Backing up contacts?

Befor i start upgrading ROM's and doing tweaks and such id like to be able to back up my contacts any idea how to do so? I dont need a full backup of the unit I already looked at SPB Backup Id just like my contacts.
If you were to sync with your outlook, your contacts will be in the outlook and after you've done fiddle with your phone, just resync and you will have all your contacts in.
Alright thats what ill do even thou i dont use LOOKOUT ^_^
You can also backup pim.vol which is in the root of your device - all the info of your contacts and appts inc pics.

Contact list file location

Where is the contact list with all the Outlook address stored on the phone? I lost my contact list, but have a master backup - but no idea where the file is that I need to restore. Help!
PIM.VOL
If you look at the root you should see a PIM.VOL file. that contains all of your outlook contacts, calendar...
Contacts
is there a way i can transfer contacts from SIM to Phone? when i use icontact, it only lists contacts on the phone. but all my contacts are on the SIM.
Use pimbackup to back up your contacts in the future. the pim.vol file is not the best way to back it up.

MYPhone custom folders to sync

I would like to synchronize custom folder with photos, because I use microsd for that.
So..my question is...where in the registry keys I need to change what to set new directory for photos?
Thanks
Do not trust myphone
Do not trust Microsoft Myphone.
I did.
My old HD was stolen.
I had all contacts in a backup at myphone.
So when the choice of which new phone I should buy, a new windows mobile became the choice. At least I would get all my contacts back on the phone easy.
Well. Logging in myphone with the new HD2, all contacts are gone.
The SMSs are still there, but not the contacts.
Do not trust this as your backup. Use PIM or something similar, and keep the backupfile om your own computer.
I am using active sync and outlook contacts every few weeks or when I add few people...
I would like to use myphone just for sync photos and messages...but I would like to sync photos from microsd folder...

Contacts backup to standard format for importing into another phone

Is tehre a way to export all conmtacts into a well known globally supported format so that I will be able to import them into my other symbian phone or a future android phone?
thanks
Ok let's try again...
I need to export my contacts into a standard well known format lice csv because I need to import them into my backup phone which is a symbian: how can I do that?
Thanks
of course I am asking as I don't want to use outlook or sync with gmail.
No one answered you, though I'm lookin for the same thing
I know you don't want to hear this, but Outlook really is one of those programs that pretty much anything will sync with.
Google Mail (Contacts and Calendar) is also becoming very popular for syncing.
Most apps will also support export and import via CSV.

How do i save Google contacts as phone contacts?

I backed up my phone using MyBackup Pro and wehn i tried to restore everything, it saved my contacts as Google contacts.
Now im wondering how to save it as Phone contacts, becuase according to HTC Sync, i have 0 contacts.
Ive tried a few apps, but all they do is convert Phone to Google and not the other way around. Any ideas?
Alright well i downloaded an app called Export contacts, which exported my google contacts as a .csv
I tried to import ot outlook and it wouldnt do it, so i had to import to Gmail, then export again and then import to Outlook.
Man, i really need to go through and merge both my phone and my Gmail contacts
