Ive searched already here.
I got a Rogers HTC Magic, rooted and running MyHero ROM.
My phone keeps telling me "Phone Storage space is getting low"
Ive cleared every text message, email, from the phone, and my SD card has over 1.5GIG of free space...
Anyone knows whats going on? and what could I do?.. I really dont see wha tcould be wrong hehehheheh
Thanks.
Oh yeah i got like 30MB in the phone.
Did you partition your memory card? What do you have them set at?
Does it support a2sd? Are there any specific instructions to set it up that you have to go through?
A little more info would be helpful.
I did partition my memory card...
Was a while ago tho.. hpow do i see what do i have it set as?
do it in parted.
I looked in his thread. Near the bottom of the post it gives special directions for apps to sd.
Apparently it does it on the fat partition, so you don't need an ext(?)
Read through it and do what it says.
Thanks a lot...

Cliff Notes Version:
Got the MY3G, did all the good stuff (rooted, CyanogenMod v4.0.4, Apps2SD, etc.,). However, after I configured Apps2Sd and the SD card with the partitions I could have swore I had 289MB (or something close to that) of free internal storage. I have installed numerous apps and it went down to 278. I know the Apps2SD worked, however what is taking up those 10 megs??? After I noticed this I began rebooting the phone after app installs to see if maybe the apps need to be pushed to the SD card during reboot. No luck. If anyone can throw me some advice or point me in the right direction that would be badass.
Thanks.
You do know cache does take up room? Also if you installed apps thats why it went down. its normal
your_helpfull_hand: This is my first Android based phone so thanks for taking it easy on me. Ok, I forgot about the cache....So, if I understand this correctly the apps will install on the SD card but the internal memory will still slowly decrease but not all crazy as if I was installing straight to the phone??
One more thing, after configuring Apps2SD how much internal storage should be left with (the phone being clean after loading Cyanogen)? As I mentioned I was originally left with 288MB or close to that. Is that about right? Should it more or less?
you should install the cache2sd app that's in the market since you have root. search "root" or "cache" to find it.
I used that app, stopped using it because when i went from browser back to gtalk had issues. Also to the OP it just matters how much you formatted for your ext3. I did a gig so I really don't care how manny apps i have. Also as of now i'm using 7mb of 89mb on internal so don't have any issues. Don't worry you have Apps2Sd don't worry unless you formated your ext3 for only about 150mb.
Ok so.. I finally after months flashed my second rom
HAd some trouble, I have to admit..
DC~~
I had trouble and I did some wiping and messing with my SD chip and that was the only way I could functionally get a flash..
I just spent a day and a half setting my phone up to my liking and its become apparent apps2sd isn't working and my SD card only has one 1.5 partition out of 2 gb.
Sorry if there are posts with directions of how to work from this point to keep everything while enabling apps2sd and transfering
I dont know where to start searching.
Thanks guys.

get a app called dconfig, it has an option to move your apps so they're on the card.
other than that im not sure what youre asking.
it might be simpler just to flash your phone, format your card and start from scratch.

do some searching on here, goggle & ppcgeeks for how to root, flash a recovery image, partition your sd card and flash a rom. just make sure the guide you are using and the rom you use is for a cdma based hero.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=90380 heres good guide to get you started.
I'm rooted I might just need to flash the Rom with the SD card.formatted correctly... I'm going to try to re find where the apps are stored and save them... id love to just be able to correct my SD config and set up apps2sd and move em over so I can keep my home screen set up as well as the info supplied in my apps and todo lists..
Thanks for the info ... on the road right now (passenger.seat )
Maybe I'm not a newb, I'm just stupid... I rooted using ubuntu karmic and I had apps2sd working before I moved to damage control
Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
hmm.. Damage control rom comes with Dconfig and it has apps2sd enabled and move apps to sd checked.
Ok heres the thing..
I had a Modaco rom before and with apps2sd enabled and the SD formatted properly.
Plugging my phone into a computer would open up 2 drives... One 1 designated to be 1.5 gb and another .5 gb
How ever now I only see one.. the 1.5 gb
My memory is running low as if everything i've installed is in the phone.
searching through the phone i can't seem to find where these apps are being saved...
Are they on the elusive .5 gb partition I can't seem to see??
i think not... I just rebooted and my available space is 63.74mb
It's all becoming a no brainer that i should reflash the rom with the correct specifications to the SD chip...
But what I want to know, is there a way around this. ( I don't see any options, but I'd love to reformat my SD correctly and get apps2sd working on my own, moving all my apps over there while keeping any stored data intact...) <--- is this possible??
[maybe i should learn how to communicate clearly LOL]
For the moment, Ill back up my SD contents and hunt down how to partition correctly.. then I'll see if I can't find the folders where it is storing downloaded apps... then I'll disable then enable the apps2sd setting in dconfig and download an app... if all goes well i'll start pushing my apps over and do the whol "fix apk uid" in the recovery menu...
Hell maybe ill even decide to get a newer recovery besides 1.2.3 while im at it hahah.. any suggestions would be appreciated

So... Why is my memory so low???
I'm about to take my SD chip out and see if I cannot access the contents of these folders without it in...
MY APPS2SD IS WORKING AND HAS BEEN WORKING
Sorry guys... somethings just up[or rather DOWN] with my memory and my SD card reads differently...

There's only one way to stop being a n00b: Learn.
You're doing fine. My suggestion is to not take it all on at once. Focus on one problem, fix it, learn from it and move on to the next one. You'll be a pro in no time.
I would guess that you need to repartition the SD card when moving from one ROM to the next, but I've never really played with apps2sd. See? You know more about it than I do!
download app: quick systems info
to see if your a2sd is working and how much is being used.
use the dconfig to make sure you have dalvik cached moved to sd... reboot the phone.
i am guessing at this....
you say you had a2sd working before with Madaco and could see 2 drives... that sounds wrong to me. if a2sd was working, then you should not see the 2nd drive. you are only able to see the main larger drive and that is it.. the others are used by android and not available to us.
now that you can not see the 2nd drive. sounds like a2sd is working. the app i suggested should confirm for you.
I did get everything working and my memory remains the same when I install applications.... perhaps I could see the second drive because I'm running Linux and/or the way I formatted the sd or the extension...

I think what you are describing is your SD-EXT partition (the a2sd partition you made). If you have a 2GB card and partitioned your card to be .5GB EXT, then it will appear your SD is 1.5GB. You get what I'm saying?
I used to be able to see 2 partitions as well. I think it was only with 1.5 ROMs.
If you want to mount both partitions then all you need to do is reboot into recovery and select the USB mount. Then both partitions will show up.
But you really don't need to mess with that second partition. Go to the market and download Titanium Backup. That will backup all your apps and settings. Restoring is a little annoying to do since you have to click for every app but if you buy the donate version then you don't have to do that.

I perfer Backup For Root Users... does the same thing but is free and is one-click one-shot deal.
I recently installed Android on my phone.
And now I am getting an error if I run a application. ( This does not happen with all applications. )
The error I am getting is:
Slice It! ( Game I downloaded from the Android Market. )
-----
Sorry!
The application Slice It!( procescom.com2us.sliceit ) has stopped unexpected.
Try Again.
-----
This also happens with other apps.
I have found a fix for this error and that is to move the app from my SDcard to my phone.
But some apps on my SDcard work so I was wondering is there a fix for this so I can put all apps on my SDcard so that my phone's internal storage does not get full.
OnurKirikoglu
Info op my phone:
HTC HD2
Android 2.3.2
MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 (v. 2.6) A2SD+
Is there something I could not explain well or is it something else?
Anyone???
Maybe some apps moved to SD card, look in application settings.
If they did, just move them back to phone ;-P
Please Help!
I just started having issues like this myself. Seems like half my apps give me an error. Doesn't matter if they're on phone or sd. Started after I put in a different sd with a new android rom in it. Ginger _bread. But it would get stuck after some cyanogen mod7 animation would finish followed by an option box asking to click to install by com.android....or some other option. Either way it would just freeze on that screen. So installed my other sd card with darkstone froyo 2.2. First thing it did was asking me to tap on android to get started. Did so and skipped all the other prompts. Then it continued to load all my apps as normal but with the exception that a lot of the apps where giving me pop up errors asking to force close them. Its driving me mucking cuts! Should I reformat my sd and start from scratch? Sorry for the long explanation. Thanks in advance.

The only problem if I do that is that the internal storage of my phone gets full.
And after a while I get messaged like "Internal Storage full".
Is there maybe a way to give the internal storage a bigger capacity?
Hi All,
Please bear with me: I've searched and found no clear answer.
When installing apps from the Market, a few errored out with an "out of space" error. When checking space, I still showed 75% remaining.
If I waited a bit, the app would install correctly.
Any idea what's going on, or how to correct it?
I have the option in apps manager to move any selected app to the SD card, but I hesitate to do so as I'm already running the whole show off the card (8-16G-so there's still plenty of space...)
I suspect that there's more in play here than available card space.
Any advice/input would be appreciated!
I'm an old-time DOS/Windows user, so Android/JAVA/Linux are still part of a learning experience.
Thanks,
Dan
Did you ever get an answer to this?
I am doing the same thing but with an 8GB card and the partitions seem to create as they are supposed to but if I install more than 2-3 apps it tells me I am out of space. I cannot get a solid answer as to which partition I need to resize to fix this.
Hi all, so to start with, as the title says im constantly running out of space on the FN model 2015, so ive dived into the forum looking for help. First thing i tried was the sd card hack to combine my 64gb sdcard with the 8gb internal. Harra! it worked, but then i still run outa space as it dosen't seam to to use the sdcard space as i had hoped. It's like it just copys some of the data from the apps to the SD card like normal but without having to go into the each app and selecting external sdcard. Kinda thought no probs I'll download a custom rom with no samsung apps and with a min gapp giving me as much storage space i could get. I can't see one, starting to think there isnt one. So my question is, is it hard for me to take my backup of my stock rom and strip what I can out bearing in mind I'm a bit of a noob and have to follow instructions from the clever ROM makers? not to bothered about increasing the speed and looks just the space. Would be able nice to update them without having to delete a few and re-install the ones I deleted. Any advice on what coarse to take would be great. Maybe theres a ROM I've mist I could use and give thanks for?
Cheers

Hi,
Instead of using Adoptable Storage, make 2 partitions on your SD, 1 FAT32 for photos, music, documents and another EXT4 for apps data. Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.pricealert.apps2sd , i tested it.
You can make 2 partitions using PC or with TWRP Recovery.

Thanks for your reply! I went down the apps2SD route in the end. Kinda mest it up a bit but have free'd up nearly 1gb of space so thanks, that's more than enough! %) I ended up partitioning the SDcard and linking all the apps I'm not interested in, excel,Skype,Samsung etc. Anyway what i didn't realise was that i had mest the other part of the partition up. Ended up re-formatting the SDcard in recovery back to normal and those apps I didn't want 90% of the data of those have now been wiped %)
