unfamiliar with android that means you would flash it just like a ROM). is there anyway to turn that file into a ".apk" file so we could install it manually since out HD2s dont have a recovery image to flash ROMs/update.zip files the same way a Nexus One can?
PS. i hope its alright to link to this attachment. i believe its nothing more than the file ripped from cyanogen's froyo ROM.
It's easy. Rename your .zip to .apk ... and install it ^^
Hello,
I have Racht Froyo 0.20 ROM installed on my X8 and i can't update LauncherPro.
Is this normal because LauncherPro is bundled with the ROM?
Same problem, reported on Floyo's thread.
Probably is because Floyo includes LauncherPro Plus, the paid version.
In Racht Froyo 0.20, LauncherPro is a system app. For upgrade:
0 - Backup your system com xRecovery.
1 - Install other Launcher and set to default.
2 - Remove LauncherPro with Titanium Backup.
3 - Install LauncherPro from Market
4 - Set LauncherPro to default.
5 - Remove other Launcher.
PS: Never uninstall LauncherPro until install a new Launcher.
it's a system app so we can't update it...do what the upper post said

Same problem. Froyo 0.20 came with LauncherPro Plus. This is paid version. Maby this is a problem. Installation error on my device is: Installation error – Package file was not signed correctly.
I have a different problem.
Floyo's in call mute does not work. Is there a way I can extract the calling apk's from another ROM and insert it here unto this ROM?
I mean AFTER installing the ROM, not before.
(Say there are x.apk and y.apk and so on... get them from another ROM, replace x.apk and y.apk in floyo)
is it possible?
I don't no if it will works, but try it!
Download this edited phone.apk: http://www.mediafire.com/?fqlsdwcqc8eurag
Make a backup of phone.apk, he is in the folder "system/app"
Paste the "phone.apk" in system/app using root explorer, overwrite it, set permissions at rw-r--r--
try it, but do not forget to assign permissions to the file...
will try that. already replaced a cm6 phone apk with the floyo's apk, it stuck in a loop of FCs. maybe its the permissions!
SUCCESS!
I didn't use the apk you gave me. But the apk that was in my system folder. Which was a working mute key, whereas Floyo's mute wasn't working for me! now the mute works! Thanks for the tip about permissions!
FYI
this is the ROM that I took the phone apk from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036335
(Thanks to lizypen)
and pasted it on Floyo 0.20. (of course thanks go to Racht)
P.S. I might sound like a real n00b right now, I'm just typing these assuming someone who wants to do it wont screw things up! and no one needs to re-invent the wheel
How do you change the shutdown animation?
Sent by a dude with a phone
Find and change "downanimation.zip". You can search Google for the guide. Usually it's in the same place as bootanimation - /system/customize/resource.
I tried to replace the downanimation.zip with the Helix zip by just changing the Helix zip file name to downanimation.zip but it didn't work. Any better instructions?

The HTC glacier doesn't have a down boot animation normally. If someone creates a script or a mod to the system/media , then we can have a down boot animation.
From my fist to your face, enjoy.

Beside mt4g having no downanimation, helix.zip is a flashable zip, you will need to unzip the actual animation.zip then replace what u got if u are on stock or sense roms where the animations are not in the same location as as install script.

MT4G does have downanimation, at least on VU ROM (and most probably any other Sense ROM too).
As said by sleepyfu, you need to extract the actual bootanimation.zip out of Helix.zip, rename it and put it in correct location stated above (again, for Sense ROMs).

Guess I was wrong, also I never used a VU ROM, so I that's why I said what I did. But I'll check one out to see it.

All the built in MIUI visual effects and tweaks now work! The app drawer setting does not work, but it doesnt work on multiple other devices either. Maybe down the road?!
I pulled these from MrGarak's fresh squeezed edition for the desirehd/inspire4g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399074
This has only been confirmed working by me on stevendeb25's alpha2 Miui release. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721
I do not know what will happen with other atrix miui builds.
You take full responsibility for messing up your phone using these files.
Be sure to backup first just in case.
Here is a collection of mods to add to Miui that enable all the visual goodness that is Miui. Parts Pulled From Miui Version 1.12.16
After digging around for a while I was able to put together a collection of Miui parts to enable all the eyecandy and special settings Miui has. I put Miui on my GF Inspire a long time ago and wondered why it had so many more built in visual tweak settings that we did not have. Now WE DO!
Add Current Miui Version launcher2.apk which adds settings to remove icon text, wallpaper scrolling, and autoclose folders.
Add systemUI.apk and Miui Settings.apk to enable the statusbar layout, overscroll effects, all kinds of control over colors used in the Miui GUI.
Add Framework.jar to enable overscroll effects and bring back battery on top of statusbar.
Not using the framework.jar will cause overscroll effects and top battery bar to not work..
I have been running this way for about a whole day now and everything seems stable and smooth.
Basically this will enable all the MIUI Eyecandy effects.
Follow these directions:
1: Copy Launcher2.apk to /system/app, reboot
2: Copy the Miuisettings.apk to /system/app, Reboot
3: Copy the SystemUI.apk to /system/app, StatusBar will forceclose and you will have to pull the battery. Upon Reboot run FIX PERMISSIONS with Rom Manager.
4: Copy the Framework.jar to /system/framework, Reboot one last time and Run Fix permissions again once rebooted.
ENJOY!!!

I have accidently deleted the apk for the alarm clock and now I cant get it back. Is it possible someone could post it here? The rom im running is stock 2.3.3
Just download a ROM from here that resembles yours, open the zip, go to system/app and copy DeskClockGoogle.apk
That's the name of it in my ICS ROM, probably the same or similar in Gingerbread.
