hi
I am running Miri 6.5 21889 REV18.0. I've a lil problem that i find somehow annoying. I set my Timezone GMT -5, as in my location. When I send an sms, in my inbox it has the good time, but when I receive any, the time is not the good one. It has -5 hours. So in my inbox, when i read sms, the disposition is not right.
an idea to fix it?

When I send SMS to other friends and they receive it with the correct time stamp. When they send me SMS I get them with time stamp of - 5 hours. The only thing I discovered is I live in Eastern Canada so I set my time zone accordingly, funny enough it is the GMT -5, and setted up the time to be my local time.
The only solution I found is to set my time zone to be London, GMT 0, with my real local time and all my SMS are now OK.
Now, is it possible there is a software bug on Windows mobile 6.x?
even i hv the same issue..whenevr i receive sms, the time shows 5 hours ahead!!!! i hope this is a bug..any soln???
Than your time zone must be set at GMT +5? Put it back to GMT London
I guess the answer is here:

problem started after daylight savings time

Hi,
This affects only the text messages or also the time on the home screen and World Clock?
Start > Settings > Phone > TimeZones. Check Automatic change time zone and clock.
i looking at my date format on my inbox and its set 01/06/10 but my region is set to uk etc any ideas? or am i missing something
Yes, I get that too. Not sure why tho as everything else appears in the correct format.
You kinda get used to it. Perhaps a little americanisation aint a bad thing!
awww so no solution
any fix to this problem yet?
Go to settings and change the regional settings to UK

They are already set to U.K. ..... its only within the SMS app that they display as mm/dd/yyyy everywhere else they are set as dd/mm/yyyy
I've never had this issue AFAIK, but then I delete SMSs once read...I've got one in my inbox at the mo so I'll leave it until tomorrow and see what happens

Ok thanks!
I can also add that changing date format from dd mm yy to dd m yy in regional settings doesn't help either.
Any solution to this yet?
Still nothing,
It's annoying ...
Cola ( not to violate any law ) for the good tip!
I have Australian locale settings set, which should display date dd/mm/yyyy
It displays that way some places, but it displays US format in:
SMS
conversation view
Picture/video properties
Calendar alarm notification pop-ups
... possibly more. I would really love a solution to this. I wrote to HTC but they brushed it off. In fact, they tried to tell me it depended on the setting on the device a photo was taken on or that synced the calendar entries. Pfft! All my photos were taken on the phone.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed but if it has im sorry. Anyways everytime i receive a text, it always has the wrong timestamp.. for example my friend in sydney messages me in sydney at 11:00am, ill receive it a couple of minutes later but the stamp will be 10:00am (and ive checked the time on his phone) and this may seem rather harmless but after 5 or 6 texts each way it becomes a bother to constantly scroll up and read his new messages.
Secondly, everytime i open the messaging client in sense and try to 'tap to compose text' it takes several texts and then the htc keyboard just puts out numbers and symbols instead of letters.. which is fixed temporarily with a restart of sense.
same here!
i have the same trouble!! anyhelp any1
check your timezone settings in the phone, they need to match your friends. Perhaps you got the right settings (consider daylight savings if you use them down there) but he has not?
If his or your timezone is set wrong, but time is set "right" messages with diffrent "zone" will show up wrong.
So make sure both your friend (if its only one person whos sms timestamp is wrong) and your own phone.
That should fix it for you.
I just updated my radio to the TMOUS 2.07 radio and I don't know if this is because of that but now my text messaging is acting up.
In the Sense threaded view of SMS, its showing the messages I receive, but not the ones that I have sent to that person.
Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions on how to fix?
sms are displayed in order of the date and time sent
after flashing a new radio, the date and time often change, for example may 1980 which is annoying
just re-select your time and date from the settings, or set up an internet time sync and restart the phone
hope this helps
