Ireland Meteor Hero MMS issue - Hero, G2 Touch General

I have not been able to get mms to send or recieve on my Hero or on my G1 has anyone else on meteor been having this issue?
Not sure if it is due to my phone being rooted or meteor being lazy.

there is solution somewhere in the Hero thread on Boards.ie (I can't post links yet, sorry), but it is long thread and unfortunatelly system doesn't allow you to search anything short as 3 letters (mms).

have yu got the right apn set?
have a look here for settings
http://tech-n-life.com/index.php/20...-data-connection-settings-in-ireland-android/
and make sure mobile network is turned on

These are my mms settings for my hero on meteor with mms working which are different than the link above. Mayhaps try both:
name: meteor mms
apn: mms.mymeteor.ie
proxy: 010.085.085.085
port: 8799
username: my
password: mms
server: not set
mmsc: http : / / mms.mymeteor.ie (ignore the spaces, i just cant post links)
mms proxy: 010.085.085.085
mms port: 8799
mms protocol: wap 2.0
mcc: 272
mnc: 03
apn type: mms
And my phone is rooted (Modaco 3.1)

Problem with mobile network

Hi,i just bought a HERO and i have problem to connect to internet (3g),when i try to browse i have a error "Connection Filed. This aplication requires network access. Enable mobile network or wi-fi to download data." But the mobile network is enabled 100%.
Help me pls
Ehm... That's not a lot of information to go on.
How about telling us what network you're on, what country you're in, whether the phone you got came on the network or if it was sim free and what your current APN settings are. Also, try and find out the usuals, like what version of software your phone is running.
If you can get some of that info, I can take a look and see what's wrong.
Cheers
ok,i am not sure, but i think this is unlocked phone from "Orange UK",i have a "orange" icon on the rear panel, and i have orange bookmarks, but it seem free. My operator is "cellcom" in israel,i created new APN with helpdesk of my operator, but its not solved the problem.
Firmware version: 1.5
build: 3.73.61.5 146733 CL#61267 release-keys
software version: 1.0.0.A6288
OK. So you've got some APN settings in. The ROM seems quite up-to-date (I presume you typod it, as I reckon it should be 2.73.61.5), and the phone may well be unlocked, but I'm not sure how your phones work in Israel for locking (being as it's branded as Orange, but sold by cellcom.
The error you are telling me about suggests your phone is not making any connection to the network whatsoever You could try comparing settings with a friend's phone if they are on cellcom too (preferably on hero, so that might be difficult).
Otherwise, you might need to get back onto cellcom, since I'm not aware of any problems other than settings (including, but not only APN).
I'd also make sure that wireless data is definitely turned on by clicking settings when the error appears, and checking Mobile Internet is turned on, and that it is set to always on for the moment.
its not sold by cellcom the phone is from UK,but in israel i am in cellcom.
just now burned rom modaco 2.9,burned ok all is ok,but i have still the problem.
i cant connect to the internet without wi-fi
still this error "Enable mobile network or wi-fi to download data" but its enabled and APN created...
maybe some problem with phone (hardware) ?
if i will not solve it today i think i will return the phone
You might find it useful to actually list out your APN settings, because the problem is probably there!
Regards,
Dave
the problem is solved, thx for all
problem was in APN settings.
found blog with all israel providers APN settings.
Yeah. I thought APN sounded suspicious in this case, foxmeister.
@tadik, any chance you could post the APN settings here (or a link to the blog) just incase someone else finds this post searching google. Could help someone else in this situation in future.

Network Settings from Austrian Providers

I thought that one but could open up a thread that's all about the network settings of the Austrian provider. I'm doing the early times with the settings from orange Austria for Web and MMS! It is so often asked enough according to the settings for the Internet and MMS, so it would be useful to construct a database for the settings to create! It could also turn this into a thread of all providers of the settings included.

T-Mobile US APN Settings for MMS

I have found about 20 different posts that all list different APN settings for T-Mobile US. Does anyone know what they should be for sure? Please only post if you are able to SEND MMS. I seem to be able to receive MMS, but can never send MMS. I have gotten it to work a couple times on some builds but the same settings don't seem to work on other builds.
Posting the settings is great but if you have a backup file from "APN Backup and Restore" that would be even more convenient.
Thanks
I fought with this same problem for a while, trying every setting i found in all the threads. One way i finally found that allowed me to send and recieve was to make 2 APN's, one with the standard epc.tmobile.com and nothing else, and another named t-mobile mms with the following settings:
APN: T-Mobile MMS
Proxy: None
Port: None
Username :none
Password: none
Server: none
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms.wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
I got the idea for using multiple APN's when i looked at my girlfriend's my touch slide's settings. Hope that helps!
Thanks. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. I read once that there are different settings for PPP and RMNET. I wonder if that's why I was able to get it to work on some builds and not others.

Thanks for these settings that u shared. This was the only APN that worked for my friend to get mms on tmobile prepaid with an AT&T Xperia Play 4g. They only get 2g/Edge, but I feel they even got an increase in speed from the "telekila"APN that was on the phone even if its small increase within 2g. Thanks everyone.
What are the correct apn settings for T-Mobile prepaid? Speedtest.net is reporting my location WAY off and pings are through the roof even though data speeds are just fine.
