Keyboard with Spell Checking laggy :( - Hero, G2 Touch General

Hey Guys,
i own my Hero now for some Weeks and its a fantastic device. The only Problem is the laggy Keyboard, if Spell Checking is on.
Does everybody have this Problem? I read a lot about it, but no conclusion except to turn off spell checking.
Is there any other solution for this Problem? Cause i would like to enable Spell Checking.
Cheers,
Ebi!
P.S.: Hope my English is not too bad and you understand everything

[RESOLVED] Mistery: Backlight turns on each day at 23:59

Hi All,
I noticed that a couple of seconds to midnight the display of my Touch HD turns on.
I turns off as usual, but I think it's kind of strange.
Anyone had the same issue?
Is it harmful? somehow I don't trust it
Hope someone knows what s the cause.
Regard
Ramón.
Have a search on here - I think I've already seen someone talk about that. It's something to do with searching for updates or something like that.
Thanks, I searched before but didn't find it..
I tried again and found the thread.

It seems to be caused by GAlarm which I'm using.
Thanks for the tip.. feels good to know why this happening

Info for slow people like me

I've been pretty frustrated with my titan recently. The number one thing that I have had problems with is text messaging. It was just so laggy, I couldn't type a simple sentence with the hardware keyboard without having to go back and edit a bunch of misspelled words. I tried flashing to different roms to see if it was a software problem, and on a fresh rom it was faster but after using it a while it became laggy once again. So I tried the new speedbooster2.0 software that was recently posted in development and hacking forum, and it seemed to help but not enough. Still a terrible lag that frustrated me to no end. I text ALL the time, more than I talk on the phone. My girl and I probably send over a hundred texts a day, so this problem was having me thinking drastically like, just getting a new phone. Texting is my #1 purpose of my phone.
Then all of a sudden today it dawned on me that I could disable word suggestions. I tried that and guess what... Completely fixed the problem!
So if anybody else is as slow mentally as I am, this info will be helpful. Otherwise this is just a good story to laugh at.
very nice...i've seen it before...happened to me...
i didn't know how i fixed it
probably loaded a new rom...

Predictive Text

Hey guys,
Be gentle - long time reader, first time poster!
First of all, this forum is brilliant! It's been the first place I go if I've got a problem with my phone. Thanks to everyone for providing such brilliant trouble shooting.
Secondly - I've got an issue. I love my HD2 - I think it's great, but over the past few months I've had nothing but problems! I've had to hard reset it after freezing because I've left it on standby for a long period of time, it's been acting very laggy as well. The issue I'm querying about however, is an issue with my predictive text. It's recently started playing up and not working at all. So when I have T9 selected, it doesn't actually predict!
Is it worth (with all the problems I'm having) sending it off, or reseting back to factory settings first to make sure I don't waste 14 days when it's back at O2.
Thanks for any help in advance,
James
It's probably worth putting a decent ROM on it to be honest. I have the latest Energy one and the predictive works a treat - no freezes etc. Only thing is you'll need to HARD SPL the thing and so will need to put it all back to normal (just about possible) if you ever have to send it in for warranty work.
Hey,
Thanks for the quick reply. A question though, if I were to apply an alternate ROM to the one supplied by HTC, will I be able to keep the same 'theme' that it has at the moment. ie. the start bar etc.
Cheers,
James

[Q] speech problem

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem as I do, and have a solution for this.
My speech to text option does not work anymore. when i say anymore, i meant it used to work before i had to change the sd card and hard reset the phone (as it was stuck on white screen couple of days ago). I got that the phone to work but now it caught a bug. I dont use this feature as much, but it sort of bug me to know that there is this bug. get it?
so.. i read on a forum elsewhere, that it was due to the headset. i did use the headset several times. But i cant remember if i used the headset before or after i found out that i have this speech problem. moreover, i have restarted the phone but still to no avail.
kindly give ur opinion or a solution to this matter.
Thanks!
so.. seriously?
no answers or opinions? im kinda disappointed now.
i figured it out on my own

I believe he mentioned reset to factory defaults (at least this will help you get rid of the most problems after the upgrade, including most of the problems with lagging UI)
The lag (probably we are talking about the same thing) will keep appearing as I mentioned even after the factory reset however only during CPU intensive tasks (at least based on my experience), i.e. enabling the network and trying to write a message the same time - during this time all background sync tasks will kick in and CPU would be kind of busy - letters will appear a bit slower and some touches may not be registered. So in this case you could enable network... wait a bit (minute? two?) and try to write the message. The same seems to happen if you start updating the apps from the Google Play and at the same time trying to send a message (or use a messenger).

Which is your problem? The touchscreen don't work fine or is the keyboard? Have you tried to change keyboard? Like Gboard etc?
The problem is the slow. I can write only with a minimum slow because if I want to write faster, the phone cant keep the speed and miss some words. I touch the words but the phone isnt answer for that and miss it. I mean " some touches may not be registered" but sometimes the phone has got the old 6.0 writing speed and it can keep it. Very interesting, but Its so annoying
Same issue to me...
Hello,
I'm totally agree with zsoltie95. I've got the similar issue. I tried other keyboard (G-Board, SwiftKey, Samsung Keyboard...) and the issue persists. Not every time, but very often. I don't have solution at this moment and it is very annoying...
For me A5⑥ does have this minor issues , but I figured out this might be related to software itself, if you really notice the transition speed of 6.0.1 it's bit faster (slightly), however it's a different thing on nougat. What I'm trying to point at is maybe the transition speed makes it no so smooth.
*Just my thoughts , don't mind if wrong.
